Everything went exactly as planned. Received a WhatsApp message the day before our tour reconfirming the pick up time for our hotel, then the morning of pickup received a text from our driver when he was 10 minutes out.
After a comfortable ride to the starting spot we enjoyed coffee while watching our balloon get inflated.
When it was ready we hopped in and quickly were airborne for our 45 minute flight. Our pilot did a great job of rotating our balloon so everyone could take in the views, and we got to witness the most beautiful sunrise. When it was time to descent and land the landing was super smooth; barely even felt it!
We then received our souvenir certificates and were driven back to the starting point for breakfast. Good assortment of pastries and yogurt along with Coffee and tea.

As an experience 100% recommend. Watching the sun rise over Morroco was beautiful. That said, there are some things which could have been handled better. As noted on other reviews, the journey was nowhere near the promised "around one hour". It was much closer to 20 minutes and we flew far lower than many other balloons, quite probably to save on fuel and increase their profits despite other experiences being priced similarly and going much higher or further.
The landing was, in a word, brutal. They came in too fast the first time and we skidded across the ground hard, before rising up into the air and attempting a second landing. As long as you are physically fit and not in any risk groups you should be fine, although you might come out with a few aches/pains or a bit of whiplash.
The Morrocon breakfast after we landed was good. Local fare and fruit in plentiful supply, along with tea and coffee.
Overall a good experience, but check out the various providers and consider renting one of the smaller/private baskets if it's within your budget.

We took the sunrise flight and it was well worth getting up early. Wonderful experience with these experienced people. Good tea in the morning and nice breakfast. Take the sunrise one to make the most of it.

What a morning!! The weather was perfect and the team was very good. The pilot and his team as well as all the staff were very friendly and the morning went off perfectly!!
The sunrise was spectacular and the flight duration was perfect.
If you are a little adventurous and want a very memorable experience flying over Morocco, seeing the Atlas Mountains and watching the sunrise over the mountains I highly recommend you do this when you are visiting Marrakech.

This was by far the highlight of our trip to Marrakech.
All staff was very friendly and the optional (without any pushing) video and pictures was also very much worth it.
I have to recommend this to everyone.
PS: breakfast was not super but really, who cares the experience was :)

Good experience slightly misleading.
Would have been nice to be told where we were being collected from as not the Riad as agreed.
Views were stunning. Be sure to book a private basket for your group (which we did) gives you more room

Good Contact. Speak English, French and Spanish. Very ponctual. The car driver and the balloon pilot were very cool and professional. About 1h flying. Good breakfast in arrival. But it's not really next by the "desert" or the "Atlas" as they say in the title.

This was an unforgettable experience for us. Easy booking, confirmed via email about pick up and drop off times. We were picked up on time from the hotel and were back at the hotel at the planned time. The breakfast after the flight was very nice as well, enough food options to choose from and enjoy while eating outdoors ! Very friendly people and reliable company.

The overall experience was enjoyable, and I appreciated several aspects of the tour. The driver who picked me up was punctual, friendly, and engaging— which was a great touch.
Once we arrived, the staff on-site were welcoming, and the pilot made the flight feel very relaxed and fun. The views were beautiful, and it was a peaceful ride overall.
However, I was a bit disappointed that we only ascended to 420 meters. Based on what I had read and expected, I was hoping we’d reach at least 600 meters for a more thrilling experience and better panoramic views.
Undecided if I would book again, the experience was good, but it didn’t fully meet my expectations in terms of altitude.

Our experience didn’t start well at our original date, arrived the venue, had our breakfast while waiting for the ballon ride. Unfortunately the whole event had to cancelled due to the bad weather. However, this not stopping us, we rescheduled at ease with no hassle with Moroccan Sky Ballooning then here we come second times.
We are totally impressed with the whole experience from getting picked up and dropped off in the Medina.
Watching the balloons get blown up to the actual ride during the sunrise which was just breathtaking! The pilot is friendly and professional to keep us safe and relax in the sky.
The view , fresh air, sunrise, peace and calm are the best ingredients for a good start of the day!
Such an unforgettable experience and Moroccan Sky ballooning is a fantastic company to fly with. Thank you for having us, Best day of our life!

Amazing experience with the hot air balloon. We saw the sunrise and were in the air longer than most of the balloons.
Our pilot was very friendly and the hotel pick up and drop off was very helpful. The driver Aboubaker was very friendly and accommodating.
Only thing which can be improved is the breakfast. Had high hopes but was just served with some local breads , eggs and drinks and some more small delicacies. Would like to see more warm dishes in the breakfast for an authentic Berber breakfast experience!

Ignore the one and two star reviews. My partner was hesitant having read them but we found it a well organised event (including the 4x4 transport). Did we go as high as other balloons - not at first no, but did get quite high eventually. We were up for daybreak over the Atlas and that’s what we wanted. Up for about 40 minutes in total - very serene experience and lovely breakfast after landing. Only thing stopping a 5 star review is the fact I would have liked to race up high like the other balloons rather than get up there eventually only to start descending again.

The hot air balloon is a very good experience. I visited Morocco because of the hot air balloon. We have seen the balloon preparation how it works and ther photography was very well experience and professional. I recommend to take red photography they do drone shots as well. The whole team is very friendly and helpful.

DO NOT PAY YOUR MONEY FOR THIS!!!! IT IS NOT WORTH IT! The actual experience is a massive rip off.
We were in the air for 30 minutes, we didn't go high or far despite seeing other other hot air balloons go higher, further and being up in the air overall for longer. This experience is advertised to last for an hour and after the experience when we raised this with an employee he said based on windy conditions it can last from 30-50 mins but weather conditions were good and it was not windy at all that day.
Both Viator and Morocco Sky Ballooning refuse to accept that this experience was not as advertised, will not accept accountability, which is massively disappointing from both the vendor and Viator, especially as booking via Viator is meant to be reputable and a "safer" way to book for excursions/experiences around the world. I do not recommend Viator or this experience.
Not only was the experience disappointing but there is no good customer service from Morocco Sky Balloon or Viator, to address our consumer rights.
If you do wish to do this, book directly with Morocco Sky Balloon directly, it's only 120euros versus on Viator.

We had our hot air balloon ride booked with you through Viator for October 5, 2024.
When we booked our hot air balloon ride, we had been looking forward to it for months and expected it to be the highlight of our trip. Sadly, thanks to Morocco Sky Ballooning, this was not the case.
Pick up from our hotel came on time. We arrive at the base where we checked in and had our morning coffee and were offered the photo package.
We were ushered to our hot air balloon ride where my friend and I were separated so we were not able to take scenic photos together. If this were the only issue I could have looked past it but the worst was yet to come.
We were the first air balloon that was put into the air. After about 10-15 mins, we started to descend. We asked our pilot what was happening and he told use we had to land for 2 late passengers. We crashed into the ground 3 times and were told that conditions were not good for landing. Finally the 4th attempt they landed to pick up the additional passengers. We did get back up in the air but we never reached max height and we spent more than half our balloon ride trying to land, first to pick up passengers and then for our actual landing.
When we landed, we complained to a company employee as we were told "this is our policy". And you still had fun.
Actually, we didn't. We had a "fun" 10-15 mins before we had to land and were crashed into the ground multiple times. This frustration overshadowed the entire experience!
And this definitely should not be a company policy to land for late comers. Why should the people that were there on time be penalized for those that couldn't get there on time. Why should we not get the experience we paid for?
And if they knew that passengers were late, then why not wait 10 minutes to launch our balloon and wait for them rather than launching us in the air (first) and then having to make multiple attempts to land? By waiting for the late comers we all would have to a peaceful and scenic experience we expected and paid for.
Not only were we disappointed by our overall flight experience but we were also disappointed with how our concerns were addressed. The hot air balloon rides are not cheap and when you are not provided the experience that was booked and paid for and concerns are raised someone should care and not just shrug it off as policy. I also emailed the company once I returned home and no one ever responded.
I would still recommend a hot air balloon ride in Morocco, I would just recommend booking it with someone other than Morocco Sky Ballooning.

First time visitors to Marrakech. Our trip made special and memorable with the service providedby SAID. He kept on constant comms to ensure we had a wonderful wxperience from confirmation of booking, pick up, activity update. and dropoff. He’s very respectful. The phothraphy crew and breakfast reception crew were equally on top of their game. Definitely recommend to all visitors to Marrakech. FIVE star activity and service.
