We did the 10 km sleigh ride through a breathtaking, snow-covered forest and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The scenery was magical—snow-laden trees, peaceful trails and the quiet beauty of the winter forest.
The experience began with getting kitted out in Baba Husky’s thermal snow suits and boots, which kept us warm, dry and comfortable the entire time. They had thought of everything, including blankets to keep the sleigh passengers cosy. We drove our own sleigh as a family of 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 7 and 8), swapping drivers halfway, which made it fun and engaging for everyone.
Our tour guide, Jim, was excellent. He clearly explained the rules, safety tips and how to use the brakes and control the sleigh. Before setting off we visited the kennels to meet some of the dogs and learn about the puppies—when they were born and how their training begins. In the background, staff were preparing the dogs, feeding them a warm meal before the run. As guests arrived, the excitement built, with howling and barking filling the air.
During the ride, staff followed on snowmobiles to ensure safety, keeping the dogs on the correct path, and make sure none were tired or overworked. Once back, we had time to interact with the dogs and take photos. Our team was unforgettable: Rag on wheel, Bandit the opportunistic glove thief on swing, and our clever leaders, Zuma and Skye.
We finished in the Kota with hot chocolate, coffee and biscuits while Jim shared more stories. He spoke about the dogs not just as animals, but as real characters—with distinct personalities, habits, and histories—along with a wealth of information about their care, breeding and love for running.
The dogs didn’t run because they were made to — they ran because they wanted to. Each one was known by name, each one clearly loved and respected. That care and connection came through in every part of the experience.
This was a beautifully organised, educational, and heartwarming adventure. An absolute must-do and highly recommended for families.

Once in a lifetime, incredible experience - do it!! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and safe. The location was remote but not far from Rovaniemi. The dogs were amazing with people and well cared for.

You will be given warm clothing and boots to wear- they encourage you to wear what they provide instead of your own. Fantastic experience, Jim, our guide was so knowledgeable, he really seemed to know the dogs individual personalties and he seemed to really care for them. . Was such a peaceful experience, very educational as well.

The most incredible experience. Please do not hold back booking this incredible experience. From start to finish it was incredible.
Greeted by the instructors outside. Supplied with thick clothing and boots. Quick intro into the equipment. Beautiful 10km route; stopped half way for change of driver and photography opportunity. Back at base we had a lovely hot chocolate and biscuits around the fire! Instructors have a great insight into the husky’s! Then we were taken to the kennels of the 8 months old huskey! We got to hold Speedy.
We were very apprehensive because our huskey experience with an alternative company was cancelled due to the cold weather; but colder the better! 10km is a very short route for the huskey; family run business in a beautiful remote location; more expensive in comparison but would pay in a heart beat again!
Please support local business instead of tourism attractions!
