Itinerary

Following pickup at your Rio de Janeiro hotel, travel to the Botanical Garden, located at the base of Corcovado Mountain.

Follow your guide into the 346-acre (140-hectare) park, heading straight to highlights such as the Avenue of Royal Palms, Lago Frei Leandro pond, and a greenhouse containing more than 500 types of orchids—a world-famous collection.

After your 90-minute guided tour, spend some free time wandering at your leisure. Check out the onsite Museu do Meio Ambiente, the botany library, or the gift shop.

At the conclusion of your tour, get dropped off at your hotel.

I cannot leave a review as this tour did not happen. After receiving a confirmation of the trip 48 hours before I waited for 40 mins outside my hotel. When nobody arrived I contacted the company running the trip and they told me that no-one else had booked so it wasn't running with absolutely no apology. No message to tell me though even though they had my money. I hope that I get a refund. I suggest Viator don't use this company.

We had an excellent tour of the garden with ChiChi who showed us lots of intresting things and explained the history of the park. We spent about 2 hours here and is seemed to go so fast! The orchid house is amazing

I was alone on this guided tour through the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Gardens. My guide was “Milene” who spoke perfect English. She was very knowledgeable and helpful with explaining the history of the gardens and the various wonderful trees and plants inside the gardens. We walked at a leasurely pace so I could enjoy the beauty of the gardens. Milene helped me by taking many photos of me standing in front (or inside) many of the lovely plants and structures. Do you want to get away from the fast pace of central Rio? Yes, then go do this peaceful and beautiful tour of the incredibly diverse plants in the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Gardens!!

Wow! I give this tour 10 stars out of 5! Our Botanical Gardens tour finished early and we went onto the vibrant historical Pedra do Sal district. So much rich and poignant history about the Afro-Brazilian culture. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and thorough. It was my favorite tour of my visit, the tour guide made it special! Thank you

Could Have Been Much Better

Our guide was great, but the organization of the trip was terrible. Our guide doesn't own a car, so the tour company was supposed to send one, but couldn't get an Uber to come since it was a Carnival day. We wound up sitting in the hotel lobby for 45 minutes until one of the hotel employees drove us and the guide to the gardens. Luckily we were able to get an Uber quickly for the return to the hotel. The activity price doesn't include tickets, so that wasn't great either since the venue doesn't take credit cards or foreign currency.

Very nice, but certainly there are periods with better flowering, The orchids pavilion turned out a little disappointing (probably better at other times). Our guide, Tania, despite her age turned out to be surprisingly arzilla, nice and funny as well as very well prepared.
