We had a fantastic day visiting the Ouzoud Waterfalls. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and it’s a trip I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting Morocco.
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the area, which really added to the experience. However, there was one downside. The pace of the walk was far too fast, and unfortunately the guide didn’t wait for the slower members of the group. Three of us struggled to keep up while the younger, fitter members quickly disappeared ahead. At several points we were left guessing which path to take because the group had moved so far ahead. That was frustrating and, at times, quite worrying.
A little more consideration for people of different fitness levels would make this excursion much more enjoyable for everyone. Waiting occasionally to ensure the whole group stays together would make a huge difference.
Despite that, this is an incredible day out and one I would still recommend. Just be prepared—the walk down is steep, and the climb back up is hard work. Make sure you wear sensible footwear with good grip and be realistic about your fitness level before booking.
Overall, a beautiful experience with stunning views, but the guiding pace could definitely be improved.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Dear Emma,
Thank you for your honest and helpful feedback. We're so glad you enjoyed the stunning views. We're sorry the pace was too fast and some guests were left behind. We will address this with our guide. Thank you for recommending us!
Ellen_Q, Jul 2026
I wouldn’t do this again. They take you to see a donkey that is tied to a tree with its back bleeding, bones sticking out and it can’t get to any water. It is surrounded by little streams but tied to the one tree where it can’t get any water
The bus was 30mins late to pick us up. We stood outside another hotel (because they wouldn’t get us from our hotel) from 7:50am like asked and there was no update to say they were running late
The tour itself is informative but there is so much time wasted standing around. It felt very unorganised and time wasted in very hot weather
I would recommend not booking a tour, come and go when you please and make your own way round
If you do go on this tour - there are lots of shops at the beginning - make sure that you pick up some water / drinks. It’s very hot and there won’t be any warning from your guide that you won’t be able to get a cold drink anywhere for the next 2 hours
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Dear Ellen,
Thank you for your honest and detailed feedback. We are very concerned about the donkey you described and will investigate immediately. We're also sorry for the late pickup and lack of communication. Your advice about water is helpful. Thank you for sharing.
Bandish_D, Jul 2026
Experience was brilliant, picked us up on time, received confirmation day before. The trip itself was very good. The guides were excellent, grouped in chosen language. We didn't book any lunch as are very strict vegetarian. Waterfall and Monkey were very good Experience. If you have difficulty in walking or breathing difficulty then this trip may be difficult as there is lots of uneven walking & over 700 stairs i would have given 5 Star but I had to give 4 Star as it was very very Hot about 40⁰C and there was no Air Conditioner in the minibus which was the downside. Apart from that I would recommend this to anyone
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Dear Bandish,
Thank you for your helpful review. We're glad you enjoyed the guides, waterfalls, and monkeys. We're sorry about the lack of A/C in the heat. Your tips about fitness and stairs are great. Thank you for recommending us!
Bob_E, Jun 2026
The falls were stunning. It looks so much better in person than what the pictures show. Yousef was an amazing guide, and if you have him you are lucky. If you go on this tour, DO NOT swim in the water, as it is very dangerous to do so.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Dear Bob,
Thank you for your great review. We're so glad you loved the falls and that Yousef made your experience special. And thank you for the important safety warning about swimming. Very helpful for future travelers. Thank you!
Konstantinos_I, Apr 2026
Dress modest and prepare for some waterfall spay in the boat ride. Do not be scared of the monkeys, if you dont approach them with food in your hand they are friendly and harmless.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Dear Konstantinos,
Thank you for your great review! We're so glad you had a cool and smooth trip. Excellent tips about dressing modestly, the boat spray, and the monkeys, very helpful for future travelers! Hope to see you again.
Katherine_P, Apr 2026
Had a good amount of time at the falls, about 4 hours. Booked the self guided but pushed a bit to get a guide. Guide cost 30 dirhams and boat ride 20 dirham. Much cheaper than doing the add on. Bathrooms were about 2 dirhams or free with lunch.
Hike was a bit shorter than I expected and lots of crowds so walk was pretty slow.
It is a long day but worth the drive.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Dear Katherine,
Thank you for your detailed and honest review! We're glad you had a good amount of time at the falls and found it worth the drive. Great tip about the guide and boat costs. We're sorry you were pushed to take a guide for the self-guided option, we'll address this. Thank you for sharing!

Right, getting there was fine, about 3 hours, picked up at 8, we left Marrakech at 8:30, got there around 11:30. When we got there we were taken to a restaurant to go to the toilet after long driver and before tour, we had to pay to use the bathroom, which was fine until we walked past a bunch of restaurants with free toilets 15 minutes later. Lunch is not included so I thought that meant we could pick where and what we wanted to eat, since it’s not included and we have to pay but no, we got taken to this restaurant and told we had to eat there, I and a few others questioned it but he said tour stops here (I didn’t think we’d have a guide in first place, I thought we’d be dropped off and told to meet back here at whatever time) he eventually said fine you no need to eat but stay here with group and walked away, we sat down and they started bringing things over, wouldn’t listen when we tried to say no, just let plate and walked away, the brought a salad, then olives, then bread, then asked if we wanted chicken Tagine or vegetarian, wasn’t taking no for an answer, so we just ate there an it wasn’t the best and cost 130 MAD, didn’t get to choose drunk either just got brought a bottle of water and left without asking. The boat ride is included, all 5 mins of it, you have 2 separate queues, one for people with it included in tour and one for people paying there and then and it was obvious they didn’t want to take are side for rides, for every 6 boats that came back to dock, one boat would come to our queue, and are tour was a big tour on a massive coach bus and there was loads of people there on tours, so massive queue that wasn’t moving, waited in line for 40 mins to get boat ride. Also be aware of the people selling stuff for the monkeys, they just hold some food up to your shoulder behind your back and when monkey jumps on you, the demand money for picture and to get monkey off you. Also will take you to boring almond oil thing and we got dropped off at 7:55pm when we were told drop off would be around 6:30pm as with drop offs might make us later, not an hour and 25 mins late and we weren’t late because of drop offs it’s because we left falls area late at 5pm with a 3 hour drive, we were late coz guides were messing about taking ages and they split are massive group up into a bunch of other massive groups so we had to wait for each group to get back and each group got back at different times so was nightmare, I booked something for 7:30pm not thinking it excursion would be an hour late. Overall the falls are very worth a visit but I would suggest getting there independently, with a driver to set your own schedule and do what you want and eat what you want.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Dear Joseph,
Thank you for your detailed feedback. We're glad you found the waterfalls worth it. We sincerely apologize for the issues, rushed lunch, long boat wait, late return, and unclear expectations. To clarify, toilets are not included. We will share your comments with our team. Thank you for letting us know.
Rachel_H, Feb 2026
Great day out! Moussa was an excellent driver and made us feel safe on the sometimes rocky roads.
Beautiful views, well worth the visit!
Wear good trainers, or hiking boots. It is very slippery at the bottom.
The monkeys bite and steal food, so watch out!
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Dear Rachel,
Thank you for your magical review! We're so glad you had a great day out and that Moussa was an excellent, safe driver on the rocky roads. We appreciate your helpful tips about wearing good trainers, the slippery conditions, and the cheeky monkeys! Beautiful views indeed. Hope to see you again!

It was a nice day trip. Though it was a long drive for this activity, our driver Moussa took care of safe and pleasant driving. Our guide Yousef was knowledgeable and provided additional information on Berbers along with the waterfall activity including short boat ride.

Beautiful experience besides the rainfall. Time of year matters. Muddy & cold in December. Dark waters. Wonderful, experienced, and friendly tour guide.

Thank you for your kind review. We're delighted you had a beautiful experience despite the rain and muddy conditions, and that your guide was wonderful, experienced, and friendly. We hope to welcome you back in a different season for a new perspective.

Long drive but it enabled us to see différent scenery and at destination we met a great local guide Mohamed Boufarma. He explained what we would see, the history behind it , very interesting.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Dear Anne Marie,
Thank you for your feedback! We are glad the journey offered diverse scenery and that Mohamed Boufarma provided an interesting and informative guided experience at the waterfalls. We hope the stunning views made the long drive worthwhile.
We hope to welcome you on another tour in the future!
Elisabeth_S, Oct 2025
It was good to see the waterfalls but I'm not sure of it is worth the six hour roundtrip. The walk around the lake was stretched to four hours (incl. one hour for lunch) and felt too long and not at the right pace, could have been an hour. The boat ride was nice but not what I expected. The guide was very helpful though and explained everything very well. The monkeys were horrible! We saw one ripping a kids bag off them and eating the food inside - be careful!
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Dear Elisabeth, thank you for your honest feedback. We are glad our guide was helpful and provided good explanations. We appreciate your notes on the tour's pace and the monkeys, and we're sorry the journey felt long for the experience.
Angela_S, Oct 2025
This is a great tour but a really long and hot day. If you struggle with mobility it is not a good option .
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Dear Angela,
Thank you for your honest feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the beautiful views but understand the long, hot day and mobility challenges. We appreciate you sharing this important information for future travelers.
We hope you enjoyed other aspects of your Morocco visit!
Matthew_R, Oct 2025
What a day the waterfalls, the boat ride, the monkeys, the lunch with a beautiful back drop. Brilliant trip. Our guide was Yousef and he was brilliant and a great laugh. Ando tours reached out to us the day before the trip and everything was spot on 10/10. If you have heart problems or struggle with fitness there is a LOT of climbing up and down slops & steps but there was plenty of breaks for fresh fruit drinks and pictures. Fantastic job to the tour guides.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Dear Matthew,
Thank you for your wonderful 10/10 review! We're thrilled you enjoyed the waterfalls, boat ride, monkeys, and lunch with Yousef's brilliant guidance. We're glad the breaks helped with the climbs and appreciate you highlighting Ando's organization.
We hope to welcome you on another adventure soon!

It was a 10 hour day and I enjoyed maybe 1 hour. I usually like long drives but the driver was very stingy with the AC, turning it off and on - it was 40 degrees out. The tour guide was a really lovely guy (didn’t catch his name) but he was very slow and there was just a lot of time standing around. If you’re someone who likes to take their time you will probably enjoy the day but it was far too stop and start for me especially as the drive is so long (3 hours each way) I just want to see the sights and get back!
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Dear Guest, thank you for your honest feedback. We sincerely apologize for the discomfort with the AC and the pacing issues during your tour. We will address these concerns with our team to ensure a more comfortable and efficient experience for future guests. We appreciate you highlighting the guide's kindness and hope we can provide a better journey for you next time.
cj_s, Sep 2025
Absolutely amazing. I was really scared about how hard going the walk would be in the heat especially being unfit however there were loads of stops, and you can take it however slow you want within reason The guide takes a register to ensure everyone is there. The food was good and reasonably priced. The walk to the argan place was optional but quite boring, the boat tour was great but you get very wet so id recommend bringing a phone cover. overall not rushed and really enjoyed
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Dear Traveler, Thank you for sharing your experience in such detail! We're thrilled you had a perfect day and that the pace was comfortable for you. 😊 Your tips about the phone cover and the optional walk are incredibly helpful for future travelers. We're so glad you enjoyed the boat tour and the overall experience!
Venus_A, Sep 2025
It was a great day out. Our guide was amazing, very attentive and informative. The ride there and back was about 3hrs each. The time spent there was about 3 hours. Lots of stops for souvenirs along the walk and lots of lunch options costing aroun 13dur.
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Dear Traveler, Thank you for your fantastic review and recommendation! 😊 We're so pleased to hear you had a great day with our attentive guide. We appreciate you detailing the itinerary and lunch options for future travelers. We hope to see you on another tour soon!
Nora_P, Sep 2025
We had such an amazing trip to Ouzoud Waterfalls with our guide, Nour Eddine! There were 8 of us in the group, and he was so friendly, attentive, and always checking in on everyone. He knew the area so well and guided us through the Berber village, then down towards the boat ride. The steps on the way down from the Berber village were steeper and higher — I was worried sick about having to come back up the same way, and I saw many people struggling and stopping for a breather. Thankfully, Nour Eddine knew a better route for the hike back up, with smaller steps and even a lovely lunch break in between.
The view of the waterfall was absolutely breathtaking — we were given plenty of time to take pictures and really soak it all in. Nour made the whole experience smooth, fun, and memorable. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide!
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Dear Nora, thank you for sharing such a heartfelt and detailed review! 😊 We are absolutely thrilled to hear that Nour Eddine provided such attentive, knowledgeable, and caring guidance throughout your trip—especially in navigating the terrain thoughtfully and ensuring everyone’s comfort. It’s wonderful that you felt well-supported and could fully enjoy the breathtaking waterfalls, Berber village, and boat ride. We truly appreciate your kind words and are delighted that the experience was smooth, fun, and memorable. We hope to welcome you and your group on another adventure soon!
Charlie_K, Aug 2025
Amazing experience, our guide Mustafar was great, boat ride was cool and views are unbelievable, bring food for monkeys so you don’t get scammed by the people there giving nuts out, or buy a bag of nuts from a local shop rather than the men trying to hand them out as they try and rip you off but the shops don’t
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Dear Charlie, thank you for your fantastic feedback! 😊 We're thrilled Mustafar was a great guide and that you enjoyed the stunning views and cool boat ride. We appreciate your savvy tip about buying nuts from local shops instead of individual sellers, it’s helpful advice for future travelers. We hope to welcome you on another adventure soon!
Nimisha_P, Aug 2025
Positive : Youseff our guide and hiking the natural beauty around the falls.
Challenges - many tour groups. Large group size. Youseff worked hard to manage us all
Important to have good walking/hiking footwear especially if you have physical limitations.
Also remember to be on time for pick up - it is early at 8am. Other people have made a point of being punctual and the drivers have a schedule to keep.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Dear Nimisha_P, Thank you for your thoughtful and balanced review. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the natural beauty and Youssef's hard work as your guide. Your practical advice about footwear and punctuality is very helpful for future travelers. We appreciate you sharing your experience and hope to welcome you back again!
Paige_L, Aug 2025
Brilliant trip highly recommend!
Some of the other reviews almost put me off of booking this trip but I’m glad I decided to go and make my own mind up.
Our driver Rachidi was great, he kept me updated via WhatsApp and collected us on time, he was a skillful driver I felt very safe and he was very friendly. I would ask for Rachidi if you do this trip. The air conditioning in the van was perfect.
Yes the drive is long but I enjoyed watching the scenery change and we did have a short stop for food/toilet.
The waterfall and boat was incredible like something out of a movie, very beautiful! Yes there’re crowds but what do you expect it is a tourist attraction.
The restaurant I can’t comment much on as I wasn’t very hungry so I just asked for chips, the plate of chips was tiny and for two chips and a water cost 50dirum and I thought it was steep considering it was merely a handful of chips but the view of the waterfall was incredible from the restaurant.
I enjoyed seeing the monkeys with their babies.
I’m so glad I did this trip and would recommend it to friends.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Dear Paige_L, Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful review! We're thrilled you enjoyed the stunning waterfalls, the boat ride, and seeing the monkeys. It's wonderful to hear that Rachidi provided such a safe and friendly transport experience. We appreciate your honest feedback about the restaurant pricing and are glad the incredible views made up for it. We hope to welcome you back on another adventure soon!
Nathanya_D, Aug 2025
Minivan arrived early. Poor air conditioning (2 vents central down the van at ceiling height) which made the journey hot and Sweaty. Just a 10 minute break on the 3 hr journey both ways.
You don't really need a guide for this trail walk as it's well laid out with lots of shops and cafes. Boat ride was brief but takes you directly under the Waterfall (so not able to take pictures).
I didn't eat lunch and glad I didn't as when we got back to our hotel my partner was too unwell to have dinner - not dehydration as we hoth had 2 litre camel water packs which we topped up.
This was the last of our trips in Morocco so disappointed doesn't cover it.
Vans need proper air conditioning.
Stops need to be longer
Stop calling it a hike, it's a trail path in the Valley. We did just over 7.000 steps so definitely not a Hike.
Sharon_M, Jul 2025
Ouzoud is very scenic and very interesting we enjoyed the whole experience from hiking to seeing the Waterfalls. Boufarma Mohamed was our tour guide he was very patient and explained to the whole group how our days was going to be and also the Moroccan history. He would consider different individuals and spoke 2 languages for the benefit of everyone
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Dear Sharon, thank you for your wonderful review! 😊 We're thrilled you enjoyed the scenic hike and waterfalls, and that Mohamed's guidance and multilingual skills enhanced your experience. It's great to hear he made the day both informative and considerate for all. Hope to welcome you back for more adventures!
