Brilliant alternative car tour

This is a brilliant tour if you like old cars. The Trabant we used is a 1970s model painted lilac, not the most comfortable to get around in but that's not the point of the tour. Our guide (Andre) spoke good english and took us to see a few of the sights, as well as visiting a large carpark where we could drive the car as well. He also explained how the car works as well as the history of it. It turned many heads as we drove round.

A wonderful experience

My husband got up close and personal to this wonderful little car, enjoying a memorable go at driving her. We then had a very interesting guided trip in the city, learning about the WW2 resistance fighters and visiting the church they were holed up in. Excellent!

This was more of a history tour rather than an adventure in the Trabant. Host took us to an old stadium where we looked at the car and read through a book on Trabants - totally useless and uninteresting- a good 20-30 minutes of wasted time. Her car was in desperate need of cleaning/vacuuming, and refurbishment.

Thank you for your feedback. I would like to clarify for future guests what this tour includes and how the day unfolded. This is a vintage Trabant 601 from 1976 — an original piece of Cold War history. It does not have modern features such as air conditioning, and this is clearly stated in the product description. In fact, I rescheduled this booking to 8:00am specifically to ensure a cooler and more comfortable ride in summer weather. The tour follows our advertised program: a drive to Strahov Stadium, the largest stadium in the world, now in ruins — an important and striking site from the communist era. Historical commentary is focused on the car’s legacy, Czechoslovakia’s communist period, and other “off the beaten track” locations. During the tour, the guests requested to switch from the communist theme to a WWII focus, so I adapted the itinerary to include the Saints Cyril and Methodius Cathedral, site of the paratroopers’ last stand in 1942. I provided accurate historical context, but some questions and comments suggested a misunderstanding of historical timelines, which I clarified politely. The tour concluded with a drop-off near the Old Town at a traditional Czech restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating, as requested. At every stage, I aimed to accommodate changes and preferences while delivering the unique experience described in the listing. For future travelers: please read the activity description carefully before booking to ensure it matches your interests, as this tour is designed for those who appreciate authentic historical sites and the experience of riding in a genuine Trabant from the 1970s.

Martina was the best. We have taken Trabant tours in Krakow and were delighted when in Prague to be able to drive one. Martina was bright, funny, patient and a great teacher on how to drive a Trabant. Everyone should do this

Great way to see and tour Prague

Met Martina and her gorgeous little Trabant and we took a very enjoyable and informative tour of Prague. These little emblematic communist era cars certainly turn heads and we had pedestrians turning and pointing to us as we drove through the streets. Martina was very knowledgeable and we certainly learned a lot about recent Prague events and current affairs. The opportunity to drive a Trabant was a little daunting at first, but Martina was very encouraging and I quickly got the hang of it and enjoyed a drive around the large parking area near Prague Stadium. Not sure I was quite "street ready" though. Martina would have picked us up from our apartment but we chose to meet her at a central location. Really easy. Martina dropped us back at our accommodation. What a great day.
