Such a fabulous day out with husband and friends.
Our tour guide Christophe was fabulous!
Highly recommend this trip.
Morning spent in Laguna - coffee and pastries for breakfast were marvellous.

Staying on the south of the island, we were keen to find a tour which showed something of the north, and with wine and food involved, and this tour was a great find.
As others have said, it is likely a very long day/early pick up depending on where your hotel is. Having been on other tours during the fortnight, this seems par for the course with Tenerife traffic, where it takes about an hour to travel across the south in rush hour, and 1-2 hours to travel north along the TF motorway, but as long as you account for this in your day, Viaje Teide did a good job. We were picked up at 7.15am as one of the earlier pick ups, and arrived at the first tour stop appx 9.20am. It's worth noting you can't eat on the bus, so nab breakfast beforehand (or at the first stop)!
Iskra was a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide, as well as organised, many thanks. Information in our case given in English and Spanish throughout the whole tour based on the languages spoken by attendees.
Of the three stops, visiting the old capital of San Crístobal de La Laguna for 40 mins was brilliant. Free time- we wandered, had a coffee and look around. Option for paid entrance to the churches if you wish.
The first winery at El Sauzal (Casa del Vino) was also excellent. A short 7 min film about the role of the Canaries in wine history, then tasting of three wines mixed with cheese. We bought a bottle of the rosé.
The second visit (Bodega Monje) was much more mixed. Firstly was a lunch in their restaurant, followed by a winery tour. The lunch was decent and clearly aimed to showcase bits of Canarian cuisine. Calling it 4-5 courses is very misleading (one being a roll and dips, and one being coffee, for example). It's a decent 3 course meal, with 2 glasses of wine (white and rosé) served during. While they introduced that (e.g) the white was one of their dry white varieties, this was before the wine tour, so it was hard to match to the range of what the wine tour guide later discussed. Tellingly, no one from the group bought anything from the gift shop at Bodega Monje (nor was there really chance to), which seemed like a missed opportunity when taking a group of wine-fans to a winery. I would have rathered skip the two glasses of wine until after the meal and during the tour, or at least had chance to know which wines we were tasting. Given that we finished the tour at 2.30pm and started driving southbound at that stage, it feels like there would have been room to add that extra 10 minutes (although admittedly this early departure is needed for some south western hotels to return by 5pm).
Overall, a good day

A Full Day Wine and Dine Adventure
We had a great 9 hour Tenerife wine immersion // Our guide did a great job going over the history of wine in the Canary Islands // The 2 wineries visited were very representative of the wines of the region // La Laguna was fun to visit // Very well done tour //

I only gave this 1 star as 0 isn’t an option. Our tour guide didn’t tell us anything about the island as we travelled around for multiple pick up points and then dropped others off at the port for other trips. Once we were finally on our way, all he told us (many times) was about the airports and why there are 2; nothing about the island other than the devastating aircraft crash that is the reason for the second airport. It is titled 2 Winery visits, it isn’t. We went to one place that sold wine and tasted 3 wines, but no explanations on any of them and the whole process was rushed. Then we went to the winery for lunch. The lunch was not 4 courses and came with one white and one red wine. None of the food was explained and there was no further wine tasting, but the option to purchase other products and wines that we couldn’t taste. At no point did the guide interact with us at lunch, he sat on a table and ate and drank wine. The tour around the winery was very good and run by a young girl from the vineyard family. It was the best part of the day. The main guide was just a loud mouthed joker.
Please don’t waste your hard earned money and holiday time on this tour. If you want a wine tasting experience, book it privately with the vinyard.

Probably the lunch and wine tasting. However what a waste of time if the winery doesn’t ship wine. We would have purchased if it shipped.

The tour was terrible. The guide was rude he honestly didn't even give us information about the island or the wineries or its history. He only talked about the airport and a plane crash over and over Terrible experience, he also claimed the chief export (canary plátano were not exported from the island which is easily verifiably false. He also said many other false things.
The guide admitted he only got the job because he told them he spoke 5 languages. No one asked him for proof or knowledge of the island. He also got drunk and then gave no information for over 3 hours.
The tour is supposed to be 8 hours but was almost 12 because the guide refused to drop us at our hotel to go 40 minutes the opposite direction to get dropped at his car first because he was drunk. When asked about it he accused me of lying and was rude even though I was on Google maps showing him proof.
Terrible experience save your money and books different tour.

The tour was titled 4 course lunch. The guide said we’d get three courses and that was what we got. The description also said we would get cheese and wine tastings at two wineries followed by lunch with wine. We tasted 3 wines at the Casa del Vino but at the second winery we only got the meal with a couple of glasses of wine followed by a tour of the cellar focussed primarily on all the wines they had available for sale. In summary, this is one of the worst tours I’ve been on when compared with the description provided.

The Wine trip started with a visit at La Laguna which was far too long. 1 hour and 45 minutes to explore the small town on your own. This was followed by a nice tasting at a nice place, but without production. The final stop was at a local wind producer. We were expecting some guided tasting there as well, but some wine bottles was just placed at our table to pour ourselves at lunch. The “gourmet lunch” was a disappointment. Very simple soup and pulled pork was put on the table. The minivan that picked us up (19 persons) was in terrible shape. Water from the AC was constantly dripping on the passengers that had to sit with napkins to stop being wet by the dirty water. The vehicle broke down going up the steep roads so we all had to get out. Not safe at all! After complaining to the guide, the minivan was replaced but we had to wait two hours before the transfer back. So instead of 8 hours it was a 10 hour tour with a lot of waiting time. The guide was not to blame, but the total arrangement did not at all live up to our expectations and compared with other Viator trips we have attended.

The tour was exceptional! Great tour guide with Christopher and talented driver Antonio. The stops throughout the tour were well spaced and pac d so we didn’t feel rushed, which allowed us to fully absorb and enjoy each stop and especially the tastings and their respective history. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Tour guide was very informative and fun! Wineries were beautiful and lunch was delicious. Definitely recommend

I went on the wine tour with my two elderly parents. Our guide, Mia, was exceptionally knowledgeable, patient, and funny. She kept everyone engaged. The views were magnificent. I loved exploring the historic town with a bustling market. We were able to start our day with fresh bread and cheese. At the first vineyard we sampled three wines. We also had an incredible spread of cheese. At the second vineyard we went on a wine tour and then ate one of the best meals I’ve had on the island. Each table of 5-6 people were given three bottles of wine to enjoy with lunch. For all the food, wine, and views the price you pay is unbelievably reasonable! Thank you for being so kind and patient with my parents Mia. You made our day so special!

Small delay with pick-up, but after it everything went perfectly. It was the second time we have participated on this tour, but this time our guide was much better - not only better but fantastic good - than the earlier. The information we received during the walk was very interesting, not more than necessary but not less then needed. The wines were excellent and the pork, received for lunch, was amazing.

A great day with great people.
The guide and driver were superb. My husband has mobility issues and they insisted he sit in the front row to help with his exit and entrance. We didn't have such compassion, respect and understanding on other trips that week. They also pointed out the winery tour might not be suitable for him and so we left him on the terrace with a glass of wine whilst the rest of us did the tour which was incredibly informative and atmospheric. And hubby was very happy with his glass of rose and the incredible view.
The guide was knowledgeable and helpful and got really stuck in with helping out with the teams at all the venues.
The two wineries were very good and the lunch was absolutely superb. We were all in agreement on that. A lovely touch: the chef came round with this amazing side of pork and explained it had been slow cooked for 14 hours in the oven. It also helped we were on a table with a couple from Amsterdam and a Mother and Daughter originally from New York and now in Texas and London respectively. The conversation was varied, fun and so insightful. You never know on these occasions whether you're going to be blessed or fated with your company. We were very much the former.
A smashing day, excellent value for money and an excursion not to be missed.

We had a great day out in Tenerife a place I didn’t realise they had vineyards and made wine. Very good wine but don’t export it as they only make a relatively small amount. Good guide, lovely views, excellent company on the Tour very mixed age group 20 to 75 urea’s old. Very enjoyable trip.

This experience was a mixed-bag.
The good. Our tour guide, Christopher, was wonderful. Very friendly and great to chat with. The wines we tasted were nice and the lunch was delicious and generous. Our group was also a lot of fun!
The bad. Because we were staying on the north of the Island, the tour company was unable to provide a pick-up. They did offer us a refund if this would have been a problem, but we decided to take a taxi to the start of the tour since it was only a 20 minute drive. The tour arrived 30 minutes late and there was no guided tour of La Laguna (I think we misunderstood). Instead, we were immediately given 90-minutes free time to walk around. We had already been in the town for 1 hour so this felt like a waste of time, especially since we had arrived early so as not to be late for the rest of the group. I had hoped to learn a little bit more about the town.
We then travelled to the wineries which were lovely, but the information given was very basic.
Because we did not make use of the bus from the south of Tenerife, the $76 price tag per person felt very expensive for some wine samples and lunch and we paid nearly €70 euros for the taxis! As I said before, the company did give us the chance to cancel, but I don't think we appreciated just how poor value this tour would be without the bus transfer from the south. I think this could be made clearer.
So if you are based on the south of Tenerife and don't want to drive yourself and would like to see a bit of the north of the island, then I think would have been a fantastic day out! But if you are based in any of the northern towns, I would try to find something more locally. In short, we should have just asked our hotel. Also - don't expect a huge amount of information at any point. For some people, that is perfectly alright, but for others it may not be.

It was well organised. First stop as part of wine tour was good, wine museum and shop. Monje was disappointing; the food was okay but the winery was over rated. I guess options for wine are limited in Tenerife however time on tour would have been better spent in the wine museum. Trip back was terrible - guide was dropped off part of the way and the non English speaking driver got lost and didn’t know where he was going.
Wouldn’t really recommend but as far as wine tours go it is perhaps the only option so far in Tenerife.
Allison_H, May 2023
Very knowledgeable guide, great wine and the lunch was exceptional. Stunning views of the north of the island
Deborah_O, Apr 2023
The tour guide was great! Spent too much time touring the town as we did not have time to shop there. The wine tasting and dinner experiences were terrific! During the second wine tasting, we had the four=course lunch which was delicious (i.e., soup, bread, cheese, and pulled pork and wine)! Didn't have time to purchase wine at this place unfortunately.
The bus ride diminished the whole experience because it was more than 1.5 hours, poor air conditioning, and we were seated shoulder to shoulder. We could not open the windows. It was especially uncomfortable on the return ride to the hotel after eating and drinking wine.

Fairly chaotic arrangements for meeting up, but got into its stride once everyone collected. Decent wines with knowledgeable hosts. Long day (8am to 6pm) but got to see north part of island. “Gastronomy” is perhaps too strong a word and 3 rather than 4course lunch, but genial guide and good company (with a willingness to ‘go with the flow’) made this a fun day.
Ilona_K, Mar 2023
Thank you for a wonderful day. I am totally impressed with the town of La Laguna, will definitely come back here. Also the wine tasting at Casa de Vino del Tenerife and lunch at Bodegas Monje were great. I really recommend it if you want to relax and have a great day.

If you are located i Los Gigantes - forget this trip. 11,5 hours from pick up 0710 to drop off 1845! This could be solved by driving from the last winery and returned around the west coast. This change would have increased the value of the the trip. On the second winery we only got one glass for trying three different low standard wines. That's not good enough for a wine tasting. The wine setup was not paired with the food. On the positive side the guide shared a good portion of knowledge with the participants. Enjoyable people participating.

All in about 9 hours including pick up and drop off but did not get to stop by Candelaria as the description stated. We spent over 1.5 hours at Laguna, which is beautiful. Then we headed to Casa Del Vino and tasted 3 wines with small samples of cheese. Our third stop was lunch and wine tasting at Monje which again was too much time spent indoors. Both wineries had excellent wine. However, both tastings included average table wine from the respective wineries, even though they both have way better wines on their menu (a la cart). They don’t like to give out the a la cart menu to tour groups unless you specifically ask and pay for it separately. Overall I still recommend this trip as a way to see northern part of Tenerife.
Alison_M, Dec 2022
The excellent lunch was in in a beautiful setting.
The wines , cheeses, honey and snacks were lovely.
The information about the history of the region and the production of wine was interesting.
Rona_T, Nov 2022
On this tour, the trips to La Laguna and the two wineries were really great. We got to taste 3 wines at the Casa del Vino and then had a substantial lunch with lots of wine at the Monje winery. The tour at Monje was also very interesting. The main reason I’ve marked this tour down is the shambolic pick up (with folk being picked up at some hotels and deposited at others) which meant we’d been on the bus for over 2 hours before we made our first stop. The journey back also took around 2.5 hours due to a detour to drop people off in Santa Cruz meaning we hit traffic. So the 8 hour tour ended up being over 10 hours - a very long day trip.

Tour guide was friendly and helpful.gave us good history details of everything on route.
