What a wonderful tour. We watched them making the cheese through all the processes and it was explained by a knowledgeable guide. The tastings were generous. Organic family run cheese location.

We waited for half an hour in the cold and rain. When we contacted the company to say the bus hadn’t arrived they said the tour was cancelled. There is no excuse for them not contacting us.

Meeting destination is very convenient, we came from Milan and met up at the train station - The ride was comfortable and scenes were pretty cool. At the factory they gave hairnets and walked us through step by step how to make the cheese with valuable info along the way which was awesome. The guide which was an ex-cheese maker was AMAZING, He was funny and gave us a lot of info. We did a tasting in the end as well and got to buy some!! Overall HIGHLY recommended we had an amazing time!

The tour was extremely unorganised. The pick up/ drop off was just a mess. The tour itself was OK but our guide (who was also our driver) had very poor diction it was hard to understand him. There was another female guide conducting tour in the same room, she had much clearer diction and presence so I ended up just listening to her instead. The worst part was when the mini van just left without informing us. Since we were on a tight schedule (also it was 33 degree on that day and I am pregnant), we needed to be dropped off asap so I asked the guy who appeared to be the manager or the owner if another shuttle was coming to drop us back in the city. We were already waiting 20 minutes by then. He picked up his cell phone and made a dial and spoke in italian that “there are these Japanese tourists making noises”. okay.. little did he know this Japanese tourist (I am not even japanese, I am Korean American and I went on a tour with my mom and two aunts) has an Italian husband and fully understand Italian? I confronted him right away and told him that I understood what he just said and that I found it very rude. He embarrassingly made some excuses and apologised but still. Not Ok.. overall NOT OK

Wish I could tell you about the tour but I wasn’t on it! I was scheduled to be picked up at 8:30a at a local hotel. We were there 10 minutes early. At 8:35 I texted the tour operator. No response. Again at 8:42. I called viator a few minutes later. Gave them my info. Was cut off. Called back. They apologized that their driver was not feeling well. Sure would have been nice had they called or texted me that morning! This was going to be a highlight of Parma. Obviously it wasn’t.

We can 100% recommend doing this tour. Mattia is super friendly and very knowledgeable about the region and the cheese making process. It helps that his parents run the cheese factory so he‘s basically grown up around the cheese and you can tell he‘s passionate about it. Next time we‘re in the area we‘ll definitely book another tour with him!

We had a great tour that was exactly the length we wanted it to be, seeing all of the steps in making parmagiano actually happen in front of us with a guide that was both very entertaining and incredibly personable. Highly recommend this tour!

Me and my friend had a great time at the small factory. Mattia shares very well the knowledge of his father (cheesemaker) during the few hours of the visit where we can observe and understand the different cheese making steps. We did not feel rushed and there were not too many people in the group (we were 4 with Mattia and 6 visitors in total at the factory).
The tasting at the end of the visit is also interesting and somehow surprising (in a good way).
I recommend.
