I do not understand all the 5 stars. (Helpful note no-one else is sharing: you are going to get filthy. Wear clothes and shoes you do not care about getting dirty, and bring a change for after. Not unreasonable for atvs and I should’ve thought of it, but no one warned me) The driver who picked me up drove like he wanted to get in a car accident. On the way over he narrowly missed ramming an Atv he was tailgating on a back road while someone was driving on it and proceeded to scream at them despite the fact he was the one who almost seriously hurt the person on the atv(and me). I was in other cars during my trip in the Dominican Republic. Sure they drive fast, but none of them had a death wish. At the start I had to go between multiple vehicles as the ones I was in couldn’t shift gears. I don’t think any started with a key or button. They were hot wiring the ones in and around me as we left each destination. The beach was pretty, but if you’re in a resort the one on site is likely as good and doesn’t have people trying to shake you down for money. The coffee/chocolate shop and their presentation was nothing special. It was basically a sales pitch for the gift shop filled with the cheap mass produced stuff found anywhere in PC. The cenote was nasty and was overrun with people to the point it looked like a swimming hazard if you could even make it through the throngs of people. I have been to other cenotes that are much cleaner organized etc. I know that’s how these things work, I’ve done it before. I’ll do it again. Typically there is at least some redeeming qualities. To cap it all off, they had pictures for sale after. I wanted 3, not all of them. For some reason that was unreasonable to them. After we came to agreement for me to buy all of them, Cash App flagged them as a scam. I then said nvm as I didn’t see the worth in getting ripped off. They were sure to finish on a low note: while on the included ride back to my hotel the guy pulled over to ask me for $50 to take me back to my hotel. The doors are child locked so I. Couldn’t get out. He called someone who set him straight and fortunately I made it back to my hotel. Do not do this experience if you care for your safety the littlest bit. There are certainly better options available.
