We were the only British couple in a party of 27 Italians which was a bit of a surprise but all the more entertaining for it! They were a very friendly and accomodating bunch. As they were travelling from a hotel in Fontane Bianche we were picked up by Anthony ( " Nino" ) in Ortigio and taken to the coach and ropped back later. Nino was so lovely and helpful throughout and a brilliant guide. He gave us a personal English commentary at the end of his Italian one which meant that we got to sit at the front of the coach and received a very personal service. He was also very understanding of my wife's struggle with the pace ( we're 75 and there's a fair bit of uphill walking and a timescale to meet! ) and always made sure she was ok and had a place where we could meet back with her if some of the steps were too much. And the two towns are an absolute delight. It is a bit of a rush to get round it all in a half day but well worth it.

This tour was the worst tour we’ve ever taken in years of international travel. It was NOT as advertised, a tour devoted to Montalbano, but rather a tour of endless churches in three cities with an occasional mention of Montalbano. The guide, who seemed a lovely person, was not fluent at all in English (our tour was advertised as an English tour), nor in French, to the dismay of a French couple who clearly had signed up for a tour in French. Of the six couples on the tour (4 of whom were Italian), only we seemed to think it was going to be a Montalbano-based tour. The guide recited dates and architects as we went along but gave no commentary or context otherwise. During the very lengthy bus rides between towns she chatted in Italian with the Italian tourists but otherwise gave no information as we rode along endlessly.
My impression is that the tour operator cobbled together a general tour covering Ragusa, Modica and Scicli with our supposed “Meet Montalbano!” Tour. Last but not least, the tour lasted not the 8 hours as advertised but over 11 hours. It was a total waste of our time and a complete disappointment. My husband suggests that we be refunded our money given that the tour we received in no way met the description of the tour we paid for.

One of the best days out I have ever had. My wife and me are mega fans of Montalbano and we were not disappointed.
The three beautiful towns of Radusa, Monica and Scicli plus Punta Secca, where Montalbano’s home was set.
Our guide, Paulo was a very friendly and knowledgeable man. I think he was surprised to find that the only UK people on the trip were the show’ biggest fans.
As well as focusing on filming locations, we were shown the incredible architecture, inside and out of the cathedrals in these stunning towns.
It was a blistering hot Sicilian day and the beach outside Montalbano’s house was packed! Unlike in the show where it’s only ever him.
All credit to Paulo the guide, Roberto the driver and Viator the company.

We enjoyed this tour. Our driver Damiano was excellent with a comfortable and clean minivan. In Ragusa, Marco gave a very thorough and knowledgeable tour. There is a two hour break for lunch, and Marco recommended a restaurant that we really enjoyed. In Modica, Eleonora was a delightful tour guide. We had no idea the history of Modica was so fascinating. The chocolate tasting was very good, and the shop is a good place to buy gifts. We toured the police office in Scicli where Montalbano was filmed, and that was a highlight. Throughout the tour there were references to Montalbano TV shows.

Well so far disappointed, as we were only informed that morning by the travel agent nominated by you, that they postponed the trip to Friday 11th!!
Just hope they turn up tomorrow morning to collect us!

Dear Mrs Kerr,
we are very sorry for what happened. We sent you a message the day before the departure to let you know about the change, but the mobile number you put on the reservation was not yours! We also called your hotel the evening before the tour, but they reached you just the next morning. I hope you are enjoying the tour today!

This was an easy way to view three incredibly gorgeous towns. Guide Giuliana and driver Salvo kept a nice leisurely pace while showing off the highlights of all of them. The included light lunch was actually huge and delicious. In October the group was only 6 people - lovely experience.
