Jose was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable. As others noted, the transportation to and from the Eco Center may be lengthy but it allows you to see the area as well as the other resorts. My family loved learning about local protected animals. The Cenotes were very refreshing and beautiful. Wear your bathing suit there. Highly recommend this tour.

Cenotes were great. Refreshing.. Wild life exhibits were minimal but the conservation was important. Transportation was not great, on the van for 1.5 hrs both ways, they could have split the pickups.
Racquel_S, Apr 2026
The cenotes were the highlight. The water was crisp and clear. We appreciated the knowledgeable guides who toured us around the reserve to see the apiary, iguanas and birds.

The ecological tour was rather quick but definitely informative with a great guide. The swimming in the cenotes was definitely the highlight of the tour. The experience was breath taking Remember to bring your bathing suit, towel and water shoes.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
We are glad to hear you enjoyed the experience and that the guided visit and cenotes stood out. The tour is designed to offer a balanced introduction to the reserve along with time to fully enjoy the lagoons. We appreciate you sharing your recommendations and hope to welcome you again.
Rosemarie_A, Mar 2026
Our guide was amazing and we enjoyed every minute - until we have to walk to the lagoon. He said that he thought it was 200 meters. Actually, based on my Apple Watch it was close to a mile each way. My husband really struggled, even with his cane. We stayed at the first, smaller lagoon because we could not walk that far and all the way back. I strongly suggest they / you measure this exactly and make it part the the description- we would have picked a different adventure.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
We are very glad to hear you enjoyed the experience and the guidance provided. We understand that walking distances can feel different depending on each visitor, and we appreciate your perspective. The reserve is a natural environment with trails connecting the lagoons, and many guests choose how far they wish to go. We are glad you were still able to enjoy part of the experience and appreciate your feedback.
Leanne_C, Mar 2026
Tour guide was amazing and spoke English very well. The whole experience was well organized and the swimming in the cenotes was amazing. The only negative was the waiting for the other passengers at the gift shop at the end of the tour.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
We are very happy to hear you enjoyed the experience and that the guide and the cenotes were highlights of your visit. Occasionally there may be a short wait at the final stop while the rest of the group regroups before the return transfer. We truly appreciate your feedback and are glad the overall experience was a positive one.

Jose our guide for the eco tour of bees birds and endangered creatures was amazing and a wealth of knowledge and so personable. The cenotes were refreshing wear water shoes as the rocks in the springs are slippery. It was a very good experience and tasting
The honey from the bees.
The coffee cocoa and mamajuana tasting was in a different site like a souvenir store which was not what we imagined. Expected more of historical experience about them but it was good to have the tasting.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
We are glad to hear you enjoyed the experience and that José made such a positive impression with his knowledge and enthusiasm. The cenotes are truly one of the highlights of the visit and we are happy you were able to enjoy them. The tasting is designed as a brief opportunity to try some traditional Dominican products, and many guests appreciate the chance to sample them during the excursion.
Inga_M, Mar 2026
The walk through the jungle was very short.
Most of the time was spent swimming in two lagoons.
The corals were shown only in pictures.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
The activity is not designed as a jungle trek, but as a visit to an ecological reserve with time dedicated to enjoying the cenotes. The experience intentionally includes extended time in the lagoons so visitors can swim and appreciate the natural environment. Regarding the corals, the tour explains the restoration and conservation work being carried out, which is why they are presented through information and images rather than live displays.
Roxanne_R, Mar 2026
This is a walking tour with a lovely tour guide that will take you to see the honey bees and educate you on them. Next, she’ll take you to see the rhino iguanas and will do the same. Later, you will be taken to two different lovely lagoons where you will be able to frolick and swim. This was a very relaxing and very lovely tour. No outside pressure, just education, history and vibes.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
We are very happy to hear you enjoyed the experience. Our goal is to create a visit where guests can learn about local wildlife and conservation efforts while also having time to relax and enjoy the cenotes. It is great to know the guide helped make the experience engaging and enjoyable. We appreciate you sharing your experience.
Kelly_H, Mar 2026
100/10 recommend. The tour was so fun and I learned a lot. Lots of time to swim in the cenotes, make sure you bring goggles so you can see all the fish, turtles, and shrimp!
Only downside was the transportation- I’m not sure if all the drivers are like this but ours drove very crazy- even driving backwards in town for an entire block. My friend and I felt so sick by the time we got back.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
e are very happy to hear you enjoyed the cenotes and the experience overall. We sincerely apologize for the driving you describe. Safety is extremely important to us and this is not the standard we expect. We will review this situation internally and address it immediately to ensure it does not happen again.

Jose will be very happy to know his knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience so enjoyable for your family. Introducing visitors to the protected wildlife and the natural environment of the reserve is an important part of the tour. We are also glad you had the chance to enjoy the cenotes and their refreshing waters. Thank you for your recommendation.

Get your own cab and book your own tour directly through the Punta Cana Foundation. Booking this is ONLY a transport to the Nature preserve and your ticket for the tour but the tour is through the foundation and you can buy it on your own. The transport is shared and took and hour and a half to go to the destination that was 30 min away. The only add you get is a 20 min visit to a tourist trap store that gives you a bit of chocolate and thimble of mamajuana.
I HIGHLY recommend the Punta Cana Foundation tour with the indigenous eyes cenote visit, just don’t waste your time booking it here and spend half your day on a bus.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
The experience is the same regardless of the booking platform. Many visitors choose this option because it includes coordinated transportation and guaranteed access without arranging logistics themselves. A private taxi to the reserve can easily exceed $100 each way. Shared transportation optimizes time and cost. The tasting stop is simply an optional cultural experience inside a shop with no obligation to purchase.
Sandra_O, Feb 2026
The eco center was interesting. Since we didn't go into the ceynotes (I wish I had) that period was boring while we waiting. The tasting was mostly an excuse to go to a gift shop.
Pickups at the various resorts are an issue. We were in the car 90 minutes until we got to the center and weren't the first to board. At the gift shop we bailed and took an Uber back to the hotel.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
We are glad you found the ecological center interesting. The time at the cenotes is scheduled for all guests, and participation in swimming is entirely optional. Choosing not to enter the water does not shorten the experience for others. The tasting stop is a cultural addition, with no obligation to purchase. Transportation operates as a shared service, which may involve multiple pickups depending on locations.
Katherine_M, Feb 2026
The time and the guide (Zailla?) at Cenotes was great, she was a great naturalist and explained a lot about the birds and the ecological impact and endeavors of the programs there. I'd give her 5 stars. The pools were crowded but lovely. I would give 1 star for the transportation provided to and from our hotel. There was a problem reaching someone who had registered and we returned to their hotel (Dreams) and waitied at least 10-15 minutes each time which made our trip to Cenotes from our hotel more than 75 minutes, instead of 20. On the was back we were brought to a touristy store and I felt a lot of pressure to buy things we didn't want. Our driver brought us to the store and then disappeared for 45 minutes. None of our group wanted to be there anywhere near that long. I went back into the shop and asked the staff to find the driver, who seemed very irritated to be brought back to the group 15 minutes after we asked for him. I believe he was having lunch or visiting with friends. Seatbelts in the van did not work for several of us. My advice would be to definitely look for another way to visit the Cenotes area.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
We are pleased to know the visit to the cenotes and the guidance provided met your expectations. The natural reserve experience is the core of this tour. Regarding transportation, this service is operated by an external provider. We take comments about logistics and safety seriously and will address them directly with the company. The overall tour experience should reflect the visit itself, which we are glad you valued.
EarlJulius_Z, Feb 2026
There was a bit of misunderstanding on their side as their driver understood we didn’t need to be picked up when I was clear with my message and info from the time of booking that we needed to be picked up from our pick up point (AC Hotel). Our schedule was messed up, my girlfriend wasn’t too happy about it as this was our last day in Punta Cana and flying out the next day explaining to them; they tried to move us around from the original 10am booking to the 2pm one which we didn’t agree upon but they made it right (somehow), they did a full refund by sending someone to pick us up 45 mins later and having done a partial tour still — hawk santuary, iguanas, apiary and the cenotes. We got to the pick up point 10 minutes before our scheduled pick up time and plans didn’t go as planned but they were nice enough to give us a full refund and still swim in the cenotes for a couple hours.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
We appreciate you sharing your experience. There was indeed a misunderstanding regarding pickup details, which we worked to resolve as quickly as possible. Although schedule adjustments were discussed, we respected your preference and arranged a private transfer to ensure you could still enjoy the reserve. A full refund was issued as a courtesy while you completed the experience. We are glad you were able to spend extended time at the cenotes and enjoy the visit.
Miki_S, Feb 2026
The first part of the tour in the reserve was wonderful, the guide was very knowledgeable and told us about the endangered animals in the sanctuary. The cenotes were gorgeous and swimming in them was refreshing. However, after the cenotes we were just taken back to the hotel, and we did not get to visit the shrine, nor did we get to do the chocolate, coffee and liqueur tasting. I was disappointed to not get to do this last section, I was planning on buying chocolate and coffee as gifts but was not given the opportunity.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
We are pleased to know you enjoyed the reserve, the guide, and the cenotes. The tasting stop is normally included as part of the full itinerary. On rare occasions, adjustments may occur due to timing or operational logistics. We regret if this part was not experienced as expected and encourage you to contact us directly so we can better understand what happened.
Joshua_H, Feb 2026
This experience was very informative. Loved learning about the animals and nature of Dominican Republic. Swimming in the Cenotes was incredible. Our tour guide was lovely.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
We are glad you enjoyed learning about the local wildlife and natural environment. It is wonderful to hear that the cenotes were such a memorable part of your visit and that your guide made the experience even more enjoyable. We appreciate you sharing your experience and hope to welcome you again.
Chris_F, Feb 2026
Very good. Was longer than expected. The only issue was the pickup point. It was difficult to pinpoint because there was no way to know exactly where to go.
Jennifer_C, Jan 2026
The natural pools were beautiful! The water was crystal clear. And the bee information was very interesting. I liked that the chocolate, coffee and mamajuana tasting was at a shop so you could purchase the items and souvenirs too if you wanted.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
We are glad you enjoyed the beauty of the natural pools and the clarity of the water. It is great to hear that the information about the bees added value to your visit. We are also happy you appreciated the tasting experience as an opportunity to learn about local products at your own pace. Thank you for sharing your experience and we hope to welcome you again.
Bailey_G, Jan 2026

Thank you for sharing your experience and we hope to welcome you again.

Amazing!! It was a last minute booking and I really don’t regret it ! Fantastic organizing, and the landscapes are very beautiful ! The guide Jose in the Fondacion was excellent !

Nice to see the hawks and Iguanas in the park.

We are happy to know you enjoyed the experience and the time spent swimming in the cenotes. It is great to hear that the guide and the visit to the reserve, including the wildlife, made your tour memorable. We hope to welcome you again at Ojos Indígenas.
Vimal_N, Jan 2026
Tour was in general fine. The only issue is that we spent 75% time picking up others from several hotels which was a waste of time. 2 hr + 2 hr picking up and dropping off others.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to know you found the tour itself enjoyable. Transportation is shared and organized to provide access to the reserve in a responsible and efficient way, which can result in longer travel times depending on hotel locations. Once at the reserve, the focus is on the experience, nature, and conservation. We appreciate your comments and hope to welcome you again.
Rone_C, Apr 2026
The place is amazing and worth a visit. However, the return transport was a total disaster. The driver was lost, could not even communicate in Spanish, skipped the last part of the ride that were the tasting, did not know the region and drove poorly putting in danger everyone who was in the van.

Bathing in cenotes is a refreshing experience, the other things were accessory,
Driver wanted to pick us up at short notice 90 minutes earlier
