Meet your guide and small group in central San Sebastian midday, and set off by foot on a pintxo crawl through the city’s atmospheric old town. The streets here are packed with bars and restaurants, but knowing where to go for the freshest, most authentic bites is a locally acquired art.
The itinerary changes daily to keep up with San Sebastian’s restaurant trends, but you can expect to visit about four to six different eateries, ranging from traditional taverns to sleek, avant-garde bars. With the help of your guide, learn how to order pintxos like a pro and choose the best items from the counter or menu at each spot.
Sink your teeth into Basque favorites like charred steak, Iberico ham, line-caught baby squid, stuffed piquillo peppers, and fresh prawns, each bite-sized morsel often served speared to a slice of fresh bread. Edu was a great guide - we got to learn a lot about the history of the city and we really appreciate how she gave us recommendations at each place based on our dietary restrictions. She also had a lot of great recommendations on places to visit and even what kind of gifts would be unique to San Sebastian. It was really cool to learn that the guides have the flexibility to pick the places so it's about what places they like versus just following a script. It's a lot of food and wine so come hungry!

We had the most amazing food tour with Kai at Mimo. Hubby and I have done food tours on many of our travels - San Francisco, Washington DC, Paris, Prague, Madrid, and many more. This was by far one our favorites!! Kai is so knowledgeable , fun and took us to amazing restaurants. He is a true foodie and is passionate about the San Sebastián food scene. I tried things I normally wouldn’t and was SO pleasantly surprised, and we were able to taste the fantastic wine and cider. You will love this tour, you will walk away knowing more about San Sebastián and its roots, how it backs the renown food capital , and where to go to get the best pintxos in town. We did this our first day in town and now know where to eat for the rest of our stay. Thanks for a great day Kai!

Highly recommend this pintxo tour, especially if your guide is Sandra, who was knowledgeable about the food scene. Conversations were easy and she brought us to the best places.. that foie gras with white chocolate!! and the basque cheesecake! In short, we had a great afternoon filled with delicious food and good selection of drinks. She tailored the 3hours according to our palates and was thoughtful about our food intolerances. We learnt so much on this tour and it’s definitely the best way to start your San Sebastián holiday because you get to explore the Old Town with local knowledge. Sandra also shared her other recommendations so as to help us navigate better for our remaining time in San Sebastián, much appreciated!

The Pinxto tour with Veronica was fabulous! Not only were her choices of Pintxo and cheese cake bars excellent, she gave us all so much more historical information as she grew up near Old Town. I have done many tours in many cities, and this one with the fun and engaging Veronica was the BEST!

Guillermo was a fabulous guide! There were 6 of us on this tour, many with dietary restrictions and he handled it perfectly. The carnivores got their meat and the vegetarians for their vegetables. Every stop was wonderful and he explained how to navigate the crazy pintxos scene in San Sebastián. Highly recommended!

Our visit was arranged by Almudena, a native guide who could take us to the best pintxo points. Difficult to say which was the best one, but the brocheta de rape y langostinos from Zumeltzegi was outstanding. The perfect match between pintxos and drinks was remarkable.

We went on the food tasting tour over a busy holiday weekend and we had a great time, our host Alumudena, was able to get us into tiny little Pintxos bars. Everything she ordered was delicious and different, each Pintxo or drink had a story.
We came away feeling full and slightly merry – as you should after these things

We did this tour with Veronica, she was amazing. It was worth every penny, and I recommend booking it at the beginning of your time in San Sebastian so you will know where you should eat the rest of the time you are there. She was very knowledgable and taught us about the food, culture, and customs. Everything we ate was just perfection, and the drinks paired very well. We brought our two little ones, and if your children will sit through several restaurants without an issue, it should be okay. I don't recommend bringing a stroller on this tour, we ended up using the baby carrier instead. Many of the restaurants were quite small and didn't have room for a stroller.

This is an excellent tour with very efficiently arranged route. We went to four different restaurants and sampled 2-3 pintxos each with good local wines. Our guide grew up locally and was very knowledgeable about the local restaurant scene. In two and half hours we had both a satisfying lunch and a lot of knowledge about pintxos.

Thos tour was fantastic, our hostess was absolutely lovely, we loved hearing her stories of Spanish life and food. The food was incredible and I can't recommend it highly enough, it was one of our favourite activities on our trip! 10/10 would do again!
