This was a very well thought out, informative, and fun adventure. Jimmy was very knowledgeable about everything we encountered and was great at giving explanations and background on things. I found myself relaxing and just enjoying the experience. I would definitely recommend. The mini bus was comfortable, there were ample clean, rest stops. The food was exceptional and the wine education and tasting was great. We even got to see some local wildlife. I would definitely recommend this!

This tour is so much more than the description leads you to believe. From the tour of the Fish Market to breakfast at the river and, of course, the three lovely boutique wineries, you will not be disappointed. Jimmy is a natural born chef and tour guide. He provides an invaluable stream of knowledge and information that only adds to your experience. And the food he prepares is exquisite and an excellent accompaniment to the delicious wine tastings.

Absolutely Fabulous! If you like food and want to explore Aussie wine, this trip with Jimmy is for you! The fish market is interesting and beautiful..and more than just fish. Then the breakfast he cooks the group in a park overlooking a bay is so picturesque. We visited 3 boutique wineries and Jimmy cooked and brought the food in to pair with the wines. He is a great guide with a good mix of historical facts, cultural facts, great story telling, and a phenomenal chef. The grilled asparagus with truffle oil paired perfectly with the white. The oyster with finger limes from the fish market with the semillion, etc. You will not leave hungry or thirsty. (And there’s a good chance you’ll spot some wild kangaroo). It’s a full day. When you need or want a day away from the typical touristy things of Sydney, book this tour!!!

Jimmy crafted the most lovely food and wine experience! The food was fantastic and fresh….the wineries were beautiful with great wine variety. Each tasting was 5 generous pours! We also got to see wild kangaroos in the vineyards!
We had an absolutely wonderful day with Jimmy. He gave us an awesome experience to remember Australia. We went to the superb Sydney Fish Market and visited three unique wineries. Jimmy prepared delicious food for us throughout the day. We had Australian foods prepared in an excellent manner. It was fun chatting with our fellow travelers and hearing about unique Australian customs, food and experiences.
Wonderful trip, plenty of wine and plenty of fabulous food. Jimmy is a super host. Highly recommend this tour. A++++
Marvelous experience! Jimmy was very good at explaining things along the way to the Hunter valley as well as creating some fantastic food to pair with the wines! The fish market was an added benefit as well!
The trip was brilliant once we got on the bus, just don’t use Viator.
We were not staying at an hotel in the centre of Sydney so opted to be picked up at the first stop of the tour, the fish market. We spent a couple of hours finding this pick up and were directed to a corner of an exit road from a freeway in the middle of nowhere! Thankfully , we had time to change this pickup to a more convenient one in the centre of Sydney. When we were picked up we were taken as planned to the fish market where the coach parked up in a lay-by at the fish market, why was this not the spot to be picked up if this was the most convenient place to be picked up?

If you want to do the Hunter Valley wine experience this is the way to do it. Jimmy did a fantastic job and cooked us some delicious food.
The region overall only makes a few types of wines, so we had a lot of dry white wines and dessert wines which aren’t my personal favorite. I probably would have been disappointed with the region overall if not for Jimmy and his delicious food!

Excellent food and commentary by Jimmy. Hunter Valley is very charming. The chef-led experience really tied it all together, making for a number of tapas-portion bites nice wine pairings.
Starting in the early hours at the new Sydney Fish Market to tour and pick up some provisions for the day ages the tone. A full day of small delicious bites with 3 wine tastings makes for a thoroughly enjoyable day.

Curated experience that is NOT a basic hop on wine tour bus thing. Local food pairings were delicious. Loved an early morning stop at the newly opened fish market building
Jimmy gives it his all from start to finish. We’ve been on over a dozen food and wine tours - this was one of the best. 11hrs, three wineries, and great communication through out.
Always ample time between stops, nothing rushed, always a good bathroom, nothing I would change.
If you and your partner are looking to meet other people, see outside of Sydney, drink wine, eat great food and have great accommodations - book this tour!!!
Chef Jeffrey it's an incredible tour guide very comfortable, large van and a fun person to be with. He works harder than any tour guide I've ever been with. His food is amazing and he goes through great lengths to give you gourmet experience.
After being picked up at your hotel, you head out from Sydney, stopping at the new Sydney Fish Market where you can get a nibble, while your guide, Jimmy, picks up lunch fixings. Continuing north, you do a short climb while Jimmy prepares breakfast al fresco, then head into the Hunter Valley where you will stop at three wineries for EXTENSIVE tastings, often with a variety of gourmet food items paired with the wines you are sampling, all prepared by Jimmy in his van/mobile kitchen. By late afternoon you are full, and a little tipsy, and enjoy a quiet ride back to your hotel in Sydney. What makes or breaks a tour like this is the personality of your guide. Jimmy is a one-man operation, friendly and polite to the extreme, making sure all his guests have a great time. He should get a lot more than the maximum number of stars Viator allows, and if you do only one excursion out of Sydney it should be this one. You’d be a fool to miss this superlative experience.
A very good experience. The new Sydney Fish Market was amazing. Breakfast prepared by Chef Jimmy was OK. Lunch was fantastic 5 star. I highly recommend this excursion.
We’ve wine tastes all over the world and many times on a daily tour. Jimmy was amongst the best! While the wines were good and Jimmy picked excellent locations, the real highlight was the gourmet food that he prepared to pair with most wines. Truely outstanding and as good as any restaurant that we visited in Sydney. A+ to Jimmy the tour guide!
This tour was fantastic. Jimmy was a wonderful host. Great food and nice wines. It is a special way to see what the area around Sydney is like. The Hunter Valley is worth seeing. Much better to have a guide driving when visiting 3 wonderful wineries. We were lucky to be on the trip on the day that the new spectacular Sydney Fish Market opened.

I did the hunter valley wine and food pairing experience with Jimmy. It was an exceptional experience! Jimmy was very personable, informative, and fun. The spots on the trip were great and I enjoyed all of them. The food was so exceptional food paired with the wine. I left full and satisfied. I would definitely recommend for a day trip outside Sydney!
I am old enough to be an active retired person and having made my living in the restaurant and wine industry, both as owner and hands on worker, I can tell you that this winery tour is informative, innovative, entertaining and absolutely delicious. Jimmy, our tour operator, is a gourmet chef and lays on course after delicious course of delectable wine paired food. We visited three different wineries, each featured house made Australian wines with Hunter valley Semillon as the star.
All of the wineries poured at least, 5-6 different red and white wines and all were very good. But what made this tour so different was that Jimmy, using his on board the bus kitchen, had tasty cuisine paired with that winery’s wine. I’ve had food paired with wine served by wineries ( sometimes at great expense) but never like this.
Truly a movable feast. Don’t miss it.
