Picked up at hotel promptly 4:5am as I was first of many stops, long drive out to site but lovely breakfast of teas, coffees, crepes, bread, jam, olives, hard boiled eggs. Then drive to hit air balloons. Directed to board by weight to equalize lift off and landing the airship.Beautiful sunrise with picturesque view of all the other balloons and sunrise! The landing personnel were great at filming us individually with balloon which would have been impossible in the sky! Great adventure -glad I did this in Morocco my third voyage -prior in Egypt and USA! Highly recommend this company!👍

The ride was only about 15 minutes and it’s tons of rocks and you have to climb in hot air balloon so dress accordingly. The breakfast is u sitting down with 6-8 other strangers at a table all digging into the same plate. There is no extra things to do or see like they state in the description. They don’t even tell you your pick up time till the night before literally was told 9:00pm on 03/07 that my pick up was 6 am on 03/08.

Dreadful behaviour by tour operator

Tour operator changed the pick-up location at the last minute the evening before a pre-dawn pick-up. Location was stated on the ticket to be our riad within Marrakech centre but then we were told after 9pm that we had to walk to new pick location more than 1km away in the dark the next morning! Also told not able to obtain a refund as insufficient notice to cancel. Dreadful behaviour by tour operator - you are warned!!

The actual hot air balloon flight was amazing and memorable but the experience is not as described. We booked with this company as it advertised hotel pick up and our hotel (out of the city on a golf resort) was available to select for one of the 270+ pick up locations. As most other companies did not offer the pick up option I sent the company a message on 24th November confirming this was definitely correct. I received no response for over 4 weeks. We heard nothing from the company until 9pm the night before who then informed us that we would have to meet them at a petrol station 25 minutes drive from our hotel on the other side of Marrakech and it was too late to cancel. When I told them we had booked hotel pickup, tried to confirm a month before etc, they ignored my messages. We ended up booking a taxi which cost us £36 return to take us at 7am the next morning. The balloon flight was not at sunrise as advertised. We were driven 40 minutes into the desert and got dropped off at a hot air balloon. No information was given by the company. The balloon flight itself was a brilliant experience. The pilot was friendly and funny and gave some information about what we could see. There is not much to see, one Riad and a Berber village, but still enjoyable to be up in the hot air balloon. When we landed we were put back in a minibus. We asked the driver if we were going back or for a Berber breakfast as advertised so we could let our taxi know when we’d be back. He told us he didn’t speak English and put us back in the minibus. We did then arrive for a Berber breakfast which was lovely and included pancakes, crumpets and naan like breads with jams and honey, boiled eggs and olives. Overall the experience is something I’m glad we did, but I’d definitely book through another company.

Fantastic experience, slightly marred by not knowing what time pick up would be until 9:40pm night before. Picked up from hotel on schedule, 2 or 3 more pick ups after my hotel, then about 45mins to the desert. Dropped off next to the balloon. Climbing into the basket can be tricky for less able bodied, then need to crouch down for take off and return landing. At departure, basket gets dragged along the ground and just when I thought 'is this going to plan', up it went. Climbs quite quickly giving beautiful views of the surrounding desert and Atlas Mountains. Takes around 45mins - on return driven to Berber Tent for breakfast and then back to the city. About 4.5hrs start to finish.

This is a very well organised trip. Worth every penny. I was a bit apprehensive as I have a fear of heights but there was no need i thoroughly enjoyed it.

Balloon ride

We were collected at the meeting point @5:15. We were first and then collected others. Arrived at destination for tea and cake about 6am. Biggest issue we had was early start to sit here nearly 3 hours to get on balloon ride!! Made absolutely no sense we could have skipped tea and just got on balloon for 9am. Ballon ride lasted 35 mins. It was good to do it. Staff were really nice. Had berber pancakes tea and egg and it was fine. Then got dropped back near destination. All in all alot of wasted time when we really just needed 1 hour for ride and breakfast. Could have collected us at 8. Saved us 3 hours.

Very misleading booking. When I booked and put in our hotel details booking was confirmed with pick up from Aquamirage where we were staying. This was on both the booking and the confirmation email. I chased the pick up times a few days before the trip as I heard nothing. The day before I chased again - I received a reply to stay that details would be provided that afternoon. Afternoon came and went - nothing. Evening I messaged again and was told I would receive pick up at 07.25am from a hotel 12km away. I challenged this and was told nope I needed to get a taxi or shuttle bus there. No shuttle at that time from the hotel. We didn’t have enough dirham to pay for a taxi. The hotel cashier was closed and the atm not working. Had I been warned of this earlier I could have made provision. Unable to cancel without losing the money as past 24 hr policy. Absolute joke! The trip is 4 hours - most of this is spent travelling to the site. 45 mins in the balloon and 45 mins having breakfast. This part was good but a lot of money especially on top of the disappointment of poor planning. If you’re staying at Aquamirage I wouldn't book via this company.

Not a sunrise balloon experience

I along with many others booked a sunrise balloon ride. However late the evening before we received messages confirming we would be collected at 8am. So clearly this was not a sunrise experience, and also too late to cancel. The balloon ride lasted about 45 mins, it circled a small compound. There were no other balloons up in the air. We queried why it was not sunrise as booked only to be told we hadn't booked sunrise experience. The company had a prepared response - show me where it states sunrise on your voucher. And it didn't state any time on the voucher even though everyone had selected the sunrise option at start of the booking process. My advice - when you book with this company PLEASE IMMEDIATELY OPEN THE VOUCHER TO SEE IF THE WORD SUNRISE IS STATED, IF NOT THEN IMMEDIATELY CANCEL AS YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. Don't wait for them to confirm collection time as by the time they have confirmed that it will be too late to cancel.

The start time of the activity was unclear. When I contacted the guide more than 24 hours before the start time I didn’t not get a response. Less than 12 hours before the activity was to start I was contacted with a start time that was different than I expected and did not work with my travel schedule. I called viator to see what to do. On a recorded line I was told because this vendor did not respond to me in the appropriate time period, that I would be getting a refund. Knowing I would get a refund, I chose to do the activity at the time I was able to, with a guide I found in person. I was then contacted by viator and told I would not be getting a refund. When I relayed that I was told I would get a refund on a recorded line, I was still told it would not be refunded. My big take away here. Don’t book with viator. Choose a guide through your hotel or through an agency in person. Had I know this would happen I would have never booked through viator. I will never use viator again.

We were supposed to have orange juice on arrival at the balloon, we didn’t, optional Camel ride we did not get this either!! The balloon ride itself was amazing… The seats in the bus were broken the driver was driving so fast over bumpy roads made this very uncomfortable

I am so happy I booked this trip !! I was a bit anxious as I am not so good with hights !! We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the ballon .The pilot was so friendly ,good sense of humour and put us at ease . The view was amazing !! So peaceful i would definitely recommend. We then had breakfast before we returned which was a traditional breakfast,amazing tea ! Amazing trip

To be honest, while the tour itself was enjoyable, the overall experience was let down by poor communication and logistical issues with the company. The day before our scheduled tour, I received a call saying it was canceled due to weather — something I later found out was untrue. It felt more like the company was overbooked and trying to shuffle guests around. We weren’t given a confirmed meeting time until 9:00 PM the night before, which made planning difficult. The pickup process was stressful — we were told to be at the meeting point by 5:10 AM, but at 5:06, the guide called saying we were already late. At the initial meeting spot, the included breakfast was much more limited than advertised — just coffee and banana cake, even though the listing mentioned croissants, juice, and more. The return breakfast at the end of the tour was also very basic. When my husband asked for water, we were told someone would bring it around, but by the end, we were simply told they had run out. That said, the actual tour and our captain were fantastic — fun, engaging, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, the poor organization and misleading information overshadowed what could have been a great experience. Overall, it was just okay, but I wouldn’t book with this company again

This was a surreal experience. I’m so glad I chose to do this, even though I was slightly nervous to go up. I was picked up by a driver for another company. I wanted to wait for another driver, but we had some language barrier problems. After a couple phone calls to her company, she insisted I come with her. They knew where I was supposed to go and sped me across the desert to the correct starting point. I’m so thankful! Everyone was kind and professional from start to finish.

It was our first experience and booking it through Viator was a first experience too. I was panicking as I'd already paid and there was no response from the tour operator. I was ringing them well before 24hrs of the event day. But they wouldn't answer. But later I noticed that every tour operator do send you a text as a reminder just 10hrs before the day. It was an amazing experience, our hotel was in a very isolated area and I thought they would struggle to locate our hotel. But they did come on the time they mentioned, punctuality was the plus point. Our day started at about 5am early morning. We were about 16 people in a minibus and they took us to a shack that was just beside the balloon flight for morning tea/coffee n cakes. Then they quickly took us to the the flight and showed us safety instructions. Soon after that within few minutes we were floating in the air. Our flight operator was highly experienced person and he maneuvered it an way do that everyone enjoys 360 degree view. We had witness the sunrise and than after about 20mins our flight descended. So overall it was a 35-40mins flight. You do get ample time to take loads of pictures. Soon after descending we were taken to the same shack for a proper berbier breakfast and after that we were dropped at our hotel. So overall it was amazing, once in a lifetime experience. Would highly recommend to people who like to dare. From picking and dropping to flight experience, I would rate the tour operator 5* Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Notebook, please, the more reliable company. They are not responding to any of our messages and completely unprofessional. There are other trusted companies on Vidor that you should look into booking instead especially for an excursion that is as dangerous as this I’d buy coin with the company that’s more established and professional.

Avoid if it’s not sunrise

Unfortunately the sunrise flight was fully booked so we went on the 8:30 am balloon ride. I would definitely NOT recommend going other times than sunrise or sunset. When the sun is fully out, the light becomes so hazy and there is no more horizon. Which made the landscape very boring, and not very interesting, just dry flat land, and barely no other balloons flying. We also were rushed into the balloon as soon as we got off the car, leaving no time to take nice photos with the balloon or just appreciate what we are about to experience (which after all wasn’t that memorable anyway). After the ride, still no real chance to take a photo with the balloon as it’s get deflated right away. We were then brought to a so called “berber” breakfast which consisted of 2 types of “bread”, some jam jars impossible to open because crowded with bees, and a thousand bees flying around you. I think the experience could have been much better though if it had been a sunrise flight.

We got picked up at 0530hrs pick up and arrived to be served some mint tea and slices of cakes which were delicious, We then drove a short while to the hot air balloon and enjoyed a 40mins ballon your a little after sunrise, It was a smooth ride and some amazing views for photos, I would say of bringing children perhaps ear protection as when the have to constantly add more heat to keep the ballon up this is fairly loud and kids might find this to loud. We landed safely and were taken back to the tent area where we enjoyed various breads with honey and jam more mint tea and a boiled egg, One lady seemed to be in charge of service for this and was very lovely, We gave her a tip before we left as everyone else seemed keen to get back to the mini bus, She was super happy and full of hugs but she certainly deserved it and I encourage anyone visiting to do the same. It was a great experience and one my wife wanted to tick off her list, we felt safe the whole time and it was worth the early start for.

Communication regarding pick up was dreadful and during commute to site. We requested a sunrise flight but nothing mentioned and the weather was very poor...in my opinion the trip should of been cancelled. Picked up at 0650 and arrived at Balloon 0925 after waiting on the side of a road then parked in a petrol garage. No continental breakfast served before flight, no certificate given after flight and was separated for Berber breakfast for no such reason. The whole activity was such a disappointment especially given it was £102 each. I will say the driver was very friendly.
