It was an amazing experience to be able to float in cold water under the beautiful sky. Ingvar, the tour operator was professional, friendly and helpful. I will recommend that more people need to know the availability of such tours.

Although the premise of this experience is fantastic, my partner and I both had leaky dry suits which made this a wet and cold experience. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights during our float, but if they weren’t there this would not have been worth it. The hut was more a shack and we didn’t mind, but it was not well kept and seemed like just an obligation by staff. Would only recommend if your chance to see the lights is high and if you’re ok being on uncomfortable while you’re in the water.

Leaky dry suits should never happen — that's a core piece of safety and comfort gear, and if it's letting water in, that's a maintenance failure on our end, not something you should have had to deal with. We're glad the northern lights showed up, but you're right that the float itself should be a great experience on its own, lights or not.
We also hear you on the cabin. It's meant to be a simple, rustic space, but "not well kept" and staff treating it like an obligation is not the standard we want — that's on us to fix, both in terms of upkeep and how our team shows up for guests there.
We're taking a close look at our gear inventory to catch and replace suits like the ones you had, and we're addressing the cabin experience with our team directly. We'd love the chance to have you back for a version of this that actually delivers on the premise you came for.
Overall, highly recommended, a great experience !! but there are a few areas that could be improved:
The tour should be longer, as the time it takes to put on the suits reduces the actual time spent in the water, and in the end, you get very little time to enjoy the experience.
The suits and thermal layers provided should be cleaner. We found them dirty, and since they come into contact with your skin in certain areas, they should be better cleaned for hygiene reasons.

You're right that suiting-up time cuts into water time, and if the balance feels off, that's worth us looking at — whether that's streamlining the changing process or adjusting the schedule so guests get more actual time floating.
On the cleanliness of the suits and thermal layers — that's a fair and important point, especially given the skin contact. We take hygiene seriously and will make sure our cleaning process is being followed properly and consistently.

Expensive for the experience had. Guide was not engaged and actually rude. On phone the whole time, raw cinnamon rolls served so inedible. Gutted post this trip as very disappointed.

This is a must thing to do while being in Tromso! I had so much fun and this experience is so unique. Our guide on 20/03 was a French girl (I am sorry for not remembering the name) and she was so devoted. She took a great care and pictures for us! Thank you so much for making our activity so memorable!
Incredible experience. Don't pass this up. When and where would you ever do this again? It was a short 20 minute drive to the fjord cabin and we had a great time getting into the gear and getting into the water. We stayed much warmer than we thought! We also got to see the lights while we were floating which was really cool!
Great expierence - the floating is super relaxing, great views to the Stars and luckily also great northern lights.

We had a wonderful time ice floating! The team was super helpful and supportive. We were able to see some beautiful Aurora lights and had a very memorable experience! One of our favorite activities of the trip!

The Arctic Ocean Night Float was a magical and unforgettable experience! The guides ensured everything felt safe from start to finish, providing excellent communication before, during, and after the adventure. They supplied soft, warm overalls to layer over your clothes and under the dry float suit—pro tip: keep your snow pants on for extra warmth! Floating under the Arctic night sky, surrounded by pieces of ice, was surreal yet completely safe. The guides also captured incredible photos of everyone, included at no extra charge.
While you can float for up to an hour, most of us warmed up by the fire after about 30 minutes, enjoying delicious fire-warmed cinnamon buns and hot cocoa or relaxing inside the cozy cabin. Pickup and drop-off were punctual and smooth, even through heavy snow, making the 25-minute ride stress-free. With a small group of just eight, this is an extraordinary and breathtaking experience we very highly recommend!

This was such a great, unique experience. While we weren’t able to see the Northern Lights, we got to experience a beautiful snowfall. After, we had hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls cooked over an open fire.

This was a once in a lifetime experience! The short 20 minute drive from tromso was beautiful. The suits kept you pretty warm and the views while floating were unbelievable and majestic. So peaceful. Afterward we had hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls off the fire. It was extremely cold so I sat inside the cabin but there was a nice fire and seats around Ingvar was amazing. He even stayed outside to watch for the northern lights and came in to tell us they were out! Definitely recommend.

This was an amazing experience from beginning to end. It was a perfect mix of being exciting, fun, and once you start floating it is very relaxing. It’s a once in a lifetime experience to be floating under the stars and northern lights with the ice all around you. If you’re worried about it being scary or cold- it isn’t. You are aware that the water around you is cold, but it’s not uncomfortable at all. The warm cinnamon buns by the fire afterwards were a perfect end to the night. I highly recommend this very unique experience.
