It was a good hike through the mountain range. Parts of the terrain are challenging as you are going uphill through some rocky/muddy areas, and parts of it are very scenic. Wear sturdy shoes and comfortable clothing. Wilkin, the guide, is very experienced and knowledgeable about the area and made the walk fun! It is an adventure!

Really enjoyed the hike and give them 5 stars! Wilkin was my guide and Paul was the driver. Wilkin is friendly, very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and just a great overall personality! I appreciated his help crossing the small creeks and rocks, as it was a little muddy. The stop for coffee and cacoa was perfect, learned about the process and enjoyed the tastings.

The experience was so much fun. Seeing the wildlife up close was so amazing. There were parts I struggled with but the views made it even better. Our guide was very cool knowledgeable and fun to hike with. I highly recommend

Wilkin our guide and Paul our driver were incredibly easy going and kind. Wilkin taught us about the local fauna and it was all so interesting. You should know it’s 5km hike and a good portion is up steep hills, we had to take a couple breaks but he was happy to wait for us. The end of the hike ended with a coffee demonstration as well as showing us the real cinnamon and vanilla they grow in the DR. It was great to get out of our hotel and learn more about real Dominican people and culture. I highly recommend if you like to hike and like learning about other ways of life.

It was a moderate yet exciting hike. Saw native fruit trees and local farm life. I would definitely recommend this hike to anyone who doesn't have a problem climbing.

The hike was difficult but great! There is mud and small water crossings and some parts are pretty steep. The guide Wilkin and the driver Paul were so generous and hospitable with their time and knowledge. I would really recommend this to anyone interested in the outdoors and engaging with local guides. If you're from out of the country, beware, adjusting to the heat and humidity is no joke on a hike like this - but so worth it! Our guides knew a lot about the flora and fauna in the area, not to mention local culture and food. Wilkin and Paul went above and beyond for us and our friends and I would absolutely come back to hang with them and go on more adventures!

Wilkins our tour guide was a relaxed and lovely presence on our hike. He put up with my million questions about the native trees plants and birds and pointed out things we never would have noticed alone. We were lucky to see a wide variety of birds, butterflies and plants as we hiked through the quiet rural hills. The cocoa plantation was a very interesting and delicious experience with opportunity to support the local growers. Only downside was some deep mud after a heavy rain the day prior but it also added an element of fun. Would recommend securely-fitting shoes, ankle support is wise too. Thanks for a great experience, Wilkins!

We thoroughly enjoyed this hike. The scenery is gorgeous and the weather was perfect. A muddy and moderate trek through the mountain trails. The café was a plus. Chocolate is delicious. We were so happy to explore this part of the country. Wilkin is an excellent and knowledgeable guide. The driver is super friendly as well!

Very nice hike and scenery! Will’in the guide knew the area and the foliage and flora well telling us about things along the way.
Very beautiful and educational hike.
It rained but he had rain gear ready and it didn’t interfere with the day.
We ended at a coffee and coco place and had a nice cup of both coffee and coco (chocolate). Loved the service and guide enough to book a biking trip the following day

First of all the tour guide Wilkins was excellent! Although it was rainy, we embrace the muddy wetness and totally enjoyed the experience. The trail was
beautiful with an abundance of flora, and mountain views. We even visited a plantation and sampled coffee, chocolate, and cheese. I would highly recommend this moderately difficult hike.

Great adventure good for families and friends Beautiful views and great tour guide Add bonus coffee and chocolate samples

Wilcin was a great guide, it ended up raining on us but Wilcin did his best to make our hike enjoyable. He knows a lot about the local plants and animals and was explaining things as we went along. He speaks excellent English, communication was never a problem. The hike was moderate difficulty, 5km. It was fairly challenging when we went because of the recent rain, but it usually shouldn't be too hard. We'd recommend to anyone who enjoys hiking and wants to learn more about the local nature!
Ewa_K, Dec 2024
Nice hike, prepare for mud after recent rains! Lots of beautiful plants, lizards, birds, and some friendly local dogs and cows. It was neat seeing how coffee and chocolate are made in the village

Wilkin was a wonderful young man. Very polite. Was with our speed. Showed us a great hike. Please bring shoes that you would not mind to be dirty and wet. Passed cows and horses.
Great trail. Drive was also do sweet.

Wilkins was a great guide! It ended up just being the three of us and we appreciated his laid back energy. The driver was great too! This hike was our favorite part of the whole trip and experiencing the beautiful nature and local communities of the area outside of the resort we stayed at. We saw so many fruit trees and the hike was a great workout with beautiful views! You will sweat and potentially get muddy!! We loved it. Recommend if you love hiking and spending time in nature when you are traveling!

Learning about the different wildlife was very interesting. Wilkin was an amazing tour guide and he was very fun and laidback for our younger (early 20s) group. The hike itself was good and towards the end it got more hard but very doable. Wear shoes you don’t mind getting dirty or muddy. hiking shoes would be best. Overall We loved it!
William_P, Jun 2024
The hike was fantastic. It was the perfect difficulty and length. My favorite is actually the excellent communication of the tour guide before and during the tour. We were picked up right on time and he was very friendly!
Robin_G, May 2024
Excellent experience. Wilkin was a terrific guide, I learned about the plants and farms of the area, and a little about the neighbouring towns. I was alone as others scheduled for the trip cancelled, and I really enjoyed the easy conversation, and also time to just appreciate nature. I would have loved an even longer hike, this will depend on your fitness level. It was a great way to feel less a part of the tourism gimmicks and just see the beautiful countryside.

A great trip to experience the cultural side of the Dominican Republic, Wilkin was a brilliant, friendly, and very knowledgeable guide. The hike was great, seeing all the flora and great views, then stopping off to experience some local produce. All around highly recommend
Lydia_D, Mar 2024
Our guide Wilkin was awesome! Good communication, he took quality photos and sent them promptly. We got more than we expected out of this trip and definitely recommend!
Nina_L, Mar 2024
Great hiking trip from Punta Cana! It’s a small shuttle so you don’t go around all the different resorts picking people up. We were just with one other group. Our tour guide was super friendly spoke great English and even brought his professional camera and sent us photos afterwards. Shuttle ride is about 40 min hike is a moderate hike about two hours. After two weeks at our all inclusive resort we were happy to get out and go see some nature
Jarrett_M, Jan 2024
We hiked up the side of a beautiful mountain while learning about the local wildlife that flourished all around us. Our tour guide was amazing, respectful and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone!
Marieeve_D, Dec 2023
The view was amazing! The guide help you threw the muddy part. It is a really good way to see the country part and learn about the nature
Janine_J, Oct 2023
So many fruit trees and raw natural beauty. It was such a delight to do this hike. I would highly recommend if you're in to wanting to see the natural green life of the Dominican Republic. My tour guide was so knowledgeable and excellent!

The whole hiking experience was awesome! I highly recommend this company! The tour guide was very knowledgeable l! Loved the whole experience! Will be going back!
Darlene_G, Oct 2023
The hike was hard, but in a good way. It rained so it was very muddy and slippery. Our guide was knowledgeable and very nice. The view was gorgeous. The stop at the farm was nice. Very good coffe. It was a great experience.
lerondra_b, Sep 2023
The guide and drivers were great. We did have to go down to our main gate to get in the transportation. The hike was hard and quite a bit of elevation throughout. There were muddy areas and multiple small streams you have to navigate. Wear sneakers with a good grip and I would recommend a hiking stick. Overall great workout !
Oleg_J, Sep 2023
Really enjoyed that one. The crew was friendly and professional. Jose, the guide, spoke great English. The vehicle was very well air-conditioned. The hike was beautiful. I went at 11 AM, sunburnt after my trip to Saona the day before - and I still survived. The hike is not super long, I'd say under 10K, it may feel a bit like an obstacle course at times due to all the steep slopes, mud, shaky rocks, the streams you have to jump over. Especially if you are taking it after a day of rum drinking - get ready for some sweat. But it's still so worth it. The scenery is gorgeous. Mountains covered with lush of tropical greenery. You definitely won’t see that from your all-inclusive. We saw a bunch of flowers and butterflies. Even cows at some point. I also saw the majority of tropical fruit I can think of growing in the wild.
After that, we stopped by the Anamuya River. That one was both nice and frustrating because of all the trash people leave there. Then we went to a small rancho where they showed us how to make chocolate and coffee. I really loved that one a lot. Make sure you taste Mama Juana while you are there.

The guide was excellent and patient with us. As a first time hiker, the inclines were challenging but great exercise. Definitely would do it again—with a planned deep tissue message afterwards😁
