Verona Walking Food Tour

mja2649, Aug 2025
This was a very informative tour about the city and history of Verona. We walked for about 2 hours to see the sights and finished across from the arena where we started and had wine along with platters of bread, meat and cheese to eat. Sarah was our guide and did a wonderful job.

Very informative and interesting. Monica is an excellent guide. Ending with two lovely wines and a board of meat and cheese which were extremely tasty.

Not what we were...

Jennifer_C, Jul 2025
Not what we were expecting. It was primarily a walking tour and we were taken to a restaurant at the end of 3 hours of walking. No visiting local eateries along the way as was advertised. The tour was interesting and the guide was excellent - just not what we signed up for.

Enjoyable tour!

JadeIW, Jun 2025
We enjoyed the walking tour, especially the cable car and food tasting at the end! The only thing we had a problem with was finding the start point... "Galleria Rivoli" wasn't coming up on Google maps for me at the time, so after wandering around Piazza Bra and side streets and asking three locals who all sent us in the wrong direction, we found it 15 minutes late! Luckily, communication with Viator was quick and we managed to find our guide still on Piazza Bra. We did this tour in 38° heat and the guide was great at stopping in the shade.

Response from Host, Jul 2025

Hello, Thank you for sharing your experience! We're so glad you enjoyed the tour, the cable car, and the tasty finale. We understand that finding the meeting point can sometimes be tricky—we’ll work on clarifying directions further. Kudos for making it in the heat, and we hope to welcome you again! Best regards,

Great Tour!

Verona tour

Meeting location was easy to find and guide was excellent. More walking than I anticipated but had frequent stops. The cable car ride was good as you could get a nice view of the city from the top. At the end we sampled food which was very plentiful.

Tour was cancelled

Kim_G, Nov 2024
Tour was cancelled by Operator who asked if I wanted a refund or assistance with another tour. Requested another tour. No response. Then, requested a refund. Operator responded I’d receive the refund AFTER the tour time - the tour THEY had cancelled. 😅

Disappointed.

Lisa_D, Oct 2024
We were looking forward to our food since we had done food tours in Rome and Florence and we loved both of them. Unfortunately we showed up at our location 5 minutes late (it was raining and the sidewalks were slippery so we were moving a bit slower). We looked around for a few minutes trying to find our tour. Could not find anyone so I reached out to tour operator support. I was told our guide waited 10 minutes for us which was not true. We asked if we could meet them at the next stop and was told the tour operator turns off their phone. I am guessing the tour support had some idea of which locations the tour visited but they were no help whatsoever.

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Hello, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're sorry to hear that you were unable to join the food tour and that you couldn’t reconnect with our guide. While our guides typically wait a short time for late arrivals, they must proceed with the tour to respect the schedule for all guests. We understand that unexpected delays can happen, and we apologize if this experience fell short of your expectations. Our support team is always available to assist, though they may not have real-time updates on the tour's location once it begins. We appreciate your feedback and are working to improve communication in these situations. Thank you again for reaching out. Best regards,

Tour Well Done

Very nice tour. Our guide Paula was very knowledgeable about all the points of interest. She even took us to a Store’s bottom level to show us uncovered ancient Roman remains.

Fantastic way to learn about beautiful Verona. Thank you Sylvia-you were amazing.

Cynthia_S, Sep 2024
Sylvia was a wonderful tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly and kind. A fantastic way to delve into the history and culture of such a beautiful city. We loved every minute of this tour - and had the added bonus of our group of 8 friends being the only ones on the tour. The platters at the end were more than generous and a lovely way to relax after three hours of walking and soaking up the culture. Thank you Sylvia - absolutely top notch guide. Wonderful.

Beautiful City, Amazing Views.

Susan_H, Aug 2024
Wonderful tour with a local. Very interesting with a ride in the cable car. Amazing views over the city. Be warned lots of steps to get back down again. Plenty of time to take things in. It was 36c yesterday. So remember to take water. There is a fountain at the top also to get it for free. Our guide was a lovely lady with 2 sons. (Sorry l can't remember her name). The food and drink is at the end of the tour and was very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend. There was only 8 of us on the tour, it was very friendly and lovely to chat and here the different experiences.

A must-do in Verona!

Nardine, Jul 2024
Really great tour! Monica was a great guide - Very knowledgeable, shared so much info and gave us great insight about this beautiful city! You can tell she’s passionate about the city, and showed us nooks and crannies we would’ve never noticed had we walked the streets on our own. Visiting Verona through this tour made us truly appreciate this beautiful city to which we would love to return to and spend more time. And the food and local wine were delicious and plenty for a ‘light snack’! Great way to end the tour! Definitely recommend!

Excellent walking tour with food.

We had a great guide who was very knowledgeable on the history of verona. A beautiful town to explore. It was finished with a lovely food platter at the end, and two glasses of the local wines. Would highly recommend.

Our guide Mauro was very professional and explained everything He was great also the food and wine at the end of the tour was Better than we expected

Excellent walking tour of Verona!

Brian_W, May 2024
Our guide Francesa was so engaging and informative. Lots of little titbits of information along the way. So much so that when we were 2 hours into the walking tour, we thought we had only covered around half an hour of our experience. At the end of the journey we had the chance to sample some great wine and food. Well worth the booking!

Very enjoyable, small group tour.

Nicholas_B, Apr 2024
Our guide Mauro was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and he took us to places that steered clear of most of the larger tour groups.

Walking tour with food at the end

JUDY_P, Apr 2024
The walking along the quiet streets of Verona, away from the crowds. We misunderstood the description and thought this was a restaurant to restaurant walking tour. It’s a city tour with food at the end. Madeleine is a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable. We didn’t like the crowds at the funicular or Juliet’s house, but the views at the top of funicular were fantastic.

Walking tour

Hope_E, Mar 2024
The guide was very kind and knowledgeable about Verona - I would recommend her as a guide. However how this tour is billed is misleading - it is billed as a "food tasting and walking tour" - it is in fact a walking tour with a plate of salumi at the end as an after thought - we all expected to stop and taste things along the way (like the special torta of the area we saw at the bakery), but we did not taste anything for 3 hours and were given a plate of salumi at the end that the tour guide did not stay to share with us. You either need to add more tastings or change the tour name. I have done many "tasting" tours and this was not one.

Response from Host, Mar 2024

Hi Hope, I'm sorry to read that the experience didn't meet your expectations. We put considerable effort into crafting our tour descriptions, and the details you mentioned were accurately represented. The tour itinerary clearly states: "Relax over a charcuterie plate and wine tasting in lively Piazza Bra" and "Sample local cold cuts, cheeses, and wine in Verona’s main square." The local food tasting experience is indeed the final item on the itinerary, taking place at Piazza Bra once all other activities are completed. Here's an excerpt from the description: "Once you’ve worked up an appetite, it’s time for a generous local food-tasting experience in Bra Square. Verona’s delectable cuisine is famous around the world. You’ll get to taste the local delicacies including cold cuts, ham, and cheeses. These products have been made locally in small batches for hundreds of years. Learn about the history of these artisan delicacies and the process behind how they are made. Pair it with 2 different kinds of locally produced wine." I understand your disappointment regarding the walking part not including additional food sampling. However, it's important to clarify that we neither promise nor advertise such inclusions. As with anyone who books this tour, at the end of the tour, you were also part of the experience where you also tasted a platter of cold cuts, variety of cheeses and 2 different local wines from Verona. I hope this clarifies any misunderstandings, and I appreciate your feedback.

Perfect way to see the city

arredondoelizabethea, Dec 2023
We ended up having a private tour since we were the only ones who signed up. It was perfect saw a lot more than I expected our tour guide, Mauro, I believe was extremely knowledgeable. Out of all the tour I took on the trip this one was the one where we learned the most. We got to see the touristy areas and the local back roads as well. A lot of fun facts with good laughs and a delicious meal at the end. We left the food tasting so full we didn’t even have dinner that night. I highly recommend if you’re into history and a big beautiful charcuterie board.

Excellent
