Tour for Italians only

The tour would have been much better if the guides actually spoke English as advertised. Our original guide was great however each location had a different guide and only one actually spoke english and provided the same thorough explanation that was in Italian. Would also suggest entry fees be covered instead of lunches or at least have a menu of the set lunches provided.

Amazing Sicily

My wife and I had a fabulous time on this tour from Sept 7, 2025 for 8 days. We were the only 2 English speakers on this tour, but we made great friendship with all the other lovely new Italian friends despite our Italian language barrier. Our 8 days were filled with fun and laughters. It was a very well organized tour. Our two guides, Antonella and Alexandra, provided good information about the places we visited in both languages and they looked after us very well. We got to see many beautiful highlights all around Sicily. The coach we travelled in was spacious and comfortable. The price of this tour is very reasonable. The hotels were comfortable and the included meals were plentiful. I will highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to visit Sicily.

My husband and I traveled with two of my sisters and their spouses. We were pleasantly surprised with the thoroughness of this tour. Our guide Alessandria was excellent and she did a great job of relating Sicily history in English. There were 26 of us on the tour and 8 of us spoke English, the rest spoke Italian. I cannot forget to mention our very capable bus driver. he managed those narrow, twisting roads with great talent. The food feast everyday for lunch (and some dinners) was outstanding and the serving sizes were large. We had to restrain ourselves from eating too much of each course served, but that was hard with such delicious food. We really appreciated the local flair presented with lunch in a different city everyday. The only suggestion I have for change, is to include more local current cultural activities like a local farming community where we would visit the farm; local wineries that we could visit; possible local education facilities. Ruins and old churches are very interesting, but an occasional break from that would be appreciated. I'm sure there are many other ideas that can be pursued. Thank you for an excellent tour of Sicily.

Don’t book this tour without reading this first

Do NOT BOOK this tour unless you can speak Italian. We booked this with the understanding that the tour guides and drivers could speak English. Not so!! We were with 4 other couples, all Italian speaking, which made it very isolating during the long long bus trips from one place to another. On top of it all we would get a “guide” that spoke a few lines to us about what we were seeing then went on to talk about the site for 10-15 minutes in Italian. When we contacted the tour operator they implied it was our fault that we choose to be on a tour with Italians which was not what the brochure lead us to believe. We spent our time using Google translate with our tour group to help us understand what was going on throughout the day. In addition to that each day you are given lunch which THEY choose for you. It’s salty and just not good in general. If you don’t insist on ordering off the menu then you’ll get fish and more fish. Finally, on our return to Catania we were put at a hotel way out in the middle of nowhere (again no communication was given about this) and the rest of the group (all Italians) were dropped at the original hotel in the city center. We had to pay 60 Euro’s for a cab because Catania has limited trains or buses and due to our location we only could get a cab. You HAVE to book the night before or you’re SOL. Had we not had a conversation with one of our group we would never had known this. This company was horrible from start to finish with communicating and did nothing to help us with the days events. If you book youve been warned. PS. most of the reviews you see are translated from Italians who lived the tour.

This was a fantastic tour of Sicily! The tour guides, the itinerary, this particular group (mostly Italian), the smaller group size (we were 24 in total) and the accommodations, all made this tour special. Highly recommend this tour for those who have not been to Sicily.

A great tour but some concerns

I booked this tour because it stated English and other, which I assumed was Italian. Some of the tour was in English but not all. The tour group was small, only 5 of us. Two Australians and 3 Italian ladies. The guide for the first 2 days spoke English. After 2 days the guide departed and we had local guides. Some spoke English and others did not. One guide was German speaking. After a grumble to the driver we did get English speaking guides that were excellent. However the driver was excellent and although he spoke only a little English he tried very hard and did a great job. Fortunately the 3 Italian ladies were lovely and they were very inclusive and made us welcome. One lady spoke some English and acted as an interpreter. She was fabulous. The tour content and places visited was excellent. The accommodation and food was excellent. The van (a Mercedes) was excellent. The driver was excellent. It was very good value for money. My wife and I did enjoy the tour and had a great time. However if you are set on an English speaking tour then I would consider carefully. If you are flexible and adaptable then this is the tour to do. Communication by the tour agent was poor. She failed to advise that the final night in Catania was not at the hotel of the first night. It was a lovely hotel a bit of distance from down town. I needed to book an airport transfer at the last moment, which the driver kindly did for me.

The rich history of Sicily with all the different waves of people influencing its culture, food & architecture was like visiting several countries ( Greece, Spain, Italy, France ) in one island !!! It was an amazing experience! our guide , Antonella was an epitome of patience, and a wealth of knowledge ( had to interpret in both English & Italian) ; the trip offered a variety of places to stay - coastal / beach & city & the food at the places we ate for lunch were great 👍

Tour of Sicily

This tour is operated by a very professional travel agency. They showed their professionalism from the moment I landed in Catania - starting with my pickup and taking me directly to my hotel, where everything was already pre-arranged for me. Then the guide (Antonella) met the group at the hotel for the orientation the evening before tour began. Tour devices and headsets were provided - this makes the tour great, as you can hear the guide this way within distance. Antonella spoke perfect English and translated everything from Italian to me - word to word! Amazing! She was extremely attentive, kind and a pleasure to spend a week with! All instructions were very clear and the luggage pick up arrangements are done very professionally - where the bus can not reach the hotel in Catania, the other driver came with the van and picked up everyone’s luggage and delivered it to a hotel! Itinerary of the tour was great! - all places visited were beautiful. It was a mix of beautiful cities, archaeological sites and gorgeous beaches. Hotels were very nice - centrally located, all lunches were included, plenty of food (with wine!) and very delicious! I don’t eat onion and each restaurant accommodated me with preparing separate dishes without onion for me! I also enjoyed the food tastings which were included on the tour - we tasted chocolates, wines, nuts, honey and almond cookies - it was amazing! Stefania (from the agency) was constantly in contact with me, inquiring how my tour was - I really did appreciate it! Also, the agency arranged for a Covid test for me (it was very challenging to find a laboratory in Catania in the summer!) and a transfer there, as well. The driver helped with translation at the test and was with me all the times until the test was completed! Transportation for the tour - an extremely professional driver who knows the roads very well and a very comfortable, well-air conditioned bus! I also bought extra 1-day tours from them - all very interesting. Please do inquire. Al in all - I give this tour a 5* review! I bought it on Viator just like that and was just lucky with the professionalism of this agency. Highly recommended!!!

日本人としてこのツアーに参加した感想などを投稿します。英語ツアーですが、ガイドさんの英語はイタリアなまりがあるため、観光案内の聞き取りはあきらめました。地球の歩き方「南イタリアとシチリア」必須。シチリアを巡るための、ホテルとバスのためのツアーと割り切れば大丈夫です。エトナ山の火口めぐり、アグリジェントやセリヌンテなどのギリシャ神殿、パレルモの礼拝堂やモンレアーレの聖堂、カサーレの古代ローマ別荘のモザイク床などみどころが沢山。また、ノート、ラグーザ、トラーパニ、エリチェなど、このツアーでなければ訪れることがないであろう小さな町を歩くこともできます。旅程表と実際が異なった部分がいくつか。旅程表では、パレルモ観光で最も重要な「パラティーナ礼拝堂」と「ノルマン王宮」に行くことになっていましたが、実際にはツアーに組み込まれておらず、自由時間に行くしかありませんでした。入場券購入のために並んだこともあり、「パラティーナ礼拝堂」は短時間で観るだけになり、「ノルマン王宮」は時間がなく観ることができませんでした。旅程表では、エトナ山は2000mまで行くことになっていましたが、実際にはオプションで2900mまで行くことができました。そのため、ウィンドブレーカーなしで、2900mまで行って火口巡りをすることになり、風が強くて大変でした。旅程表では、夕食の有無がわかりにくいのですが、４泊目から６泊目は夕食がつきます。旅程表では、最終日にカターニアのオプショナルツアーがありとなっていましたが、実際には初日開催のみでした。日本のツアーであれば入場料込みのツアー代金ですが、このツアーには入場料は含まれておらず、別途必要です。また、各市の宿泊税も必要です。その代わり、昼食はパレルモ以外すべてワイン付き。夕食にもアルコールが付きます。アルコール好きには嬉しい!
