Diego is great! First thing he asked was if I wanted the tour in Spanish, English or Spanglish. Personally, I opted for Spanish as a major part of my trip has been about practicing my Spanish with native speakers. He's very knowledgeable and friendly. He helped me to get some amazing photos and videos of Quetzals. So our tour was successful and we saw multiple male Quetzals. He communicated well from when I signed up for the tour all the way through the tour itself. He was even helping other less experienced guides to find the birds he had already shown me. I didn't mind, as it ultimately meant others got to see and enjoy these beautiful birds. I even made a referral for the following day for someone I met traveling and he was able to accommodate that last minute add. All around great guy and wonderful tour. I highly recommend it!

We opted for a shorter tour specifically to look for the quetzal in Curi Cancha.
Unfortunately, Diego couldn't lead our tour but he left us in the very good hands of Steven. On the morning tour, only 2 guided groups were able to spot a quetzal. We were one of the lucky groups thanks to Steven's knowledge and patience. He knew where they were likely to be, continuously called for them, instructed us to be on the lookout in a handful of places, and to remain optimistic.
Steven's efforts were rewarded with our group seeing 2 different quetzals, one male and one female!
We also spent a bit of time looking at other birds, but our day felt like a total success when we heard that so many of the other morning groups were unable to replicate our good luck.

Diego was knowledgeable and very kind. He helped us find a female quetzal and showed us a lot. The trail was full of people so we went again the next day on our own to one of the other trails and used some of Diego’s advice. We found another quetzal (:

Funny and personable , Diego was a terrific guide! We saw two pairs of nesting quetzals and many other birds. His scope was incredible—perfect, crystal clear views of the birds and nests. He helped us take photos thru the scope and they are national-geographic worthy.

Our guide had an emergency, causing a colleague and friend to take over from him. We were very happy that we could start the tour on the planned day.
We searched for the Quetzal for a long time, eventually heard it and then waited and looked out. At the current time of year the odds were rather low, but in the end we were just right thanks to our guide when a monk flew over our heads. 2 seconds that were worth it to us in the end.:)

What a beautiful experience we had we even saw three 2 males and a female really beautiful bird. Tour is fine although I would always go with a guide otherwise we really don't see them they see much more

It was a very exciting experience. After just under an hour we were finally able to observe a male in all his glory. Our guide Juan made a real effort in the search (he knew the area very well) and told us a lot about the Quetzal. A clear recommendation!
