Traveling a bit north to see Versailles was a great 1/2 day experience. Chris, our guide, was well educated and did a great job getting us through the main areas of Versailles. The private tour of 6 was well worth the extra cost.
We were very pleased with our Private Tour of Versailles. Our wonderful guide, Zara, picked us up promptly at our Paris hotel in a very clean and comfortable Tesla. She proved right away that she is a skilled and experienced driver in the crazy Paris traffic, maneuvering through the traffic circle around the Arch de Triumphe like a champ. Zara speaks English very well, and we had no difficulty understanding her. She began our tour immediately after our introductions, explaining the origins of the palace with Louis XIV and continuing, so that by the time we arrived at Versailles, we had a good understanding of what we were about to see.
When we arrived at the palace, Zara dropped us off at the entrance while she located a parking space for her car. She was very clear about where we were to meet her. We didn't have to wait long, as she was able to park and get back to us within a few minutes. She got us right into the palace, skipping the lines that were already forming.
Once inside, she provided us with listening devices with ear buds so that we could hear her clearly over the other guides in the crowded venue. We were very pleased with her knowledge of Versailles and the history of France and the events leading up to the French Revolution that she shared with us as she expertly guided us from room to room. She also provided us with an opportunity to enter and photograph the amazing gardens.
During our return drive to Paris, our guide pointed out landmarks and made suggestions of other things we might be interested in doing and seeing while in Paris. Again, we were impressed with her ability to navigate Paris traffic and drop us off safely at our hotel. We were very happy with our experience.
We had an absolutely wonderful private tour of Versailles! From beginning to end, the experience was exceptional. Our guide Zara was knowledgeable, professional, and incredibly engaging, bringing the history of Versailles to life in such an interesting and memorable way.
Having a private tour made the experience so much more special—we were able to enjoy the magnificent palace and beautiful gardens at a comfortable pace, ask questions, and truly appreciate all the incredible details without feeling rushed.
Everything was very well organized, smooth, and enjoyable. Versailles itself is breathtaking, but having such a wonderful guide made our visit even more unforgettable. This was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Paris, and I would highly recommend this private tour to anyone visiting Versailles. Absolutely worth it!

My husband, sister and I spent a fantastic day on a private half-day tour of Versailles. Chris picked us up at our hotel in a very nice vehicle.
The visit to the chateau with Chris was really interesting and informative. Chris has a wonderful perspective especially as he has a degree in art. He told us many details you would never learn on your own.
We chose this private Versailles tour based on its outstanding reviews and were genuinely excited for what we expected would be a premium experience. Unfortunately, it ended up being the most disappointing tour we’ve taken during multiple trips to Europe.
Our guide arrived nearly an hour late to pick us up from our hotel, which immediately put us behind schedule. Throughout the tour, he seemed far more interested in greeting other guides and staff than sharing the history and stories that make Versailles so fascinating. The experience felt rushed, as though the priority was finishing on time for his next tour rather than providing the personalized experience we had paid for.
A big disappointment was the gardens. Instead of guiding us through them or explaining their history and significance, he simply handed us our garden tickets, told us to explore on our own, and instructed us to meet him later in the parking lot. There was no context, no commentary, and no effort to enhance the visit.
For the premium price of this private tour, we expected exceptional service, engaging storytelling, and a memorable experience. Instead, it felt as though we paid a significant premium primarily for transportation to and from Versailles.
Given the many excellent reviews, it’s possible we were simply assigned the wrong guide. However, based on our experience, we cannot recommend paying the extra cost for this tour, as it did not deliver the level of service or value we expected.

Regarding the late pickup, an exceptional traffic incident occurred that morning: a large coach had broken down on the roadway following an accident, completely blocking traffic.
Unfortunately, our guide was trapped in the resulting congestion, with no alternative route or possibility of getting out.
This situation was entirely beyond both his and our control, and we sincerely regret the impact it had on the rest of your visit.
We fully understand that this delay affected the pace and overall enjoyment of your tour.
However, we would like to assure you that this was an exceptional situation and is not representative of the service we normally provide. Our private Versailles tours are usually carefully paced, personalized, and led with the historical commentary and attention reflected in our many positive reviews.
We are also very sorry that the visit to the gardens did not meet your expectations. Even under these difficult circumstances, we understand your disappointment and take your comments very seriously.
Please accept our sincere apologies for this unfortunate experience. We genuinely regret that circumstances beyond our control prevented us from providing the premium tour you had expected and that we usually deliver.

Our guide was very nice and knowledgeable!! Tour was well worth it. Lots of crowds and our guide kept us well informed.
Our tour guide was exceptional. Fabrice was very impressive. He had an extensive knowledge of history which enhanced our tour of Versailles. He was prompt, accommodating, and able to engage the youngest members of our family during our tour. I wish we had booked Fabrice for the full day tour. It has been the best part of our trip so far.
July 2026. From start to finish this experience was seamless, lively, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Chris.we saw the palace in all its glory.
Very disappointed to be told to meet the driver a half an hour earlier at 8:00 am and he didn't show up on time (more than 45 minutes late). We called Viator and they agreed to reschedule for the next day. The driver then called us and wanted to send an uber to pick us up and meet him where he was stuck in traffic. We declined and asked Viator to send a different driver because I could barely understand him and it was supposed to be a tour in English. They sent the same driver, and we had a very hard time understanding him the entire tour. We caught maybe 25% of what he said. Very, very disappointed after spending more than $1,000 for the tour.

PARISMATIC Tour
Our driver/tour guide was not given enough time between his morning and afternoon tour when we were picked up at the scheduled time of 8:30 we were told based on where our hotel was we would not be able to experience the entire tour we booked. As he had a second pick up on the other side of Paris at 1. So we were rushed through the palace with no time for the gardens at all and only 10 minutes at the end to run to the bathroom and look in the gift shop. We were at the palace for maybe 70 minute but the description was 2 hours. The guide was informative at the palace and not his fault the schedule was so tight.

The experience at Versailles was amazing. Our guide was informative and very knowledgeable about the history of palace and the kings and queens who lived there. Learned much more than in a standard group tour.

This private tour of the Palace of Versailles was one of the highlights of our trip to France. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the history of Versailles. He picked us up and dropped us off from our hotel, which saved the worry of a traffic delay and meeting at the appropriate time! Having a private guide made the experience so much more enjoyable because we could move at our own pace, ask questions, and focus on the areas that interested us most.
The palace itself is breathtaking, especially the Hall of Mirrors, the King’s and Queen’s Apartments, and the beautiful gardens. Our guide brought the history of Louis XIV, Marie Antoinette, and the French monarchy to life with fascinating stories and details that we never would have learned on our own.
The skip-the-line access was a huge benefit, saving us valuable time during a very busy season. The tour was well organized, and every detail was handled professionally.
If you’re visiting Paris and want to truly appreciate Versailles rather than just walk through it, I highly recommend this private tour. It was worth every penny and made our visit memorable, informative, and stress-free.

Kevin is very calm, personable, knowledgeable, and also a great driver. He truly knows the ins and outs of Versailles. He knows the best parking location, best photo spots, best shortcuts, and best secret restrooms throughout, and is very funny and personable while also being completely well-versed in the history of Versailles. He also came prepared with a microphone and earpieces so we could hear him more clearly over the wind and the sea of people.
We had the pleasure of having Chris as our driver and guide. He picked us up at our Vrbo apartment in Central Paris and then off to Versailles. The traffic was incredibly light on the way and he commented on that would likely not be the case on our return.
We had an incredible tour and his knowledge, sense of humor, perfect English and open to any and all questions about the property were very impressive.
The Paris 10k was happening that day and took nearly 2 hours to return to our apartment. He was incredibly professional and patient with the traffic and GPS that kept us getting us stuck in several location.
If I were to do the tour again I would hope we would be lucky enough to have Chris as our guide again.

Kevin was a great tour guide. He expertly navigated the Paris traffic and was able to park very close to the Versailles entrance. Once inside, he was very knowledgeable and guided us through the crowds.
A car service w/ guide as driver is a great way to go! Versailles is amazing-learning history and artistic details made the adventure delightful!
My niece’s top request was to see for Versailles. We were on a short time frame so we chose this tour. Our guide, Julian, was very informative from the start sharing the history of Paris on our drive to Versailles. He was very knowledgeable and guided us through the crowds easily. He always offered to stop and take pictures along the way. We would definitely recommend this tour and Julian!

This is the only way to see Versailles as it was crowded but our guide got us quickly thru the crowds and gave us a fantastic history tour.
