This was the perfect excursion from Prague to see more of Czechia! The tour was well paced -- never felt rushed or like we had too much time. Holašovice was an interesting and unique stop, but of course Český Krumlov was the big highlight. Such a beautiful and picturesque place, we loved having time to walk down from the top and experience amazing views and then free time to explore on our own.
Ondřej was so communicative leading up to the trip and he and his tour partner were very knowledgeable and helpful.

Overall a great day. Hotel pick up was great and on time. I was the last one picked up at 8am. Jana was our guide/driver and she was wonderful. Very energetic and knowledgeable. You can tell she really has a passion for Czechia, the culture, and history. She was very considerate of the group and frequently checked on us to make see if we needed bathroom stops or snacks/water. The van is brand new and very clean and comfortable. There is also WiFi in the van and it works! Hard to find on these kind of trips. We had 6 people on the tour. It was nice to have a small group. We first stopped in the small town of Holasovice to visit with a nice old man who has turned his farm into a a bit of a farming history museum. It was nice to hear some history from a local. This was a quick stop. Maybe 30 mins. We then drove another 30 mins to Cesky Krumlov. A beautiful town. Jana walked us through the town and castle and gave us an overview tour for about 45 mins-1 hour, then we had about 3 hours to eat lunch and explore on our own. I did not choose the lunch option, so I wandered and had lunch on my own. A delicious burger spot. Prices are reasonable and there are plenty of cute restaurants and cafes. Overall a great day. Plenty of shops with local goods. Check out the gingerbread shop, Cesky Pernik! It was so good! And they have the most beautiful handmade gingerbread. The drive back to Prague took a little over 2 hours. Unfortunately it took 1.5 hours to drop everyone off at their hotels, and I was last. Rush hour evening traffic took the longest. I wish I could have got out right when we got back in Prague. We were 5 mins from my hotel, but drove out of the way to drop everyone first. Keep an eye on where you are on the map. You might be able to get out sooner and walk faster than waiting through rush hour, bumper to bumper traffic.

Regarding the slow drop-offs in Prague, traffic that afternoon was unusually heavy, even by Prague standards. It was the third day of new school year. That said, we’ll take a practical lesson from this and offer guests an earlier drop-off when suitable. Some people prefer the comfort of door-to-door service, while others may be happier walking the last few minutes.

My two boys (ages 12 and 15) and I loved this tour. Ondřej (our tour guide) messaged us the night before with details about when he'd be picking us up, and then when traffic was heavier than usual the next morning he texted to let us know he was running a little behind.
There were 3 other people on our tour with us - the perfect size. Ondřej managed to get us all talking and made sure we all knew a little bit about each other, which made it that much more enjoyable (and my boys loved that the van had WiFi).
Cesky Krumlov is beautiful and we enjoyed learning about the history and the buildings as we wandered through at an easy pace. One piece of advice: book the lunch option. The meal was absolutely delicious - we all loved it. After the tour we had time for shopping and snacks, and my 12 year old got to make a necklace with the blacksmith (thank you again to our guide who brought us to meet the blacksmith after learning about my son's interests. You were right, he loved it!)
We also visited the little village of Holašovice and met a local resident. This was a surprise hit with my boys as they both said multiple times after our trip how much they enjoyed meeting him.
We had such a wonderful time; our only regret was we didn't have time to book another tour with Ondřej.

We had such a wonderful experience with Ondrej! He was incredibly accommodating, patient, and thoughtful with our entire family. Traveling with a larger group and different ages can be challenging, but Ondrej handled everything with such ease, flexibility, and understanding.

Highly recommend Ondrej and Czech Out Tours. Had such a wonderful time and the day flew by. First stop was Holašovice, a beautiful UNESCO heritage town where you get to meet a true treasure of a man (I wish I could remember his name!). He gives you a glimpse of what life was like living in a small farming town. Make sure you have him tell you his family ties to NYC. After a delicious lunch at a bistro in Cesky Krumlov that overlooks the river (food is so fresh and homemade), Ondrej will take you from the top of the town with magnificent view points through the castle grounds down to the town. You will have free time to explore the picturesque town and its many shops. Loved seeing the local garnets and moldavite, gingerbread, blacksmith and other shops. It is such a wonderful town to wander around in. The van is comfy and has A/C. I already want to go again!

If you get the chance to travel with Jana, then you are going to want to sit in the front seat with her. Jana shares her thoughts, ideas and opinions freely. As someone who came of age during the Velvet Revolution, hearing this first hand life experience is a perk of the trip that is not mentioned in the trip itinerary.
If you want to see Cesky Krumlov, the travel time is unavoidable so why not meet what North Americans would refer to as a true Bohemian, as your personal travel guide?
With my highest compliment, Jana reminds me of my sister in law, Avril.
You’ll leave this trip feeling like you, too, just passed a pleasurable day with a close friend or family member who wants to give you the context behind the surficial details.
And yes, the castle grounds and medieval village are all they are hyped to be.

What an incredible day with Ondrej!
The tour of Cesky Krumlov was interesting, fun (despite temps over 100°F) and personalized to our groups' interests. He knew most every shop in town and helped us find special non touristy souvenirs- the only ones I bought after 2 weeks of travel. The restaurant for lunch was delicious and could handle all my food allergies. To make things better, we started at the top of the hill, wandered down through the castle and then thru town. Ondrej went back to get the van while we had free time to so we never had to climb back up the hill in the heat.
The visit to Holasovice was much more than expected. Not only did we see the town and collection of farm tools from a multi generational farm, but talking with the 85 year old that shared a bit of his life was precious.
Ondrej shared insight into life in the Czech Republic that can't be found on larger group tours. It was the best day trip of the two weeks.

Cesky Krumlov was a very interesting and beautiful place, but what made it special was the tour guide, who was outstanding. The company we used was small and fairly new, but marvellous and I can’t recommend them highly enough. We had pre-booked before going to Prague and hoped that it would be good, but everything from the pick up and drop off to Jana's driving standard and her command of English and historic knowledge was excellent. We hadn't chosen the optional lunch in Cesky Krumlov, as my travelling companion is vegetarian and we weren't sure of the menu choices. However, when we mentioned this to Jana, she recommended a vegetarian restaurant to us overlooking the river and serving very good food (just be aware they don't take credit cards). She even took us right there before going on with the only other couple in the party to their chosen restaurant. On our way to Holasovice, Jana was telling us about the history of the area and I mentioned that my late mother-in-law came from a village nearby, Jaronin, many years ago. When we passed a sign for Jaronin being just 2 kilometres away, Jana checked with our fellow tourists whether they minded a slight detour, and we set off to find Jaronin. It was only a tiny hamlet, but very special to me, and I can't thank Jana enough for her thoughtfulness in undertaking the 10 minute detour. Jana went over and above in every way and the company deserves to be overwhelmed with bookings!

Great trip to Cesky Krumlov with Andrew (Ondrej). He was so attentive to the group wants, making sure we were all comfortable throughout the day. We loved the city and the additional stop at the small UNESCO village. I was worried we wouldn't have enough time in Krumlov but I didn't need to worry. We toured with Andrew for about 1.5-2 hours and then had 2 hours or so on our own to explore. I was impressed with all the historical knowledge and fun stories he shared as we walked the old cobblestone streets. Don't hesitate to book this one!

This is a thoughtfully planned tour.
The chosen restaurant was a highlight. It is a local chef with a menu that can vary to use fresh seasonal ingredients. We actually booked tour without the lunch but ended up eating there because Ondrej is in contact with the chef earlier in the day and could ensure the food selection fit the diet restrictions. It was amazing! Take the lunch option! It is just far enough off the man square that we would have missed it on our own.
The stop at the small farming village gives extra dimension to life in Czechia that you miss the cities. It also allows for a drive through the beautiful countryside off of the highway and a visit to a local ceramic shop. It's actually pretty hard to find locally made, reasonably priced mugs in Prague so I loved this.
Cesky Krulmlov itself is a stunning fairytale town viewed from the castle and same for the castle as viewed from down in the town. We were there before castle interiors opened for the season which was disappointing but also when you're trying to time your visit to miss crazy crowds this is just what happens

Our tour guide, Ondrej, is very knowledgeable with his craft. He is detail oriented. One can tell that he really loves what he does. As the tour progresses, he has consistently checked on us as well if we need anything and if we're comfortable during the long ride. He did us right by not canceling the tour eventhough there were all 3 of us that booked since it's off season and we surely appreciate that. Overall, we highly recommend his services and please keep him in mind when considering tours outside Prague.

Lunch was great, the beer was fun, the sweets and coffee were sweet! He knew all the secrets which made the tour so easy to enjoy. He was also able to go the extra step to be flexible and help us with a personal issue that required extra time was able to handle more expeditiously for us. After Český Krumlov he drove us to the surprise UNESCO village and the museum there was the real special experience there- such a personable experience to meet the people that have lived there their entire lives. Ondřej was the perfect host for this full day. I would do this tour again and I highly recommend.

Perfect day! Our guide Andrew was personable and knowledgable. So many highlites - fairytale town walking tour with time to relax for a beer, lunch and shopping. Our stop and visit at a home in a UNESCO baroque farm village in the countryside was a true Hiden gem.
