Miki San is an excellent companion for the grand sumo tournament. She made the experience stress free, managed our time and movement inside the arena skillfully, and was thoroughly prepared.
One element we enjoyed was that she had prepared a binder with stats and notes for each wrestler and each bout, that helped us understand the significance of each match and the connection fans have with each wrestler.
Even visitors with no prior exposure to sumo will truly enjoy a tournament and attending with a guide like Miki San is the way to go.

Listen - the sumo is going to be an amazing experience anyway. But Hero was an amazing guide, full of knowledge and passion that shone through and made it so much more interesting. I loved learning and would highly recommend.

We had a fabulous afternoon at the Sumo Wrestling matches. Our guide for the day was Tadashi Yuki - he was absolutely fabulous. He helped us understand the rituals and the history and got us very excited about certain matches and wrestlers. My husband and I highly recommend this tour with Tadashi-San

I stumbled upon sumo as a teenager on TV. I swore that one day I would visit Japan to watch these incredible athletes. I can honestly say that Sanopy-san helped so much with this dream and I had one of the best days of my life that I shall never forget. The atmosphere was electric, the crowd roaring on their favourite warriors, every single match was intriguing. I think i was the luckiest person in the arena as I had Sanopy-san explaining each intricate detail to me (whilst answering all my many questions, apologies for so many!). Trust me when I say, this is one of the greatest sporting events, in one of the most wonderful sporting arenas on planet Earth! The seats were absolutely perfect and we could see all the action. We were taken to the sumo museum, an explanation of the ring and rules etc, it was fascinating. I just personally want to thank Sanopy-san for making my day so memorable. Thank you kind sir.
After watching Chiyonofuji Mitsugu 38 years ago, I finally lived my dream, do not miss this spectacle, it is incredible. Thank you Japan.

Guide: Wonderful!! The guide provided great insight on the tournament and answered every question we had throughout the afternoon. He was absolutely pleasant to deal with and I would recommend. Unfortunately I can not remember his name. Highly recommend attending a day of the Sumo Tournament.

Highly recommend ! It was so much fun - our guide was Mr Kiochiro Shimatamari, and he was fantastic!! He truly loves Sumo and is so knowledgeable! He truly made our time there so much more enjoyable through his own excitement and answering our abundance of questions!

Great experience as advertised. We met and were given an overview of the Sumo tournament & how it works. The guide was excellent, he provided us with notes and documentation to help us during the session. He also provided details during the session we attended. Fantastic experience. Great seats. We all loved it!

The Sumo tournament was great however the actual " tour" was poorly organized. Our guide did not confirm the names of people checking in. As a result, when we arrived, he had already left. Another guide found the error and placed us with another group. Halfway through the event, we were moved to our original group, meaning switching seats in the sumo arena with the party who accidentally claimed our original spot. The event was great, but poorly organized

I enjoyed every second of it. I’ve been watching Sumo on NHK for several years now but this was my first trip to Japan and the live show was fantastic. Our guide, Hiro was friendly, professional, and provided lots of information.

As described. Easy meet up point next to the stadium. Genuine paper ticket. Guide sits with you and explains simple things like how to read the schedules of matches. Buy a tournament guide ¥1000 for competitor details.

Suzuki was a great guide and the whole experience was awesome. It was amazing to see the sumo wrestlers in the flesh at grand tournament level. Everything was informative, punctual, comfortable and memorable!

This was one of those WOW experiences that I just could not believe what was happening before my eyes. What an extraordinary traditional sport that was so authentically led by our guide Yuki. You could tell that she had such passion about the sport and wanted the best for us all to experience the entire tournament. It made such a big difference knowing what was going on thanks to Yuki, she made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. We would’ve been lost without her to be honest! I want to go back so bad! Thank you Yuki!!

With Jeff as our tour guide we got great insight into Sumo and all its traditions. Jeff was also great company and gave awesome commentary on all the athletes, answered all our questions. The event itself was amazing. So glad to have had the chance to see the real deal.

Grand sumo tournament tour was exellent.
Our guide Jeff was very friendly and explain lot of things about sumo to us.
It was so much better experience to watch sumo with somebody ,who knows rules and history.

Great experience! We had a nice little group that was fun. Yuki did a great job explaining everything, she even prepared a sheet with additional info about the wrestlers.
It was a little pricey considering what a regular ticket for the tournament would cost (if you manage to get one) nevertheless 5* bc what you got was a great experience
