This was a great tour, our driver Pablo and guide Ernesto were very friendly and knowledgeable. They made the experience so enjoyable that I plan to come back and highly recommend them. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable and their knowledge about the pyramids and ancient Mexican cultures made the experience more memorable.

Nice breakfast in cave, good tour guide. The artisan shop prices seemed high at the time, but were better than other products we saw later on our trip.

Our tour guide, Ernesto, was very knowledgeable. He answered all of the questions we had during the tour and was kind. We had the perfect amount of time at each location. Breakfast was delicious. We loved learning about the use of obsidian and textiles too.

Excellent tour! Ernesto was very knowledgeable, friendly, and interesting. He presented the information in an easily accessible way. The pyramids were so much larger and more impressive than I realized from the pictures and there were a lot of little surprises along the way as well. Transportation was also perfect, picking us up right on time at our Airbnb. Definitely recommend this fun and educational tour!

    Highlight of our Mexico trip

    Christopher_F, Mar 2026
Guide was great and site was interesting. More interesting and pleasant than visiting the pyramids in Egypt.

    A memorable visit!

    Emilienne_D, Mar 2026
We had a wonderful guide, Eduardo, who was very knowledgeable about the history of the ruins. The day was also very nicely planned with breakfast, a visit to a local artisan who showed us how they made textiles using local plants and ornamental objects out of obsidian and other stones, and then the three Teotihuacan pyramids. Everything was perfect, but our day went an hour and a half longer than expected, so be prepared for that possibility!

    Great Tour

Viator provides world class service to their travelers. The service by the local company in Mexco city was par excellence too. The guide was very informed, the driver was very polite, picked up when he said he will . Also constantly commuted through whatsapp. I use viator for all my tours.

    Best immersive history lesson!

Awesome tour with Ernesto very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the pyramids. We got picked up on time from our hotel on time and were taken to a cave breakfast at XIBALBA. We got the enchiladas which were great and filling. Very cool experience eating in the cave. After we went to a shop where they talked to us about the local agriculture and gave us samples of Mezcal to try. The pyramids were amazing definitely take your walking shoes especially if your going to climb the pyramid of the Moon. It was a very strenuous activity some people were struggling with the steep steps so be aware of that if you decide to climb up. We were provided with water and an umbrella for our comfort. Overall a great experience we got back mid afternoon with plenty of time for evening plans. Our guide Ernesto and our driver Pedro were really good with the time management two thumbs up for this tour.

It was great adventure with two stops to see the pyramids. There are long lines to get your entry tickets so don't make plans afterwards. The sites were awesome and filled with rich history. Eduardo was a great your guide with great facts, jokes and he truly made the experience well worth it

This was a well-curated tour with several interesting stops. Ernesto is very knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. He provided an accessible understanding of the historical and cultural importance of the place, its crafts, and its people that was also enjoyable and light.

    Perfect Day

    Rachel_H, Mar 2026
Ernesto was the perfect host for today’s adventure. We appreciated both his passion and his knowledge of the area. It felt like a rare gift to get to spend the day with him learning about the history and art of not just the Teotihuacan people, but also Mexico City.

    Response from Host, Mar 2026

Must do - great for families

    Angela_M, Mar 2026
Wonderful experience! We wish we would have started our Mexico City trip with this experience verses ending. Went as a family and learned so much. Ernesto was amazing and very knowledgeable. We had a quick stop at an artisan shop and had a great experience with Marcos. Thanks so much for the incredible day!

Eduardo is a great tour guide! Highly recommended.

    Erik_P, Mar 2026
Eduardo was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and very professional. He let us know in advance what to do expect, where we were headed. The breakfast was great, but my recommendation is, the breakfast is in a cave so bring a jacket in the shoulder season. Anyway tour was a great, and the guide worked with us since we have a person who had difficulty walking in our group. This can be mildly strenuous, since not only it’s higher altitude than most are expecting, you can also choose to walk/climb up the pyramids.

    Fascinating.

    Neil_A, Mar 2026
This was one of the few tours we found that goes to all three pyramids. We had time to see all three and to climb 2. The Citadel which was much quieter than the other 2 was spectacular and the carvings and the theories around the pyramid were fascinating. Our Guide Eduardo was an enthusiast for the history and theories which was great insight. The visit to watch Marco stone carving was a good add on. The breakfast was fine but I’d have happily had another 30 minutes at the site to wander round instead.

Eduardo knows his stuff we miss him already

    Brittany_H, Mar 2026
Pick up from hotel, small lovely group. Short 30 minute drive outside of inner city to a fabulous Cave cafe with delicious food & Caffé de Olla & fantastic service. Then an Artisinal experience with local business to learn about Historic uses of Agave and obsidian. Then onto our pyramids with Eduardo, who was very congenial very well-versed lovely smile, fantastic personality, very informative. He is passionate and we truly appreciated all of his hospitality! He took historical questions of UNESCO site very well and was prepared for such conversations. We were dropped off close to our hotel we had zero complaints. Highly recommend!

    Awesome Trip!!!

Had an incredible experience on the Teotihuacan pyramids and breakfast-in-a-cave tour. Our visit to Teotihuacan was unforgettable, largely thanks to Ernesto, who was unbelievably knowledgeable and explained the history and symbolism of the pyramids in a way that made everything come alive. Pablo, our driver, was extremely precise and communicative with timing, which made the entire day feel smooth and stress-free. One of the highlights was stopping to try mezcal and learning about obsidian craftsmanship and pulque making which was such a fascinating cultural addition to the trip. Everything felt well organized, educational, and genuinely enjoyable rather than rushed or overly touristy. Highly recommend this tour, especially with Ernesto and Pablo since they made the experience exceptional.

Great combo of culinary and culture

    Deborah_M, Feb 2026
We started with a traditional Mexican breakfast at La Gruta, a natural cave followed by an artisan workshop to learn about the use of obsidian in the Teotihuacan and Aztec cultures and grasshoppers 🦗 Next we visited the Teotihuacan Archaeological Zone for touring and climbing

This was a wonderful day experience. Eduardo was very knowledgeable, personable and caring tour guide. The sun can get very intense. He brought umbrellas to help keep cool and provide additional protection from the sun rays . There’s a fun stop after breakfast (food was good) where you observe an agave and stones presentations with a mild Iiquor tasting . The presenter or and the staff there were so kind and knowledgeable as well . Great experience !
