A wasted day

The tour guide was late. She was hard to understand. She walked slowly and seemed out of breath. Her English was not very good. Everyone left the tour except for one other couple. We met her back for out 6 euro boat tour to the very first stop in Como. We did not get priority admision to the boat and had to wait in the hot sun to board. I noticed other tours viator offered for the same price of 424.00 offered lunch and at least 2 stops on the lake. They were sold out. So this tour as meager as it was with such a poor guide should have been at least half the cost. We are requesting a full refund. We have been great customers of Viator and will not be returning any time soon unless u refund our money. Everyone on the tour complained of the same things. We are not difficult people. A once in a lifetime day at Lake Como fell short. When I mentioned this to the guide she made an inappropriate comment that the pri e was not too high.

First time to Lake Como

We really enjoyed our tour to Lake Como with Renzo. The ride from Milan to Lake Como went really fast because Renzo gave us a very good detail of the area and historical facts. We were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day. The tour of the town and cathedral was very thorough and interesting He showed us 3 places for lunch and we choose the place with the homemade pasta that the locals visit; which was very tasty. We took areal nice boat ride and visited one of the islands. I highly recommend this tour.

This was an excellent tour. Both the city of Como and the lake are beautiful. We did a walking tour of Como, then took the boat to two stops on the lake - Cernobbio and Turno. Our tour guide, Renzo, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about the area and its history and guided us to shopping and a wonderful place for lunch.

The Lake Como description I thought...

The Lake Como description I thought I signed up for was to see the village of Como and a romantic cruise across Lake Como. To me - and with the picture of this trip - a romantic cruise would have been on the sailboat pictured with only a few people on board. We took the ferry across the Lake to visit a villa and ferried back for a walking tour of the village of Bellagio. We really enjoyed it but I felt the information about this trip was misleading or simply incorrect. I would change the description and title of this tour. Lake Como is stunningly beautiful and the shops on Bellagio are quaint and the restaurant we lunched at superb.

We had a great time on this tour. Renzo was knowledgeable of the area. Since this was a private tour we didn't feel rushed and went by OUR pace. He also sent us to a really nice restaurant for lunch where the owner was hospitable and had great food as well. I highly recommend this tour.

I have written this review 3 times and it never seems to post, but I am trying again because we had so much fun on this tour. Let me start by saying that we are not typically tour people, we prefer to meander about, finding our way around Italy on our own. We also do not like bus rides. This was the perfect tour train and boat for us. Our guide, Renzo, made the trip wonderful! He is from Lake Como and extremely knowledgeable about the area. The hour long ride from Milan flew by as Renzo used a map to orient us and gave us an historical perspective that was fascinating. Once we arrived at Lake Como, we meandered around the piazza and streets. It was tempting to go shop at the markets, but we restrained ourselves, not wanting to carry packages all day... there are lovely streets and churches. Renzo knew something about each. He recommended a latteria that served lunch. Wow! Delicious gnocchi and lasagne for very reasonable prices! Always listen to the locals in Italy about food and where locals eat... The boat had indoor and outdoor seating, even though it was November we sat outside for part of the trip. We explored a sleepy fishing village and beautiful, mysterious Cernobbio. You can see why people escape to this area! If you book this lovely day tour, ask for Renzo. He was terrific!
