Lovely couple gave us a gentle tour on the wayer . It was raining but,the plastic side covers kept us dry . We tasted two local wines , learned about the Duoro Valley history and enjoyed visiting the other people on the boat .
So kind that he waited 5 minutes, as our train came late .

The morning started out with light rain but the boat has plastic walls and blankets so you don’t get drenched (unless you’re at the front!). I liked the quietness of the electric motor, and the calmness of the river. It stopped raining and was even better. The guide was nice and very knowledgeable. We tried a white wine and fortified wine and refills were €2.50 or €3.00! Perfect for a group of friends or in our case, my husband and I became part of a group of friends from Texas that were joining the tour. It was a long enough ride to enjoy the views but not too long that you can’t plan a day of other activities. A great way to start the day full of visiting quintas.

Very good experience seeing the mountains and wine country from the river view. Fun and engaging hosts that answer all our questions and provided great information. The boat was nice and quiet with no exhaust to worry about.

The boat ride was lovely, super calm and quiet. It was us and 4 other couples. We tried a local wine and a port while seeing the Duoro Valley from the water and learning more about the area.

Lovely tour up the Douro from Pinhão by solar powered boat. No noise or fumes like the other boats with traditional engines. Fabiana and David were great tour guides, knowledgeable about the history of the region and the famous grapes.

Nice tour. Quiet boat. Small group. If you want to sit in the front, get to it first. Guides were very informative. Views were beautiful. Tastings were a nice add.

Awesome 1hr trip on the solar powered boat. Don’t let the electric name fool you, we went the same speed as the other boats in the River, and had no smell or engine noise.
Our hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable about the River and we were treated to two different wines.

Thoroughly enjoyed our hour trip. Went on 6.30pm boat, was peaceful. The driver of the boat was very knowledgeable. The wine tasting was good too. Great value.

Nice trip up and down the river. The great thing is the motor is electric so no noise or gas smell. Love the fact that you could talk and get to know your fellow passengers. It was a great experience. You can’t beat the price.

It was wonderful going on a solar boat being so quiet and without any exhaust. The day we had was beautiful and the scenery was breathtaking!
When searching for the boat location it is off to the side not with the other boats in the front. Use Mapquest to help with the exact location.
It would be nice if there was more information about the area provided during the tour.

We arrived 10 minutes before boarding the boat. It was raining so the boat had rain protection, which was nice. Beautiful and relaxing boat ride. Tasted 2 wines and some nuts.

Very pleasant 1hr trip on ecofriendly boat. Captain and tour guide friendly and informative. Tasting of 2 local wines plus almonds from the area.
Recommend this trip as very relaxing and less crowded than bigger boats as only 8 of us.
Error over change of departure time due to Viator not updating their booking information and sending incorrect time right up to embarkation.

Aside from the spectacular views, the tour offered 2 small glasses of wine and some history of the area. The hosts were engaging and willing to answer all questions. The group I was in would have preferred more stories on the sites we were seeing as we chugged down the river. Because it was raining, we were unable to get a clear view from the front of the boat as the plastic protectors had to stay on. However, the views from either side of the boat gave us the pictures we wanted. I would say that it is a must but would be much better in the sunshine (but hosts cannot control the weather conditions).

We really enjoyed our trip on the electric boat, it was peaceful and serene and the wine tasting was an added bonus.
We shared the boat with two more groups, both of which came from USA and they ‘took over’ to an extent but when she could get a word in the guide was lovely and informative.

Small group tour with friendly and knowledgeable crew and a WINE!!! Relaxing tour on a quiet solar boat along the Douro river. Much better than the bigger boats crammed with tourists. The crew were more than happy to answer questions about the river, the boat, the wine and the valley. They were great with the communication and let me go on an earlier tour when it threatened to rain when I was scheduled to go.

Didn't even have a sign! They didn't even bother trying to find us at the meeting spot . We got there 10 mins before meeting time and they left without announcing or trying to find us( there were 20 other boats). And they have the audacity to say we weren't there on time. No refund either since viator just accepts their decision.

On the day of your booking, our staff waited an additional 5 minutes beyond the departure time to accommodate your arrival. Unfortunately, we cannot extend this waiting period any further, as it would impact the scheduled experience for other passengers.
Our tours are strictly timed to ensure that all guests receive the full one-hour experience they have booked. Delays beyond a certain point would compromise the day’s schedule and the enjoyment of other guests.
We understand the frustration of missing out on a planned experience, and we are committed to improving our procedures based on your feedback. The fact that we had additional passengers on your tour can be verified, and we stand by our reputation for providing quality service, as supported by numerous positive reviews on Viator and TripAdvisor.

We were traveling with our two teenagers, so the winery/vineyard heavy tours were not appealing - which made this option very attractive. And I'm so glad we did it. The intentionally small size of the group (only about 10 people total), the quiet of the boat (solar-powered = no loud engine noise), the engaging guides all made for a fantastic experience. Looking at the other boats that were packed to the gills with super loud motors made me appreciate our choice of this tour even more.

This was a perfect way to enjoy being on the Douro river. No motor noise, no loud music, no diesel fumes - just a quiet and peaceful journey up the river. Neither did we have to listen to an audio tape to tell us what we were seeing. We received a warm welcome from David and Fabiana when we arrived. David gave us some history of the vineyards and explained what we were seeing. The two tastes of wine were really good, especially the Moscatel. The Moscatel surprised us with its rich, warm flavor. I always thought of this alcohol as cheap and what dubious characters and inexperienced youth drank on street corners! Far from it! I only wish that the T-shirts they offer were available on our trip - especially the one that said: "Save water - Drink wine!"
