Betsy our tour guide was terrific. We went to many places around the city, was able to see the different patisserie and cheese shops and we got to sample everything from shou to cheeses with different wines to beef bourguignon. Betsy was very knowledgeable about Paris, its food and its history. The next time we visit Paris, we will see of we can catch up with Betsy on whichever tour she is running. So much fun, such great food and an excellent way to spend an afternoon in Paris.

We were the only clients on our food tour with Claire. She made sure we knew how to properly enter an establishment and greet the staff-very important. We walked through the Marais, from choux pastry to a brasserie lunch, then on to charcuterie, wine and cheese. And that amazing chocolate bomb for dessert from Aux Meravilleux. The brasserie was lovely, the wine cellar where we had champagne and our cheese and bread very atmospheric. Everything was tasty. We also got some information on the history and architecture of the Marais which was interesting. Claire also had recommendations for places to eat later in our trip. Excellent experience.

Fantastic experience. Harriet is the quintessential expert on French food history and winemaking. Multiple stops in fabulous Marais for everything from creampuffs to boeuf bourguignon! Would willingly do this tour again on next visit!

My husband and I were celebrating our 40th anniversary. We have been on food tours before and were stuffed at the end. Not this tour. We literally had to get food after the tour!😂
We felt bad for the two young gentlemen with us on the tour—-they had to be starving.
It was definitely tiny bites at each stop and mostly sweets.
Our tour guide Silvana was very nice and knowledgeable and our co-participants were so much fun, but next time eat before or after this tour—- it’s a lot of money for a few appetizers and some wine.

And I'm sorry that the amount of food included on our tour didn't seem like enough to you. On your tour, the tastings included were unique pastries, charcuteries, a selection of 5 different types of cheeses, a savory croissant, boeuf bourguinon pita, 2 different types of wine, macarons and a filled puff pastry from one of the best pastry chefs in Paris all during 3 hours. Even if we prioritize quality, we also want to make sure that our clients don't feel hungry after the tour. Most of our clients actually say there's more than enough. Our intention is to take our clients to places they wouldn't normally find on their own, and try some of the essentials of French cuisine while learning about the local food history and culture and exploring a new neighbourhood. I can assure you that the quality of the foods you tasted in Paris especially from the artisans we've selected was really worth that price. Paris can be an expensive city but there are so many places worth visiting and so many delicious foods worth trying, that sometimes 3 hours is not enough. We strive to take our clients to some of the best or hidden food shops and restaurants despite the limited time and budget. I hope that we could welcome you again on another Eating Europe tour. In the meantime we wish you a happy 40th anniversary to you and your husband.

Getting to go into a restaurant and sit to enjoy the food experience was the best, eating while standing on the street with pigeons vying for every crumb was not as enjoyable although the food was good. Lulu was our guide and she was good but soft spoken for my very HOH husband. She did explain why we stopped at our stops, and talked about the food and culture. She answered questions and was quite enjoyable to be with as our host. We really liked her.

The tour guide kept asking the participants questions instead of telling us information. When I asked her to tell us information instead of asking us questions, her response was, “that’s how I give my tour, and I’m not changing”. And this is why she was unsuccessful as a teacher. If I am paying $131 for a tour, then I am interested in getting information on the history and its origins..:the tour is about your customers, not your ego. She eventually took a more interactive approach in the middle of the tour.

Me and my husband went on this tour as we have done one before in Rome. This was just as good. We really enjoyed the local knowledge of Benyor and he was super friendly. The tour was lovely to see some of the Marais area and we ate at places we would never have found. We had some lovely traditional French food and wine as well as some beautiful sweet treats. By the end we were full! This is a fantastic way to see the area and try some lovely food and wine.

I was disappointed that the guide seemed unprepared. The food was excellent, but when we sat for the pastrami sandwiches no one came to see if we needed anything. We did not have enough water for all of us. Then when we ate the street food, no napkins were provided - we had to eat the cheesecake with our hands. Very messy!
