We did the kayak tour on the Tamarin river. The scenery is absolutely spectacular! Won’t eg mountains in the background. Our guide was very friendly and informative. It’s a lovely way to spend the afternoon.

This trip was very disappointing. Unfortunately our guide, Olivier seemed very distracted - incomplete kit and more disturbing leaving me and my inexperienced 14 year old at the back of the group and not once asked how we were getting on. For 1.5 hrs I saw the back of Olivier. We didn’t stop for a drink at all, and the trip, advertised as 2.5hrs lasted barely 1.5 hours. We understand that some changes had been made to the river levels a few days earlier but we weren’t advised. I fell in at the start of the activity trying to get into the kayak - Olivier totally missed this as he had already started paddling at the front of the group. My husband was in his kayak and said that Olivier spent almost the whole of the 1.5hrs on the phone to his friends. We had no guide this afternoon other than a few comments as to which parts of the river were shallow and to move to the left/right. He pointed out one house but no reference to the surroundings, wildlife. In fact as I was mostly in excess of 50 meters from his kayak I couldn’t hear him anyway. Totally unrewarding and disappointing afternoon. Having said that I enjoyed teaching my daughter how to kayak (I am no expert). Hopefully a one off as generally this activity has great reviews but for us just hiring kayaks would have been more rewarding and a lot cheaper!
We had a lovely couple of hours kayaking on the river. Our guide was really knowledgeable about the local area. We saw lots of monkeys and lovely scenery.

Kayaking on the Tamarin River was beautiful - we kayaked into the mangroves and our guide Olivier was great, pointing out all the wildlife and knew exactly where to kayak as there are quite a few very shallow areas where your kayak could get stuck. He made sure to check back on us and translate everything for us in English. It was tiring but so much fun.

What a fantastic way to spend an afternoon! The company kindly helped us to arrange transfers from our hotel to the site and they had great communication when we needed to move the date of our trip as our daughter was poorly.

It was an amazing tour. My 10 year old son and I really enjoyed kayakin, lush nature and our guide Rowin was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the nature and Mauritius. Anything we asked he was happy to provide interesting facts with smile and warm attitude. Rowin took some photos of us during the tour and messaged them later. He even assist us and shared the knowledge of what people in Mauritius use for cough which was very helpful for my son. I would highly recommend the tour and guide Rowin.
