Underwhelming at best. Walk to a basic restaurant for salami & cheese which was supermarket quality. This was followed by a small plate of saffron risotto and then the obligatory gelato stop. Save your money and 3 hours of your life and don’t bother.

We carefully select every stop and every product, working with small local businesses and historic venues that represent authentic Milanese food culture. The cured meats and cheeses served during the tour are artisan-selected products, paired with a carefully chosen wine from the Marche region — which unfortunately was not mentioned in your review.
We would also like to clarify that the experience included more than the stops you described: alongside the risotto tasting in a slowfood cetificated restaurant and gelato, the tour also featured a visit to one of Milan’s historic pastry shops, where guests could freely choose a traditional pastry of their preference.
Regarding the risotto portion, we understand perceptions can differ, although we noticed that your husband seemed to enjoy it and finished the tasting with pleasure, while you tried only one bite...so how could that be small?
As for the “obligatory gelato stop,” we were a bit surprised by that wording, since the gelateria included is actually one of our favorite artisan gelato spots in Milan and usually one of the highlights appreciated by guests.
Of course, every experience is subjective, and perhaps on this occasion we were not able to convey the passion, quality, and stories behind the places we selected as effectively as we normally do.
In any case, we appreciate your feedback because it helps us improve how we present and communicate the value of what we do every day with care and enthusiasm.

Small group walking and tasting. Our guide Simon was organized and presented information in a clear fashion. He was able to arrange accommodations for a member of the group with food restrictions. You have definitely had a full meal and then some by the time you finish the tour.

Simon was a fantastic guide for the walking food tour. He was incredibly knowledgeable and shared interesting history facts about the area throughout the tour, which made the experience even more engaging.
It was clear that he has great relationships with the local restaurant staff, and we were warmly welcomed at every stop.

Our food tour with Marco was one of our favorite activities in Milan. Not only did we taste fabulous foods from the city but he included history of the city which made the tour educational and interesting. In addition, he also talked about the local foods from his experience growing up with grandparents who lived on a farm and a grandmother who made all the popular dishes and bakery desserts one finds in Milan. This local knowledge really added to the personal connection while on the tour. During the tour we talked of a couple day trips we were taking and he followed up with a list of restaurants he recommended making choices on these trips easy as we trusted his judgement and it proved correct every time! 10/10 tour!!!!!

We went on the food tour having not been to Milan before. Our guide took us to five stops: a balsamic vinegar shop, a place for crecia, a pizza place, takeway pastries and gelato. All the food stops were very nice, but we had been to the balsamic vinegar shop and they do the tasting for any visitor.
We would have liked more information about the food, and the areas we were visiting. The walk between some stops felt very long when we were not being told about the area or food as we travelled. Considering the cost, I don't think the tour was particularly good value.

Regarding the balsamic vinegar shop: it is indeed a public store, and tastings are part of their experience for visitors. Even if the tasting itself is available to walk-in guests, discovering it as part of a curated food journey — and understanding what you’re tasting — is where we aim to add value. and by the way you came back after visiting it with us, right? so it was worth going!
Concerning the walking time, the distance between stops is intentionally kept short (generally around 5–7 minutes), and the guide shares insights about the neighborhood, local lifestyle, and culinary traditions along the way. I loved learning about the history and the culture as much as I enjoyed the food. Marco was a wonderful guide. Very accommodating, and extremely knowledgeable about food (he grew up on a farm in the dolomites!). Marco explained the history of Milan showing us places that I had not read about. Because of this wonderful guidance, I went back to the historical locations the next day and also gave the incredible gelato shop another visit. The balsamic vinegar stop was my favorite. We were given the education to understand how it is made, the quality and how each product differs from the next. You cannot easily find this high quality BV as a tourist. It’s a great place to get a gift. Finally I would like to send a very gracious thank you to Marco who attended the metro with me to get back to my hotel (we had to take the same path). He made sure I knew where to go and was safe. Traveling solo as a female, it’s always a bit intimidating so I really appreciated that. He went above and beyond- even sending restaurant recommendations the next day when I asked. Schedule this on your first day in Milan so you know where to go next!

A wonderful tour with a great host, Irene. The food was amazing starting with the oldest vinegar company ending w gelato. Irene was very smart and knowledgeable. She had lots of history to tell us as we walked between restaurants and brought out a map to show us Calabria in a Calabrian restaurant. She even offered to walk me back to my hotel. I highly recommend this tour!

There were only 3 total in our group-my husband, myself and one other gentleman-so the tour was very intimate. The food stops were authentic and covered specialties from various regions in Italy. Our guide, Francesco, was very informative and you get a lot of cultural knowledge about the city as well. Would recommend to anyone looking for good food and an overall basic overview of the city.

Irina was very knowledgeable. She took us to several restaurants with delicious food and two dessert stocks. Everything was great. Our favourite was the first stop at the balsamic vinegar shop Giusti. The product was delicious and the presentation professional. Did not feel any pressure to buy whatsoever.
