The visit itself was very well done, an interesting guide showed us the house, gardens and wine making aspects (fermentation aging in barrels etc.) This was followed by wine tasting.
Only negative was getting back to Verona. Difficult to get a Taxi but the staff took us to a bus station from where we were able to get a bus back to centre of Verona. They should ensure that transport could either be included or was easily available when tours finished

Thank you for your kind review. We’re delighted you enjoyed the visit, the estate and the wine tasting. We’re sorry for the difficulty in finding a taxi. Unfortunately, taxi availability is managed by external providers and is beyond our control. Our team is always happy to assist where possible. We hope to welcome you again!

Easy to get to from Verona via bus, a short walk from the bus stop. Sofia was a great tour guide and wine tasting expert, she answered all of our questions and was a great host! I don't usually like white wine, but the one we tried was fantastic

We had some torrential weather which may have influenced how much tour happened but it was a great tour of the wine cellars and the tasting was informative and generous measures. We did get to see in the villa but only the one room so if you are looking to book then book for the wine and the villa is an extra. But the wine tasting itself was brilliant and thoroughly enjoyed.

Fantastic wine and a beautiful villa. For those traveling without a rental car, go to Piazza Brà and use a taxi to get to the villa. The vineyard staff is extremely helpful and will call a taxi to return you to the Plaza at the end of the tour. Fantastic experience all around; I cannot recommend it enough.

It was a wonderful afternoon spent getting to know about the wine region especially the original story on how Amarone was discovered and made. Guide was very knowledgeable and wine tasting is generous too.

Great wine tour with Zoe. She was thorough, friendly and knowledgeable. There were 2 ladies that arrived 45 minutes late to the tour and were quite demanding. Zoe handled this situation with grace even though they were rude.

It was a great tour and very beautiful grounds. Very easy to get to by bus or driving. The guide Magdalena was extremely knowledgeable. The family still operates this winery according to the guide. Its only about 30 minutes from the city center and the area opens up to beautiful wine country. Go for the tour drink the excellent wine and make a day of the area. The landscape is breath taking. Enjoy!

We wanted to surprise our friends to do a Bertani winery tour. First of all The Bertani winery was sold to a pharmaceutical company years ago, we found out after the fact. We requested an English tour the young inexperienced girl spoke very poor English she brought us to see the vineyards and inside of the villa where they were putting up a wedding venue. The barrel basement room which hasn’t been used in years is more of a museum and it smelled so musty. She took us to the wine tasting room and someone else took over to explain the wines in fluent italian, speaking so fast that I being of Iitalian heritage couldn’t catch on. It is definitely not a Bertani wine tour. This tour is highly misrepresented, the Bertani label and production was sold, the villa was kept by one of the brothers who is producing his own wine not Bertani wines and using this Villa to host events such as weddings.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for visiting us and for sharing your thoughts. We'd like to offer a few clarifications, as there seems to have been some understandable confusion.
Wine has been made on this estate since the sixteenth century, and the Bertani family continues here, without interruption, growing its own vines and making its own wines under the name Tenuta Santa Maria di Gaetano Bertani. This is not a famous name borrowed for a new venture - it is the same family, on its original land. A visit here is a true Bertani family experience. The estate is today considered by wine lovers, trade and press one of the most important names in Italy's enological history, and its villa one of the most beautiful in the region.
Our wines are crafted with purity of origin and modern technology in the cellar, distributed worldwide and appreciated for their style and quality.
We're sorry the English-language tour didn't fully meet your expectations, and we take your note to heart: welcoming international guests in clear English matters greatly to us, and the tasting should always be paced so everyone can follow along.
We'd also gently note that our cellar is fully restored and very much alive: barrels over two hundred years old alongside the newer casks in use today - a working cellar, not a disused space.
We would be sincerely glad to welcome you back one day
Best Regards,
Tenuta Santa Maria di Gaetano Bertani

This was a great trip! it is the most beautiful setting, the tour was interesting and it was lovely to meet the others from Germany, Sweden and New Zealand. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting and chatting to our new friends! We bought a bottle of their delicious Amerone which we haven't enjoyed yet but it made it back to the uk in one piece tucked away in the suitcase!!!

One of my favorite wine tours I've taken. A very easy taxi ride from Verona and the Villa will call you a taxi to come pick you up once it is done. I especially liked this tour because it wasn't about the making of wines but rather the history of the villa and the winemakers. It is family full of drama, love, lust, and everything else you feel would go into the passion of making wines. What a great experience and very happy we signed up for this opportunity. Also, the wine was delicious!

Very friendly and informative guide. Lovely estate dog.
Wines were lovely and the young guide new a lot about them. The house and gardens are beautiful. We had the 4pm booking and no one else was on the tour.

The tour was fantastic!!! All the family enjoyed so very much. The people very professional and with a great knowledge of the wines and history of the Bertani family. Also we had the pleasure to meet Mr. Bertani himself. Congratulations! Great job!

Complete waste of time. Very little of what was promised in your publicity material was actually delivered by the owners who seemed to have little notion of what we had signed up to and treated us as an inconvenient nuisance and distraction to the main activity of organising functions
