On the practical side the tour saved us a lot of waiting time to enter the facility and we were able to go at our pace - no rush. The gardens were out of this world - digital photography was invented for such occasions - and the village itself was a “movie set” of quaintness. The food matched the location and the weather was ideal! We highly recommend the all day tour!

Extra time debatable and painting with artist is extra

Julie_B, Sep 2025
Our bus left at 8:15 and arrived around 9:45. We could have gone back at 12:00, but stayed for the later bus at 6pm. The extra time was great as we didn't want to feel rushed for the house and gardens. The house, art, and gardens were beautiful, and enjoyed walking at a slow pace. We also saw the Impressionist Museum down the street. However, we did have a lot of extra time after those two included in the purchase. Site talks about "painting under the tutelage of an artist". This is not a part of this package. Found the shop for this on our walk. This is extra, 150 per person, and has to be reserved ahead of time through another place. This was not expressed in any way, so misleading. Not sure where to even go to make reservation. Plan for 3 hours for this. That's where the extra time would come in handy. The audio guide was from a website and had to use our phone and headset (downloading didn't help as you had to have the app to play it, but no app was found when trying to get it for android phone). Realized that when we got to the house, the audio was supposed to start when we left Paris. So didn't really listen to it.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for your detailed review. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the beauty of the house, gardens, and museum, as well as having time to explore at your own pace. We’re sorry for the confusion regarding the painting activity and the audio guide. This activity is not part of the tour, and we’ll make sure to clarify this better in our descriptions. Your feedback is very helpful for improving the experience. Kind regards,

Employee Training Needed!

Susan_F, Jun 2025
The guide was rather rude, noted that 2 people would be staying but never noted that it was us. She talked too fast, gave copious instructions that were difficult to follow. Repeatedly she warned people that if they weren't at the bus on time, they'd be dumped. (Both my companion and I are university professors so we should be able to follow) We were happy that we were leaving the trip. When we returned, that guide was also rude, the bus was half full and, since we were there early the driver let us sit. When she arrived, she said, "those are not your seats. You will have to move". Since we hadn't been on the bus before, we had no idea. She was no help in giving us directions to the bus and couldn't wait to be off work. The bus driver, however, was kind and thoughtful and a treasure for your company. For all the kind we met during our 10 days in Paris (and this was certainly not our first visit, the people working for you are no asset to you. I would never recommend your company.

Dear Susan, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly sorry to hear that your interaction with our guide fell short of expectations. Courtesy, clarity, and professionalism are values we take very seriously, and it’s deeply disappointing to learn that you felt disrespected and unsupported during your tour. We also regret the confusion around the bus seating and lack of assistance, this should have been handled with far more consideration. Your feedback is being shared with our operations team so we can follow up directly with the guide involved and reinforce our service standards. We’re glad to hear that the driver made a positive impression, we’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to him. We genuinely appreciate your candid comments and are very sorry that your experience with us contrasted so starkly with the warmth you otherwise felt during your time in Paris. Best regards,

Download the app before you go if on the self-guided tour

LoriLin_S, Jul 2024
Overall, our experience was nice. However, it would have been better if the tour company provided listening devices/ear buds as an option rather than rely on our phones to download an app. Even though I have a good international phone plan, I was unable to fully load the app in Giverny and noticed others had difficulty as well. That said, I was not able to listen to the narration on the self-guided tour until I returned to the hotel. I would definitely try to download the app ahead of time and bring earbuds.

Giverny All Day Tour

Jacqueline P, Oct 2019
Self guided tour which was perfect visit for us. You definitely need more than 1.5 hrs to tour Gardens and Monet’s house. Tour guide gave good instructions ONCE we arrived. What was unhelpful was the lack of instruction on HOW TO USE the audio guide before arrival. We had no idea that we could listen to the prerecorded guide on the ride there. There was also no commentary on our trip to or from Giverny, unless you were on the pink, green or brown tour. This was unfriendly and unacceptable. There were 4 different tours on our bus. We had to wait 15 minutes for our guide to dispatch the three tours first. This arrangement was unprofessional. And please instruct your guides to give more information like whether there is a bathroom on board the bus and general safety information about the bus exits. .

Tour of Giverny

iamjkl77, Oct 2019
Overall it was well-executed though I would not recommend the full-day tour. We had seen everything in Giverny & visited most of the little shops with about 2.5h to spare. Our tour was unguided and we did not feel we missed anything.

Giverny experience

Sharon_C, Oct 2019
This trip was not what was described in the site. It said that there would be no more than 9 travellers, but when we arrived at Paris City vision we were put on a double decker bus with about 60 people. No alcohol or tea or coffee were provided either. Water was provided with lunch. The gardens were lovely but we had to leave by 12.30 for lunch and couldn't return.

Giverny fabulous; tour company not so much.

Cara_M, Sep 2019
The gardens at Giverny are exquisite and if you love gardens, you'll love this setting. Be advised, however, that there is no re-entry once you leave. There is a great and large gift shop. We bought the full day trip including lunch because we thought it would be easier on us. However, the tour guide moved so fast, that I had to run to catch her. By that point, she had finished with instructions on full day tour. The full day tour is self-guided. She took off with half-day tour and after catching up to her, she extremely quickly repeated instructions. No map of the village was provided and, consequently, we did not find the additional places we had tickets for. We believed the 3 tickets (provided by the tour company) we were handed for lunch, snack and museum, were in order of use. We had to be at lunch at precisely noon and looked for the 1st ticket destination. Forty-five minutes later, we found it and it was not lunch place but snack place. The clerk at the snack spot was very kind and said this happened ALL THE TIME. We never found the lunch spot. We tried to go back into the garden but there is no re-entry allowed; the guide failed to mention that. Also, we could not get into the gift shop. We never made it to the museum. We bought our own lunch as there are additional restaurants in the village. A potentially grand day ruined by poor tour company. Don't buy this package but do go to the gardens at Giverny.

A dream come true! (But be prepared)

Kathleen_M, Sep 2019
Our visit to Giverny was the reason we included a return to Paris on this trip to Europe! And seeing Monet's gardens and the water lily pond truly was the highlight!! Just being in the gardens and the water lily pond where Monet stood and painted so many beautiful works was awesome. We arrived about 9:40 and were taken through the group entrance into the Monet estate. It was a beautiful day, and so it was very crowded. Our guide gave us our vouchers for the House, lunch, and afternoon break. We were not advised that we should see the House first, and so because the lines were so long and so disorganized, we strolled through the gardens and then around the water lily pond for some 90 minutes. When we got back to the House at 11:10, it was still so crowded that we knew we could not get through it and make our noon lunch reservation. (We were told that we must be at the restaurant at noon for our lunch.) So we had to skip seeing the House. We then headed for the church and cemetery. And then off to lunch, but couldn't find the restaurant as there is no on-street signage (and no address on our voucher). At the restaurant, they accommodated us even though we were about 15 minute late. Then we had the afternoon to see the Musee d'Impressionism and the village, which is really quaint. We visited the Mechanical Museum filled with farm equipment and engines and such. And we enjoyed our afternoon treat. We thought about paying again to go see Monet's House but the lines to buy tickets were very long and we didn't know how long it would take to get through the House. It would be helpful to have a later lunch time (1:00-1:30) as well as more specifics on what to expect for the lines to go in the House. We might have opted to see the house rather than going to lunch. As such, we definitely recommend the full day tour. You need time to visit Monet's house, gardens and water lily pond at your own pace.

Highlight of our Paris trip!

Tamara_T, Aug 2019
We all felt that this was the highlight of our trip to Paris. To see the Monet house and gardens was just a beautiful experience. We booked the all day trip with lunch and an afternoon tea. Our bus trip was comfortable, and we were well taken care of by our tour guides. Lunch was a wonderful 3 course meal after visiting Monet’s house, and we had plenty of time to explore the impressionist museum as well as the church and Monet’s tomb. Definitely recommend taking the all day tour!!

Perfect Day

Bethany_D, Jul 2019
I went with my mother and daughter (age six) on this full-day trip, and we were so glad to have the whole day in Giverny. A half-day would hardly be enough to see the gardens and the house, and this lovely package included a great lunch, another museum, and enough time to go slowly through each and take lots of photos. There was a bit of confusion in the morning--make sure you go into the office and check in with your printed voucher so you get your ticket with the bus number (so you'll get on the right bus). We also waited a bit for the bus in the afternoon, but overall, it was a really excellent day and a worthwhile package.

must do the full day trip!

Nina_K, Jul 2019
I am SO GLAD my friend and I scheduled this trip, and the FULL DAY one, as well. I feel like there is no way you can get the entire experience of Giverny and Monet's house and gardens in a half day trip. The bus ride was great, and we got little audio guides to listen to on the bus ride there. The tour guides were helpful in explaining times and places where we needed to be. The full day trip came with lunch and baked goods from a local bakery, and the food was DELICIOUS! I can't even explain how breathtaking the gardens were, and could have easily spent an entire day walking around just the garden, so I highly recommend the entire day trip to get the WHOLE experience!

Truly a wonderful day

Rob57768, Jun 2019
We were going to take a train from Paris to Giverny for a day trip, because all we could find was half-day trips to Giverny from Paris, but ran across several posts and reviews saying what a hassle that could be. Then we found this full day trip, on a nice, big, air-conditioned bus from Paris, and booked it. The tour operator, Paris City Vision, was as nice, helpful, and professional as could be. The site itself was wonderful, with a tour of Monet's house, gardens, water lily pond, lunch at a local restaurant, Les Nympheas, a visit to the Musee Impressionisme, and an afternoon snack at a local bakery, Aux Coin du Paintre, plus some free time to walk around Giverny, where we stopped in some local painters' shops, and found the church where Monet is buried and his grave. There were people on our morning bus who were only there for the morning; they had to leave mid-day to be taken back to Paris, to be dropped off when the tour picked up the afternoon half-day people who only got to spend the afternoon there, with whom we rode back at the end of our full-day tour. I really feel that each of the half-day groups really missed out on the whole experience, and only got, well, half the enjoyment. I truly recommend doing the full-day tour, and would not hesitate again to use Viator or Paris City Vision.

Difficult departure and failure to provide information

Excursion05320159970, May 2019
To start - tour was 40 minutes late leaving Paris. Boarding the bus was very slow. Guide seemed to be disorganized and failed to give us needed vouchers for our meals. Our meal was at noon and we Had to leave the grounds for lunch and weren’t told we could not return to museum. We were let back in by museum employee when we explained we hadn’t been told. This should be disclosed before you purchase tickets. Rest of trip was wonderful.

Great Family Business

edpamp6051, Sep 2018
A wonderful day without rush/stress. The full day is definitely not too long. Plenty of time to enjoy the entire garden and to truly explore the quaint town at your leisure. The lunch and snack were also enjoyable rest stops during the day.

Loved Giverny!

Carol_M, Jul 2018
Love bed, loved Giverny! This was my 2nd time there & I’ll go again someday! The shops a quaint & people are friendly! The reason for my 4 rating is that our guide showed us how to get in , gave us vouchers & left! She did not explain vouchers, nor give us directions back to the bus! My friend & I went WAY out of the way heading back to the bus & had to get a ride from a lot cal!

Gaynor F, Apr 2018
This tour was exactly what we wanted. A half day tour to Giverny is too short for us- this tour gave us plenty of time to soak in the atmosphere in Monets Garden without being rushed through. The drive was comfortable and took 1.5 hours arriving by 10am. We were given our vouchers / tickets for the garden, museum, lunch and afternoon tea. The timing of what we did was up to us which suited us as we lingered in the garden and strolled through the house Lunch at Les Nymphias was amazing - 3 course meal and friendly staff. Drinks were extra but very reasonably priced. We then went to the Musée Impressionist which was interesting but small. A stroll through the quaint Main Street was perfect before stopping at Au Coin du Paintre for a coffee and pastry in the garden. It was a very relaxing, comfortable day leaving at 5 pm for the trip back to Paris.

This is a new full day tour. Most of...

Arpita K, Apr 2018
This is a new full day tour. Most of the other tours offered were half-day options but we decided to do this so that we could spend the whole day in the countryside. The drive was very pleasant and punctual. We were given headsets and earphones for the drive but there was no audio tour provided during the actual visit to Monet's home. This was disappointing. We were expected to tour the house on our own In fact our guide disappeared and we couldn't find her after we were let into the estate. The home is not very large the gardens are scenic, probably more beautiful in the summer when the waterlilies bloom. The lunch at the local bakery was very nice and so was the afternoon break at the artisanal cafe. The host staff were very friendly and kind. We got some nice photos and walked around the small village street. Could easily be a half-day tour.

Misleading advertising

Caroline_H, Jul 2025
A misleading experience! I bought this package and upon arrival there was no lunch included. I am unable to get a refund for part of my package. Far too long for a full day 4 hours is enough for this tour

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Cordialement,

Visit with deception included

Rodrigo_U, May 2025
No matter what the name of the expedition says with lunch included, don’t believe anything... lunch is not part of the tour. Except for that obvious deception, the visit is worth it. Too bad Victor always seemed like a serious undertaking to me.
