Our tour guide was Vic. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the cemetery and spent time explaining and answering questions. My husband and I had a great time and recommend this tour.

Andrea was awesome! She is super friendly and knowledgeable about the cemetery and it's inhabitants. She totally went out of her way to find out where Marcel Marceau was burried (he wasn't on the original tour) and added his grave site for me. I highly recommend her and this tour!

Great tour led by Victoire visiting a wide selection of tombs and celebrities with historical facts and anecdotes. Highly Recommended

This tour at LLachaise was amazing. Marine is a local and was able to bring the cemetery to life, pun intended. Since I am also a tour guide, my expectations are high. This tour did not fail to impress. The cemetery is truly outstanding as was this guide. I highly recommend.

Thank you Dee for an entertaining tour around such a historic cemetary! 2 hours sounded long, but went pretty fast!

Interesting, atmospheric and informative. A different side of historical Paris away from the maddening crowds.

I would recommend this tour of Père Lachaise Cemetery. It is a great way to get a snapshot of the social and cultural history of Paris. Our tour guide Nelly Glorian was outstanding. She had an encyclopaedic knowledge of the cemetery and the history of Paris in general. Her expertise and enthusiasm really brought to life the stories of the people buried in this cemetery.

The tour was informative and very interesting. Our guide, Dee, was careful to show respect for the dignity of those buried there, while also sharing some funny and interesting anecdotes.

Deepal was super informative, kind and went at a pace that accommodated everyone in our group. Could not have asked for a better experience. Wished we could be carted in golf carts to see more of the cemetery but understand that may be impossible

Dee was fantastic with great stories about the luminaries buried at Pere Lachaise! I would highly recommend this fascinating tour.

I’m Iliff McMahan, husband of Deborah Seidel, who booked the Pere Lachaise Cemetery Tour. Deborah asked me to write a review and I am delighted to do so on behalf of both of us.
We are both history buffs and we were looking forward to the tour of the famous cemetery. However, neither of us were expecting what we saw when we entered the gates.
The tombs, mausoleums, crypts, statues of all designs, sizes, and colors was absolutely extraordinary!! I have never experienced a cemetery quite like this one. I knew about Oscar Wilde and a few other notables buried there, but the big surprise for me was Edith Piaf!! I’m a huge fan of Ms. Piaf and love her music. And of course Jim Morrison, having grown up listening to The Doors.
However, the absolute BEST part of the tour was our fabulous guide, Andrea!!! She brought the background of the cemetery into play before we ever arrived there at the gate: the history of cemeteries in Paris, the horrible unsanitary conditions they caused, and the reformation of burial procedures, procurement of new lands for new cemeteries outside the Paris city limits (including this one), all brought on by Emperor Napolean Bonaparte!! Who knew?! I didn’t, and neither did anyone else in the tour. But Andrea did!! And she built the history into the narrative in such a way as to paint a picture of Paris, how it lived and how it honored its departed, through the centuries! Andrea is a ROCK STAR of a guide & I recommend this tour, with Andrea as their guide, to everyone!!

We bought the activity online and had to pick up the tickets somewhere near the cemetery and then meet at the rendez vous point. Arrived 1h30 before and we spend over an hour trying to find the place we needed to redeem the vouchers. Never did. Decided to take a chance and go to rendez vous point. There was a marathon. Missed it. Very bad experience
Response from Host, May 2026
Dear Caroline_M,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you missed your activity, but it appears you might be referring to a different tour. This specific booking is for the Père Lachaise Cemetery walking tour, which has free entrance, meaning there are absolutely no physical tickets or vouchers involved that require redemption. Our guests simply meet the guide directly at the designated starting point.
Furthermore, please note that local public events like marathons can unfortunately cause unexpected street closures and transit delays across the city.
If you believe there has been a mix-up with your booking, please reach out to us directly with your reservation details so we can help clear this up.

This was a very interesting tour. The cemetery is amazing to see. Our tour guide, Deepal was excellent. We loved hearing the history and stories of the graves we visited. In fact, Deepal was the best guide we’ve had so far. Thank you for a great day!

Totally worth spending the money! You may not see graves of everyone you want to because it’s a huge cemetery. Our guide was Carole and she was awesome! She knew where all the bodies were buried. She had extensive knowledge of the cemetery’s history and those interred there. We learned so much from her. Carole was great! I would have loved a longer tour.
Sara_S, Apr 2026
Carole was an excellent guide for the Pere Lachaise. Gave us easy instructions on where to meet before the tour. Was very clear and engaging when delivering information to us. Also happy to answer any questions. She took us on a good route across the cemetery, showed us the most famous graves, as well as stopping to share little stories of lesser known graves as we passed them. I think to properly understand and enjoy Pere Lachaise, a guide is definitely needed. It is a huge cemetary and even the most popular graves are quite difficult to find. There are no information boards or anything like that, so again to understand the history of the cemetery, you are reliant on a guide. Really enjoyed the tour, the 2 hours went by so quickly, and even then we'd barely scratched the surface of what there is to see in Pere Lachaise!

Andrea our tour guide was fantastic, the tour was a highlight of our trip and we learned so much. Would highly recommend this tour!

Dee provided a well organized and interesting tour. She shared a great historical perspective on each gravesite visited and provided new learning. The range of graves visited and discussed was extensive and broad from Chopin, Oscar Wild to Jim Morrison. She was excellent in answering any questions asked.

Fascinating walk around Pere Lachaise, featuring many of the site's most famous monuments.Andrea was very friendly and knowledgeable!

We had an excellent visit to the cemetery with our guide Sophia. It was our first time in Paris and a visit to Pere Lachaise was a must do. Sophia met us at a nearby Metro station and the cemetery was a short walk away. Throughout the tour she was very knowledgeable and answered any questions that were asked. The cemetery is huge at 14 hectares, so you will only get to see a fraction of that, but at just over 2 hours, we saw plenty of famous graves and the stories behind them. I thoroughly recommend this tour as a starting block for any future visits, which we will definitely do when we next return to Paris.
