Dianela and her mother Beatrice drove us to the markets at Plaza Minorista. There they walked us through the various areas of the market explaining the different types of fruits, vegetables, breads, meats, fish, etc giving us tastes of different foods. They then took us back to their home and cooked the menu we chose, letting us assist or not, depending on what each of us wanted to do. They tailored the menu to suit the meat eaters and vegetarians in our group. Highly recommend this tour is you want to learn about Colombian cuisine. At the end of the day, Dianela answered all our questions and helped us with queries regarding other trips we wanted to take and the restaurants we'd be interested in.

Amazing market tour and cooking class!

I highly recommend this experience! We had an amazing time with Daniela and her mother both at the market and during the cooking class. Daniela is very kind and professional. She additionally gave us a lot of great recommendations for the rest of our stay in Colombia!

A great time with wonderful food

Daniela and her mother were a great hosts and a teachers. We all had a wonderful time and enjoyed the market and cooking. Likes: - the food, the drink, the market (and trying wonderful fruits there. suggested Improvements:- recipes or opportunity to take a photo of the recipe for future use - we generally were hoping to be more involved in the process of cooking than we were. We helped, but feel it would have been more fun to do the vast majority of the meal preperations.

The entire market tour and cooking lesson was a great time! The market was very interesting with many local fruits, vegetables, and vendors. The food we prepared was delicious, especially the tres leches cake. We would absolutely recommend

I had a wonderful time cooking and learning a new recipe with Daniela! She was such a great instructor and we had great conversations. The trip to the market place for fresh fruits and veggies was also delightful. Definitely going to take another coking class with her when I go back to visit Colombia! Suck a great class for someone who is juts learning to cook like myself or for the experienced cook looking to add new recipes to their tool bag.

Very happy that I booked this tour. Both the cooking lesson and market tour were great. Communications before the tour were excellent, and I was allowed to select what foods to prepare from a number of choices. Daniela and mother, Beatriz, were very nice. Their apartment was located in a safe neighborhood of Medellin, and their kitchen was modern and well laid out for preparation and cooking. For those that don’t speak Spanish, Daniela was fluent in English. Our trip to local farmer’s market was my favorite part. This market was vibrant and full of so many vegetables, fruits, meats, and fish that I could have stayed there forever. You could, of course, book a market tour through another vendor, but I feel you will get more personalized attention from Daniela and Beatriz. I got to try so many different fruits that I lost count. After an excellent cooking lesson where I got to help and received step-by-step instructions, we shared a very nice meal together in their dining room. At the end of this, I can safely say I left satisfied and absolutely full to the brim! Very nice people. Highly recommended.
