Check out the nocturnal wildlife in Santa Elena Reserve in Monteverde with this small group night walk tour. Would definitely recommend this tour! We saw a kinkajou, pit viper, tarantulas, sleeping toucan and toucanette and more! Our guide was really knowledgable and friendly.
Daniela was a fun tour guide who had a great eye for spotting wildlife and she made sure everyone in the group got a good look and pictures. The guides on this tour help each other out a lot to make sure we get to see the wildlife.
This experience was truly magical as we saw so many animals we wouldn't have seen on our own. We went back and did the same night tour as we enjoyed it so much. The first tour was the earlier time, and the second tour the later time. We saw different animals each tour. I loved they picked you up and took you back to your hotel as it felt so easy. We booked on the day and everything was perfect! Great for children too!
We saw so much wildlife. The guides split into smaller groups, but work together via radio to share when they spot things - doing their best to help you see as much as possible. We saw various insects, tarantulas, scorpions, snakes, birds and more!
Was a very nice night walk. Saw several interesting creatures at a relaxed pace. The little Green Snake & iridescent scorpion were most astonishing!!
I didn't end up going as the was a thunder/lightning storm and a lot of rain right before. I was tired and skipped the tour. When I reached out to the guide the mentioned that they make the decision about weather 20 minutes before and only cancel if there's lightning. I'm sure it would have been good and only dropped a star because I thought their weather decision process could be more clear on their posting.
We got lucky to see many night animals… the tour guide was knowledgeable and very nice… we where small group so it was easy to see everything and hear the guide even if you were at the end.
It's a good tour.all the guides were very we connected and we get to see a lot of insects, birds,snakes etc.a lot of groups were there but they managed us well
Our guide, Harold, had an eagle eye for small and large creatures alike. He spotted a kinkajou for us 4 times, which he said was a once in a million chance. He also helped us find tiny frogs, a toucan, and a variety of other insects and birds.
An outstanding operation for a fair price. Loved it!
The guide was great but we saw very little wildlife. Only highlight was a viper. The paths are slippery in places and no guard rails in places.
We were able to send tarantula, scorpion, several birds, grey hawk, porcupine and sloth.
Recommend that you bring binoculars to see even more!

Der Name der Tour hat an diesem Abend dem Veranstalter Alle Ehre gemacht; wir konnten tatsächlich ein Kinkajou erspähen. Neben Opossum, Baumschlangen, Bananenspinne und einigen Fröschen gab es noch den einen oder anderen "Nachtvogel" zu sehen. Regenzeit bedingt waren die Wege zwar etwas rutschig aber für mein dafür Halten immer noch passabel begehbar. Unser Guide hat uns gleich als Familie eingestuft (wir hatten mit 4 Personen das Glück einer privaten Tour) und immer wenn es weiterging oder es etwas zu sehen gab hieß es "Family come here". Daniel (unser Guide an diesem Abend) war super nett, aufgeschlossen, sehr bedacht darauf das Alle etwas zu sehen bekamen und zudem fachlich sehr versiert. Alles in allem eine wirklich gelungene Tour mit Bestens organisiertem Veranstalter und reibungslos funktionierendem Transfer vom und zum Hotel. Von mir gibt es klar die volle Punktzahl und ein Daumen rauf für eine Buchungsempfehlung.
