The guide was very knowledgeable but his English was a little hard to understand due to his accent. We enjoyed all of the sites and the pace of the walk. Group size was 6.

I'm happy to hear you had a nice visit in a small group discovering all the different sites. Our guides will keep improving! Many thanks

We had such a wonderful experience! Being in a small group made it feel personal and friendly, and we all truly enjoyed it. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate, sharing not only fascinating insights but also taking us to secret spots in the Marais that we would have never discovered on our own. A mix of history, culture, and local discoveries. I would highly recommend it!

This tour was a highlight of my time in Paris with my son. The guide shared fascinating insights of Jewish history, and visiting the synagogue was unforgettable. I highly recommended this tour!

    Great tour

Very nice walk in the Jewish district. We had the chance to enter a small Synagogue, hidden from the street. 2 hours walk full of information ending outside the Jewish art Museum

    Response from Host, Aug 2025

    Thank you do much!

Learning so much about "Marais Juif" and more. A must do

    Yves_B, Aug 2025
I did this visit this morning and honestly I do not understand previous comments. I learned a lot about jewish history in the Marais, totally embedded with the global story of this borough and of France global history (St Paul church being a perfect example). This comprehensive point of view is for me essential. The young lady that guided us was perfectly at ease, both for great history and small anecdotes. Thanks to her personal relationship we have been able to visit a hidden synagogue in Rue des Rosiers witch was a real luck and privilege for me. For alI these reasons, I warmly recommend this tour, that also made me discover the Art and History Jewish Museum where it ended. The guide also mentionned that friday was the best day for visiting Marais Juif, the day before shabbat, a point to consider.

Thank you for the lovely words. Come back any time!

Not as advertised. Don't waste your money.

The tour guide was not knowledgeable about the area. She didn't even take us to the places highlighted in the description of the tour. The synagogue was not the right synagogue. No mention of the museum or the synagogue. Shame on Viator.

    Response from Host, Aug 2025

I'm really sorry and distressed to read this amazing comment. It does not reflect the quality of our tours, of our guides, and of our activities, running for nearly 15 years. I feel a lot of miscommunication and a lck of understanding: In order to visit a Synagogue in this area, you often need someone who can access it. Our connection is for Nr 17, rue des Roseirs (the oldest Synagogue in Paris) which you were able to visit. He kindly proposed to show you another one (rue Pavée) but unfortunaltely, someone theredidn't allow you in. Ot could have been a wonderful bonus but was not listed in the tour because we know it's very difficult to access. The guide took you to all the places listed in the tour: they are located around rue des Rosiers, where the pictures are taken. Not only didi you visit the RIGHT Synagogue, but you were shown a second one! Very rare to visit. Finally, there's no mention of a museum visit in this tour. It entails tickets, another price and definitely more time than a 2-hour walking tour. Thank you for your understanding

    Do not book

The tour was horrible. Nothing as promoted. The guide had no clue where she was going and where she took us to the buildings were locked. They actually should refund all our money. This was a complete horrible experience, combined with a guide that had no knowledge. We saw nothing and was a complete waste of our time. Viator should be embarrassed that they even have this on their tours available as this guide and the tour was a complete waste of our time and thievery of our money. This was not a historic Jewish tour experience.

    Response from Host, Aug 2025

I'm really sorry and appalled to read your comment. I'm the leader of Interkultur. We've been running these tours for years, we know the shpops, the restaurants, and people who can get us into locked places, invisible from the street. You were given historical facts and figures about the Jewish community in Paris and France. You were able to enter two Synagogues, including the oldest one in Paris and another one, unknown to all visitors. Be sure I hear your message and I will take all this into consideration

    Underwhelming

    suzie_a, Aug 2025
Underwhelming, we didn’t get to see the synagogue advertised in the photo for this tour. We saw 2 others that were old but the guide didn’t tell us much about Jewish history. We went to more catholic sites than Jewish sites.

    Response from Host, Aug 2025

Thank you Suzie for your message, even if it's definitely not the one I would expect. I don't understand: you were shown the Synagogue advertised and described in the listing: hidden for the street, the oldest one in Paris. You even had the chance to see another one, even more rare to enter, in the same street. The fist synagogue was proposed by our connection in the area, as a bonus, and totally out of the blue. It would have been great of course, but it didn't work out unfortunately. It's NOT listed because we know it's very difficult to access and visit. I hope you can see our point and change your opinion as well as the comment. Best, Thierry
