Wonderful day with Alex and Jorge

We took this tour, which was on Ash Wednesday, after Carnaval 2025. Alex was our guide and did a wonderful job with just enough historic information to make it interesting, as well as providing current information on Rio and the sights. Jorge was an excellent driver who made the day very easy and safe. This was definitely the best way to see these sights.

Faby was awesome and knew all of the "tricks" to avoid the long queues and make the best use of my time without the tour feeling rushed. She was extremely personable and knowledgeable and provided just enough history and background on each location that we visited. I would highly recommend Faby and this private tour!

Great Guide, Disappointing Value

I recently took this tour in Rio and, while there were highlights, it ultimately fell short of expectations and felt overpriced. We visited Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, the cathedral, and another church. The description included a two-hour hike in Tijuca National Park, but we never went there—it was as if it was never part of the itinerary, which was a major letdown. I was also expecting Faby as our guide, based on all the reviews I read, but we had Gabrielle instead. To be fair, Gabrielle and the driver Junior were fantastic, offering great insights and a smooth experience. However, the tour was advertised as 7-8 hours, yet ours lasted just 6 (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.). It’s hard not to wonder if the missing Tijuca portion would’ve made up for the shorter duration. The pricing is another sticking point. While Viator lists the tour as starting at $103, we ended up paying $189 per person. For $390 total, I expected a more comprehensive experience. While the transportation and historical context were nice, I can’t justify the price for what we received. If I were to do it again, I’d Uber to the sites (very affordable in Rio) and enjoy the flexibility. Did I like the tour? Yes. Was it worth the cost? Absolutely not. While Gabrielle and Junior were great, the tour left me feeling disappointed and overcharged.

Our VIP tour offers a variety of Options, including the Carnival experience, Downtown, and the Rain Forest, all within an 8-hour itinerary. We provide a private, air-conditioned car and an excellent tour guide for your comfort. Given that your hotel was in Barra da Tijuca, which is about 20 miles away, we typically charge extra for the additional distance and fuel costs, but we didn’t. I usually accompany the tours myself, but occasionally, when there are issues, I send my best tour guide on my place. Gaby, our tour guide, mentioned that you and your partner had a wonderful time discussing various cultural topics and that you both had a blast. At no point did you mention wanting to visit the Rain Forest during the Tour. She also noted that you expressed a desire to stay at Copacabana Beach, where she left you as requested. If there was a misunderstanding, I apologize for any inconvenience caused. I am genuinely sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. We strive to provide exceptional tours, and most of our guests have had positive experiences, often leaving generous tips, partly because the tour is not expensive. Our VIP tours are designed for flexibility and personalized experiences, unlike the more economical bus or van tours that have a large group, follow a fixed schedule, pick up tourists in many hotels, but lunch is included ;) Could you please clarify what specific aspects of the tour did not meet your expectations? Was there an issue with the vehicle, the guide’s language skills, or any other aspect of the service? Why would you want a refund if you enjoyed a day in Rio and followed everything you asked for? Amazing Day in Rio de Janeiro

Faby was our tour guide for the day and she was truly amazing. I felt like I hired a friend for the day. She was so nice and accommodating. She was professional yet personable. We really wanted to experience Rio de Janeiro the way the locals do and she provided us with that experience. Every scenic attractions and restaurant she took us to was part of the Rio we were looking for. She took beautiful pictures and videos for us!!! She also gave us tips of Restaurant’s and place to visit along with helping us find our way around with city. She is fluent in English and I highly recommend her for a customized private tour.

Faby was an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING tour guide! Her love and passion for showing people how beautiful Rio is made the day more than worth it! This is the only way to see the main attractions of Rio. She was also the BEST photographer for all the moments we wanted to capture. Pick up and drop off at your location, freedom is pick where you want to go after sugar loaf and Christ the redeemer, and she taught us all about Rio’s history. 100/10 recommend!
