VANESSA <3, my tour guide was so knowledgable about the mountain and the ecosystem from the plants to the animals. Hike is definitely not for the weak…pretty brutal and hot going up. Hotel pick up was very convenient and got to experience the best views of beaches on the jeep style vehicle. Protip- bring a towel, buy water, if you sweat a lot maybe an extra shirt in your bag for pics when you get to the top. I will definitely book another tour experience with the company. ALOHA…you will understand this phrase when you get to the top lol. They take professional photos for R$5 each photo and your tour guide can take the on the phone. D100% recommend.

    No English-speaking guide as advertised!

    Minhaz_Z, Apr 2026
The package was advertised and priced to have an English-speaking guide, but the guide we had didn’t speak or understand English at all, which made it impossible to understand what he was saying. Communication with gestures and with some help from fellow group members was challenging and was not ideal. However, the guide was nice and took everyone’s pictures. The car that carried us was shabby and congested. The seat headrest was an unusually low and was poking my back all the time. I’m not very tall, 5’ 10” only. I certainly would like a refund due to not including an English-speaking guide as advertised.

    Do not respond to messages

Tour operator does not respond to messages. I sent them a message and they absolutely ignored it. Do not recommend.

    Brutal but worth it

    Living on the Edge!

    Robert_H, Jan 2026
This was a physically CHALLENGING experience! If you are not in decent physical shape (great knees, great legs, great lungs), this may not be a tour for you. The hike up the mountain is TOUGH! It is almost an hour long hike on rugged terrain. The Telegraph Stone is at a height of 1161 feet (354 meters). But if you can make it to the top, it is WORTH THE CHALLENGE! The views are breathtaking and the pics are priceless! Mauricio, our tour guide was patient, accommodating and as can be seen, also a GREAT PHOTOGRAPHER, he took my pix shown here, thanks bro. The tour van however is quite OLD and is in poor shape and SHOULD to be replaced. The ride in the van was very uncomfortable. We were all crammed in with little or no leg room. Please please please get a NEW VEHICLE. Would I do this specific tour again? HELL NO as it is very challenging physically plus, unless you're at the telegraph stone at the crack of dawn, you'll have to wait for close to 2 hrs to take your pics as there'll be others ahead of you and some folks in other tour groups are selfish and want to take 50 pics per person! There should be a limit of no more than 10 mins of pic taking per person! Anyway, I am happy I was able to complete the hike and get my pics with that iconic piece of rock! Go for it! You won't be disappointed!

Cool photo, but would not recommend

    Hannah_C, Jan 2026
Overall, would not recommend. Views were cool, we hiked for 45-50 minutes a moderately steep path, but then waited 2.5 hours to take a photo. If you decide to book, bring sun protection. lots of water, and a lunch. You will be gone for a while and most is waiting in line.

I thought this was a great activity and really enjoyed it. The trail was definitely steep and challenging if you aren't in good shape. The views at the top were amazing. Please note that it says limit of 8 in a group, but our group had 14 people in it. The description also refers to jeep transportation, but we did not have that for our tour.

View was beautiful! Even though the hike was horrendous but it was worth it. Our tour guide was great!

    Erika_S, Jul 2025
The Pedra do Telégrafo hike is absolutely beautiful, but it is very challenging. Our group moved quickly, and we ended up falling behind and had to hike a majority of it alone. We were nervous continuing on our own, especially when we lost phone reception. While the tour guide did come back for us at the end, it was a stressful experience making our way up alone especially since there wasn’t signage guiding our way. The view from the top is stunning and makes the effort worth it, but I would recommend this only if you are comfortable with strenuous hikes. Also, although the tour was advertised as being in English, there was a language barrier and another traveler needed to translate at times. If you’re not used to hiking or want a less stressful experience, I recommend booking a private tour so you can go at your own pace and enjoy the scenery safely.

Rigorous hike worth it in the end!

    Melissa_J, Jul 2025
Great tour! The hike was rigorous. You definitely need to be in decent shape because the stairs are no joke. Our tour guide was great and the pictures taken by the onsite photographer are amazing.

    Amazing guided tour!

    Rafael_B, May 2025
We were so lucky on this tour, my friend and I were a little bit scared because it was cloudy that day; they picked us up on time at the hotel and Rafael was the best guide ever, he was so funny, so knowledgeable about the area and so patient and caring. Nobody else showed up due weather conditions but we still went, it ended up being a private tour for us two. The hike was very nice, but my favorite part was the return, they took us through a road next to the beach with stunning views. The stone was literally only for us and a photographer was there to take amazing pictures for everybody- so don't worry about it, they really know what they are doing and you can pay with tap if you like your pictures. Despite weather conditions we were able to see the amazing views from up there and of course take some nice pictures of the moment.

    Great

    Colton_G, Apr 2025
Rafael Robaina and Thiago were great Rafael was fun and motivating the whole hike up with I needed wonderful person

A good dare if you willing to take it

    Edgardo_C, Apr 2025
It was an awesome view from the top; however, better be in decent shape in order to reach the top after a 50 minute hike on the rough terrain which is mostly uphill.

If the hike doesn’t kill you, the mosquitoes will!

    TinaSpence, Mar 2025
THE HIKE IS BRUTAL!!! 95% uphill- about an hour of steep stairs and very slippery tree roots. Mosquitos are out for blood. If you can get through all of that, it’s AMAZING!! I am a fairly fit 50 something year old woman with a 11y old son who fought through this adventure. With a little encouragement from the group and a lot of patience from the guide, I survived the day! I just wish more reviews would have been transparent about the difficulty. Uphill hikes and relentless mosquitoes are a real thing!!

    Buyer beware

I received a message at almost 10 PM the night before the excursion that was supposed to start at 6 AM the next morning, that my reservation was canceled because they were oversold. This was so extremely unprofessional. But luckily was able to book with a more reputable company and now I’m off to start the excursion.

    Eveline_D, Mar 2025
The walk was long and hard. It was suposed to take 45min walk, but because of other people in the group who were not prepared to do this hike and also did no effort it took almost 2h. Which means it’s also getting hotter during the walk going up. The guide was also not amused about the bad attitude. Otherwise nice view at the top.

    Our experience was great!...

Our experience was great! Rafael Robaina Was our guide and he was amazing! He was very insightful and very engaging

Amazing Tour !!! Breathtaking Views !!

    Marek_S, Feb 2025
Very Good Tour, nice ride on a Jeep 1 h 30 mins south of Rio, quick breakfast in a local coffee bar then 50 mins hike to the top of the hill where you can take amazing photos. Very nice and friendly guide. I really recommend this tour.

Amazing tour. We enjoyed the hike and the company. Barbara was a great tour guide. The pictures on the rock are great

    Perfect for solo travelers

    Elease_H, Feb 2025
My tour guide was Leo and he was just amazing. This is perfect for solo travelers, he translated everything in English for me as I was the only person in the group that was English speaking. The tour is a hike which requires some level of physical fitness it Leo was very patient with the people who moved a little slower than others

Worth the hike. Must do once in a lifetime !

    Zalena_H, Jan 2025
Rafael Robaina is the best tour guide. He took a good care of us. The activity was enjoyable but not for people with health issues. It's moderate trail and very steep but it's worth the hike. Once u get to the top, the view was amazing. A must do activity once in a lifetime. Highly recommended

    Great tour guide!

    Rohan_C, Jan 2025
The tour guide was friendly and amazing, he made the experience better than previous tours and he also spoke English!

    Pooneh_S, Jan 2025
Your service was not as described. There was no dedicated transfer. The timing was not adhered to. There were no tour jeeps provided. Instead, people were crowded into shared buses and taken up the mountain in a disorganized manner.

    Good Bus & Walking tour

    Tom_B, Dec 2024
This was a hood day trip out. Mario the guide was good. It's worth noting there is no Jeep on this adventure, just a bus. The walk is quite steep and takes around 40 minutes so take water, mosquito spray and suncream, but the views from the top are worth it.

Fun Challenging Hike with Nice Views At Top

    Samantha_A, Dec 2024
Rafael Robaina was a great & friendly guide. The hike is not easy, if you are not used to high incline hiking, this hike will be a challenge for you but the views at the top are so worth it! Rafael is very patient, he does not rush you to finish, he allows you to take your time to get to the top. I recommend bringing mosquito repellent, the mosquitoes were wild during the hike. The driver of the Jeep, Euclides, is also friendly and he drives you as far as he can until the hike begins. If you want to do this hike, I recommend using this company.

    Fun Experience

    Joseph_P, Oct 2024
The Telegraph Stone is a beautiful place to take pictures and videos. The nature in the area is awesome. The hike was longer than expected and can be exhausting if you are not used to hiking.

    Fun and exciting!

    Gilberto_M, Oct 2024
Guide was awesome throughout the tour. Miguel made the tour fantastic. The hike up the mountain was not easy so keep that in mind.

    Help your

    Sierra_W, Oct 2024
The jeep was having issues we never went on the tour. They asked us if we’d do later or take the refund. We took the refund.

    Response from Host, Oct 2024

Good evening! Your refund was made as informed via WhatsApp.

    Worth the hike

    Sandy_L, Oct 2024
The hike was uphill! If you don’t like hiking this is not for you. We enjoyed hiking through the forest to the top of the mountain. Although it was drizzly and foggy it was worth it. We took pictures - then the fog disappeared briefly and we all quickly retook our pictures with the view. Rafa our guide was always smiling, laughing and making sure we were all safe. He made the hike enjoyable!

    It’s a Hike!

    Andres_C, Oct 2024
Our guide, Flavio, was great. Very personable and knowledgeable about the vegetation and fauna in the area. Fair warning, this is a moderate hike. Steep on some parts. Make sure you’re fine with grades and elevation.
