Itinerary

Wake up and head down to the lobby to meet your transfer vehicle about an hour before the catamaran launches from Grand Bay.

Step aboard the catamaran in Grand Bay and find a comfortable spot on the deck where you can stretch out and relax. Enjoy the scenery as the boat glides up the coast of northwest Mauritius, and keep your camera handy for photo ops of Cap Malheureux, Pereybere, and Grand Bay. In a clear, calm lagoon on the island's north side, the catamaran will drop anchor so you can enjoy some swimming and snorkeling.

Midway through the day, stop at Île Plate for a barbecue lunch of fish and chicken, served with bread, salad, and dessert. Sip the provided beer, wine, local rum, water, or coke along with your meal. Spend some time after lunch exploring the island or lounging on the beach.

Sail back to Grand Bay, where you'll be transferred back to your accommodations for drop-off.

Really great boat trip! The staff, Kevin, Rudi, Bruno and Olivier were fantastic! Beautiful islands, lunch on board with crystal clear waters, sunshine and good music and dancing! We had a brilliant day!

Disaster at sea

Info said a maximum of 8 travellers - we had 30. The boat's captain sat on the rear steps for the entire journey nursing what looked like a massive hangover and finally we spent 90 minutes going round in circles on the ocean on the way home because the steering broke down and had to be jury rigged to allow us to limp home. Eventually we had to transfer to another boat which was one of the hariest manoeuvres you will ever experience. You'd be mad to consider going with these cowboys!

Excellent trip - cannot fault it in...

Excellent trip - cannot fault it in away way., Great weather, great crew, great good, great drink. The only issue was when we departed from the Catamaran, our taxi driver was not there. Waited half an hour for him but he never appeared. Ended up paying for another taxi to take us back to our hotel. The taxi to the excursion and back again were included in our price.

Relatively tough conditions because...

Relatively tough conditions because of the weather, but very well handled by Captain and crew. Was under the impression we were to be given snorkelling gear, but this didn't occur. Didn't worry us greatly as we were happy to relax on Coin de Mire. Special mention and thanks to our driver Rajan who went out of his way to make sure all was OK and that we were happy and comfortable. Thank you Rajan.

Meiner Meinung nach, war das Schiff Überbucht. Zuviel Leute auf dem Katamaran. Ansonsten war der Ausflug mit dem Essen sehr schön und gut.

En arrivant le matin nous avons été "accueilli" par un français Jean-pierre qui était assez agressif, beaucoup de personnes attendaient, on nous embarqué sur un bateau déjà trop plein. On nous garantissait max 30 pers. Et on était 46. Des personnes ont protesté auprès de J-P qui leur a dit que c'était ça ou rien... après on a encore découvert qu on avait payé 3x plus que certain. Vraiment dégoûtée, heureusement l'équipage était sympa.

Schöner Ausflug mit leichten Verbesserungsvorschlägen

Wir hatten gebucht in der Nebensaison, daher davon auszugehen, dass es mehr als wie beschrieben 8-10 Leute eher bis zu 20 und mehr auf dem Katamaran mitfahren. Wir hatten einen großen Katamaran erwischt, somit war es dennoch recht angenehm. Leider sind wir deutlich verspätet losgefahren und hatten somit weniger Zeit knapp 2, 5 Stunden auf der Insel. Die Jungs an Board waren sehr freundlich und haben uns gut versorgt. Allerdings da die Nordsee von Mauritius sehr rau ist, würde ich das nächste mal eher ein speed boat bevorzugen, da von den 20 Leuten nahezu die Hälfte übergeben haben. Alles in allem war es dennoch ein netter Ausflug.
