Absolutely wonderful tour. Hugo was incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and charismatic - truly the best! He never rushed us and brought Père Lachaise to life with fascinating stories about the people buried there. It was engaging, memorable, and easily one of the best tours I’ve ever taken. Francois was really nice, and very knowledgeable about the history of the Cemetery and its occupants. We learned a lot. The tour was semi-private, but we were the only 2 which was great.

This tour was one of the best tours we have ever been on. It was so enjoyable listening to Francois tell the stories of the famous Pere Lachaise cemetery. There wree two gates. One is a big main entrance but another one is a small gate. My Uber driver droped me off in front of small one but my guide was waiting for me in front of main entrance. My guide finally finded out where I am and led me kindly.
And he've guided all of famous tombs and explanied about them very detail . I was very happy and I'd like to extend my thanks to him. He was very kind and friendly.

Hugo was an outstanding tour guide. He knew the cemetery well and was full of interesting anecdotes about the people buried there. He answered all of our question with wit and humor. The sprawling nature of Pere Lachaise makes it very difficult to navigate without an expert guide like Hugo. I would highly recommend him and this tour to anyone visiting Paris.

Hugo was a wonderful guide during our foray into Pere Lachaise. He really brought history to life and hit all of the cemetery's high spots: Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf, and Oscar Wilde, to name a few. He also took us to lesser known, but no less important gravesites, and told us the stories of the fascinating people who reside there! I highly recommend this tour.

Hugo was a fantastic guide. With his amazing knowledge he was able to entertain and educate with flair! We truly enjoyed our visit. My husband and I visited in 2021, this was our son’s first visit and Hugo was able to enhance our previous experience and add additional information that we were not aware of. If you enjoy history this is a must!

Our Père Lachaise tour was facilitated by Hugo who expertly guided us through the huge cemetery. We were booked in for a small group tour but lucked out as it was just the two of us on Hugo's list for the afternoon.
We toured gravesites where the mortal remains of notable people now rest, learnt about their remarkable lives and how they dented human history. We also learnt about Père Lachaise's evolution to become the world famous cemetery it now is as well as the memorials located within its walls.
In Hugo we had a very friendly, easygoing, knowledgeable guide with a passion for history who was eager to customise the tour just for us.
Hugo was able to encourage and engage in discussions and enlighten us about French history as well as the trials, tribulations and successes of French and Parisian society. Plenty of walking done, plots covered (or uncovered as the case may be) and history to unravel. It was never a dull moment and we would absolutely do something like this again.

Our guide Hugo was a wealth of knowledge. He had so many interesting stories about many people that are buried or memorialized here. The Cemetary is VERY large and the old sections were not organized well but with this guide we were able to easily navigate to interesting people and sites. Highly recommend!

My wife and I enjoyed this walking tour so much more than we expected. Yes, we wanted to see Jim Morrison's grave and did. The walking tour provided so much more history and context than we would have been able to gleam on our own.
We were fortunate to have François, a local Parisian who had so much history and stories to share and woven into our tour. What a historic place and way to spend a couple of hours appreciating both the cemetery and Paris and some of its most historic, colorful and most permanent citizens!

Hugo gave an excellent tour. He not only showed us the famous graves he showed us interesting and unusual ones as well. It was one of the most memorable parts of my trip. Well done, Hugo! He was so knowledgeable and made the tour most memorable. We appreciated his taken photos of us. He even walked us to the nearest taxi place and made sure we were safely on our way back to our hotel. Now, that is full service. Amazing tour and would highly recommend to everyone.

She had a wonderful, conversational way about her that made you believe she personally knew the people she was describing. We came away with a better understanding of what makes Paris so magnificent.

Our guide provided an excellent walking tour of the cemetery that included the history of the creation of the cemetery as well as the cultural context surrounding the evolution of the cemetery. She was also very knowledgeable of the many notable inhabitants of the cemetery. Very enjoyable and memorable!! highly recommend!!

I have always wanted to visit Here Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, but I was unsure how to locate many of the famous tombs I would like to have visited. Also, I knew nothing about the cemetery at all, so I decided to look for a small or private tour. I definitely made the right choice! My tour was a private 2.5 hour tour led by an incredibly knowledgeable and friendly fellow named Ferit--I hope I have spelled his name correctly. Ferit met me promptly, greeted me warmly, and after a few brief introductory comments, gave me a fascinating history and background of the cemetery and compared it to a few others in France as well other famous cemeteries in the world. Ferit then walked all over Here Lachaise showing me various important areas of the cemetery (Holocaust remembrance section, for example) and where cremation ashes are spread. Furthermore, Ferit took me to MANY specific graves of historic and artistic importance (Oscar Wilde, edit Piaf, Isadora Duncan, etc.) and a few that I specifically wanted to see (Bellini, Rossini, etc.). I was a beautiful day, lovely weather, and excellent day for a tour. All in all, I highly recommend taking this tour--and if you should have Ferit as your guide, you will be in good hands!
