Top Versailles Private Sightseeing Tours

This was a wonderful day in Versailles. The meeting instructions to begin our tour were clear and accurate and Annie was a cheerful, friendly and helpful guide. She was informative about the history of the palace and the people who lived there. We all loved the golf carts tour of the extensive gardens at the beginning of the tour. The included shuttle connections between the Trianons and the Palace were good to have over long distances. Appropriate time was allowed for a coffee stop in the morning and for lunch. Some of our group opted to cycle between the attractions which meant our guide had to go with them and she had to rely on one of the rest of the group to take responsibility for a group ticket for shuttle transport for the rest of the party. This worked with the goodwill of all involved. However, I think issuing individual tickets for the shuttle would give more flexibility. Participants could then choose to spend as much time as they wished at the different attractions and be responsible for getting themselves to the final meeting point on time before entry to the palace. We all had a wonderful day, however, and would certainly recommend this tour.

Our guide and driver is Lucille. She is a friendly and knowledgable guide. And a very good and safe driver. We went to Monet’s house/garden first and it was so surreal to be finally there. The gardens is still abundance with flowers. It was a wonderful weather day albeit quite chilly but that is better than hot. Lucile told us many interesting stories about Monet’s life. After that we drove to Versailles and had a yummy lunch. We then visited the Palace and its grounds. It’s huge and so impressive. Lucile brought us around the palace grounds and it was just breathtaking. After that we went inside the palace and she explains each room to us. We completed the tour at about 3.50pm and she dropoff us at paris city about 4.30pm. There is one thing to feedback is the guide should have brought us to walk the main street outside Monet’s house. We could have spend 10-15mins there. We had plenty of time as we ended the tour at 4.30pm. I didn’t say anything there n then because i didn’t know how much time was needed at Versailles. But as an experience guide she should know. Just a small disappointment we didn’t get to walk the main street.

This tour was everything I had hoped for and much more. Julien was outstanding..incredibly knowledgeable, gracious, funny and patient. I toured with my parents..my mother has mobility difficulties due to multiple back surgeries and I specifically chose this experience so that we could be flexible according to her needs. Julien went out of his way throughout the day to secure a wheelchair when walking would be too much for my mother. He pushed her in the wheelchair through much of the garden at Giverny, and almost the entirety of our time at Versailles, all while providing amazing insight and history. The ease with which we entered and explored both sites was an incredible relief for me, as I just wanted my parents to see as much as we could. If Julien didn’t think a normal part of the tour was wise, we pivoted to something safer. Even on the drive, Julien would stop to show us important historical sites and breathtaking views. Giverny has always been on my bucket list..it was more beautiful than I ever imagined. Seeing my parents looked after by Julien as I would look after them was the most priceless part of the tour. Thank you for everything Julien, I’ll never forget your kindness!!
