Amazing local food tour in Tulum!

This was such an amazing experience. At multiple spots we had a selection of different options to choose from. Luis is very knowledgeable about the food from different regions in Mexico and even things we passed, such as spotting almond tree pods and describing how birds place them in the road to crack the hard shell open. We went to a Mayan restaurant which was so cool, I didn’t realize there are still authentic Mayan restaurants around. We also went to a restaurant that’s been open for 25 years for authentic mole, which I’ve always wanted to try but haven’t seen anywhere. He described the different cooking styles which resulted in the same ingredient tasting different. We passed a lot of excellent street art and were able to take pictures. We also went to a local market, where he answered our many questions and we were able to get souvenirs. There were options for mild to very spicy food/toppings so this will suit many palates. Several locations had vegetarian options. Luis’ English is excellent.

Luis was amazing! He was easy to talk to, had great stories about the city, brought us to many amazing locale places, and the food was wonderful. I would suggest to do this tour at the START of your Tulum trip to get a feel for the city and to ask questions. It was 100% worth it! :)

This was an amazing tour with Luis. We got to eat delicious food in authentic restaurants that we would not have found on our own. And as well we learned a lot about Tulum. Luis was a wonderful companion for the evening. I would highly recommend this tour as an introduction to Tulum.

Luis is the best guide. We enjoyed and learnt so much from him. Great stops on the tour and really interesting conversations in between! We loved the first and last stops most. Traditional Mayan food and ending with Al Pastor tacos. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting downtown Tulum.
