We had an incredible tour of Taormina. Loved the city, learned so much, and had a lovey day!
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and the country of Sicily (he’s Sicilian). He shared a perfect amount of history and historical context interspersed with warm and wonderful insights into the people and culture of the place. Everywhere we went people knew Rosario. We met local shop and restaurant owners and the restaurants he recommended were amazing and we were treated like special guests.
We spent the morning touring with him and then had the afternoon and evening to explore and enjoy the historical district of Taormina which was a perfect day.
I would highly recommend this tour and our guide Rosario.

We had an incredible tour today, such a perfect blend of history, scenery, and local insight. We learned so much about Sicily’s rich past, from the Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans, to the Spanish and modern day Italians. Chiara’s knowledge of architecture and language was especially impressive, and she gave great recommendations for restaurants and reservations. The Greek theater was a real highlight, and her excellent English made everything so engaging and easy to follow. Highly recommend!

Jerry was a phenomenal guide. He’s well versed in the history of the area, but is also well known by many of the locals. He is a philosopher who tries to capture the essence of life and enjoy life to the fullest. He recommended lunch where we had the best pizza we’d had in Italy. Truly a pleasure meeting him and spending time with him in Taormina.

Chiara is extremely knowledgeable and provided a very interesting and thorough history of Taormina and the architecture of the area.
Our tour was a little under 2 hours (I thought it was between 2-3), and in reviewing the itinerary provided in the description, we were not taken to Palazzo Corvaja or Palazzo Duchi San Stefano.
I feel the tour was a bit overpriced for the time we got.

Actually the Palace Corvaja is closed and I could show it only from outside. The durarion of the tour depends on different variables, also according to the pace of my guests, that's why I cannot be precise. I hope you can keep a nice memory of the tour anyway.

Chiarra was an excellent guide. She focused on the high points of Taoromina's history. Jewish Quarter, peoples who held the town over the ages, WWII and the Greek amphitheater. She was very informative and passionate about the subject matter.

We done the tour with our guide ,a Taormina native, Gerry on 18.10.24. It was done at a leisurely pace and he covered all of the local highlights with detailed historical background information which was an excellent introduction to the locality. Would highly recommend this tour and Gerry in particular.
