Youssef was amazing ! This tour felt very personable , like a family member taking you out type of experience ! It wasn't one of those scripted tours like in most countries. He took me around to great shops as well as learning the history of the city and items that are produced there! I like that it was a 1 on 1 tour because it was tailored to my liking . He is very patient and a true gentleman! I also like that his English is very good making it easy to communicate ! Would highly recommend him!

Great way to explore deep into the market

Good experience if you want to dive deep into the nooks and crannies of the souks where you might not otherwise explore on your own. Youssef was very knowledgeable and helpful and showing us around different areas, including leather, lighting etc. Be mindful that you’ll likely go to shops that were picked out in advanced that you may not want to explore, however, you have plenty of options to request certain items or shops in which he will custom tailor for what you need.

A wonderful experience, our guide Yusuf gave us a comprehensive tour of the souks and the different areas, taking time to ask us if there was anything in particular we were looking for. He helped us to negotiate the art of haggling in order to get the best price - brilliant! He gave loads of helpful tips and advice as we were three ladies on our own. A brilliant way to get the best out of the souls experience.

We learned where things were, the guide was kind. However- pressure to buy from "Preferred vendors," which were pricey large shops. Prices quoted were ridiculous, then the guide helped a bit, but still higher than they should have been, in comparison to later knowledge. Use discretion, but enjoy learning different areas and "how" shopping here works. Good choice for first day here.

For whatever time you have in Marrakech, this is a must see must do activity. Our guide Youssef was amazing and showed us the deeper hidden gems of the souk all while telling us about its rich history. He was extremely accommodating when we needed to change our time and also guided us to the right places to purchase any of the items on our wishlist. Youseff was amazing, I told him I was looking for a mirror and he took me to a non touristy spot and got £45 off the asking price! He took me around the Souks and gave me the history and I loved hearing about his life in Morocco. This isn't a shopping tour where you're pushed into buying stuff, I'm really glad I did it this way

We had a great tour of the souks. Definitely recommend this option if you are anxious of getting lost or unsure where to go. Our guide Al Adil was welcoming and very good at explaining things. He was well known in the community and introduced us to some of the locals and gave us some background about them. He gave us some great recommendations near our hotel for eating out and what to see. We learned a lot about the culture and we were taken round the souks in a way that showed what day to day life is like for the locals. One shop that stood out was Bloty, we were amazed at this shop with one of the staff giving us a talk on the range of products that they offer along with where they come from, how they are made and how to use them. This tour is a real eye opener of how life is for locals and they so welcoming and trusting. There is a lot of beautiful items for sale and really good craftsmanship can be seen. Thank you again for such an experience. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone in thinking of getting a tour of the souks!

This was time well spent and an informative Souk tour. Very knowledgeable guide and the locals all seem to know him. We enjoyed our brisk stroll through the Souk. As others noted he does take you to his specific vendors. I ended up buying a rug that I was not planning to yet it is lovely and the price was reasonable.

We met Youssef just off the main square and he was great from the start, really nice manner and so knowledgeable about the area, history and culture. He guided us on what was good practice in the Souks and how to barter. He took us through the Souks in an ordered way and gave us details on the history and areas within. He took us to a place that specialised in herbs, oils and we got to mill the Argon oil. We went to a place that gave a demo on wood turning, a tannery and a dyer. There were option to purchase from these places but no pressure if we didn't want to. We also saw sand coffee being made and stopped for a cup! If you’re interested in the souks but feel overwhelmed as we did, then this is 100% the tour and guide for you! We started at 10am and it was a good time for us as later in the tour it was starting to get very hot, so we felt the earlier start worked better for us. Youssef was a brilliant guide!! Really friendly, we were a group aged between 6years old and 77 years old and he kept all of us engaged!!

I booked this experience after reading the other positive reviews and it didn’t disappoint. I can only echo the previous reviews in their praise. Youssef is an amazing guide to help you tackle the maze of the medina and souks. I had a few items I wanted to shop for and I managed to purchase them all. Also with the help of Youssef haggling for me. Apart from the shopping Youssef also provides you with historical facts of the city so you get a feel for the culture of Marrakech too. I’d highly recommend him. He is also a certified tour guide so I will definitely look at booking him for a longer visit through Morocco in the future :)
