Lorenzo found spectacular lights!

Alison_F, Mar 2026
It was pouring rain in Tromso and we figured we’d just have to abandon hope of seeing the aurora. Nope! Lorenzo assured us there was a clearing near Finland — and he was right! We made two stops and saw a fantastic show at both. Everything was handled with utter professionalism.

Hi! Thank you so much for a warm review! We are glad to make our guests happy and the dreams come true! The weather can be challenging, ideed. But we always try our best! Wishing you fun future travels and you are always welcome back in our lovely city! And thank you once again for choosing us!

Well worth it.

Dress very warm and layer--it can get very cold out there. Be patient, you may have to wait awhile before seeing much, but the landscape and night sky are beautiful even without the aurora.

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and advice! You described the Arctic experience perfectly 😊 Warm layers and patience are definitely key when chasing the Northern Lights, and we’re happy to hear that you were able to appreciate the beauty of the landscapes and the night sky even while waiting for the Aurora to appear ✨ Sometimes the quiet atmosphere, the stars, and the Arctic scenery become just as memorable as the lights themselves. Thank you again for choosing Arctic Wild Tours and we hope to see you again someday in Tromsø!

A dud

The good: The staff were very nice and knowledgeable. The bus driver is extremely experienced and navigates the snowy roads easily. The bad: We did not get to see the Northern Lights due to weather, so we paid a lot of money to sit on a bus for 7 hours. This was entirely too long and not much fun. While bad weather is not the fault of the tour company at all, there were things that could have been done to make it a better experience. Would recommend not booking these tours unless you are fairly certain about the weather.

Response from Host, Jan 2025

Hi @cheri_m! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. For us, communication with our guests is very important, especially when the experience isn’t perfect. We completely agree that spending 7 hours on a bus without seeing the Northern Lights is tough. However, we are dependent on weather conditions. If the sky is blocked by clouds near Tromsø, we sometimes have to drive much further, even up to Finland, which can take up to 2.5 hours one way. So, considering both directions, it can result in up to 5 hours of driving. It’s not an easy task. When taking a Northern Lights tour, it's important to be prepared for such circumstances. Of course, it’s always better to go when the weather is favorable, but here in the Arctic, conditions can be very unpredictable, especially this season. For nearly two months, we’ve had to drive almost to Finland every day. So, it’s really a matter of personal choice. Thank you for recognizing our staff — they are truly experienced and dedicated. We also appreciate you joining us, and we hope this won’t be your last time here. Despite that challenging night, we hope you can still cherish the memories of the Arctic adventure. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Arctic again! Kind regards, The AWT Team

Aurora Tour

Rashmi_K, Jan 2025
Despite of many other operators canceling the tour due to bad weather, our tour operators took us far away to atleast have a glimpse of what Northern Lights look like . Though it was too cold but finally we could see them with hot chocolate in that cold night was soothing and cherry on top were the cookies. Aurora was not so magical for us:(

Response from Host, Jan 2025

Hi Rashmi! Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us! I completely agree with you that people come here for the strong light. Unfortunately, it is not strong every day. We cannot predict it; we can only try to chase it. Sometimes it’s an absolute green dragon, and other times just a tiny stripe. But all in all, you were lucky to have spotted that magical glimpse. Thank you for appreciating our warm setup. We hope you made great memories here in the Arctic, and you are always welcome for new adventures here again. Kind regards, team of AWT.

Epic Adventure, Fantastic Guide

Kateland_K, Dec 2024
It was our first time in Norway, with the big goal of seeing the aurora … and this tour didn’t disappoint. Lorenzo was our guide and he was epic! He took us to more secluded areas with no light pollution or a lot of people. We felt like locals getting to experience one of natures finest phenomenons. Lorenzo was also extremely accommodating, prepared, and knowledgeable. He took the time to take professional level photos of us with the aurora in the background, made a fire on a beach for us with hot coco, and told us why we get the aurora and how it works on a scientific level. It is evident that Lorenzo doesn’t see this as a job but as a passion. His love for sharing nature with us shined through in every detail. Overall, fantastic experience and would go again.
