This tour was a fantastic way to explore the world’s oldest Chinatown. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the city and its history, and she took us to several great spots with delicious food options. Every stop had something unique to try, and I learned a lot along the way.

Our guide Nel was entertaining, thoughtful, contentious and acommodating of our various food restrictions. The food selection was excellent and unique. We got to try local foods and “hole-in-the-wall” gems not known to even many locals, let alone tourists. Thank you Nel.

The tour was well paced and full of hidden gems. Nel was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and the food we were about to eat. She was also clearly experienced at leading a group all over Chinatown.

We are actually Filipinos living in the province. We dont come to Manila often. But we sure did enjoy this. Even if the food is already familiar to us, what we had was the better version. And the tour guide made the walking and tasting tour more fun. We also enjoyed her stories. We recommend this even for locals.

Spent a few wonderful hours with Nel and Pat who showed and told me so much about Chinatown and life in the Philippines. As we strolled through the bustling streets we stopped into several restaurants and tried amazing foods that there is no way I could have found on my own. Lumpia, noodles, dumplings … all really really good. The most fun part for me was just swapping stories with Nel and Pat and feeling their energy about what they were showing me.

Jian and Nel were amazing guides. Jian is full of knowledge, fun facts, and amazing suggestions. There is a lot of food to sample, we sampled half the order at each stop and we were still stuffed by the end. All of the food, at each stop, was freshly made and absolutely delicious. If you get the option to try the pigeon, we recommend you give it a try. We ordered one pigeon and shared it amongst 7 people.

The tour was superbly organized and very well paced. Chloe provided a lively commentary not just about the food, but also about the history and about the residents of Binondo, the world’s oldest China town. Every single item that we sampled was great. And there was A LOT of food to sample. None of the three people in our group was able to finish everything, but Chloe helped us get the leftovers from several different places carefully wrapped to take to the hotel. With the tour ending around 4 pm, I was stuffed to the gills, but those leftovers served as an excellent midnight snack.

We had a fabulous food tour with Rian. He not only takes you to taste a big variety of foods in various China Town restaurants but also gives you lots of history of China Town and Manila. Very knowledgeable and personable gentleman with amazing English.

This tour has a 5 star rating for a reason! I ended up being the only person on my Manila Chinatown food tour, but the guide Chloe made it feel like I was being taken around by a local friend. All of the stops are well thought out and feature hole in the wall spots that I wouldn’t have ever visited if not for this tour. Definitely book this tour and be sure to come hungry!

I cannot give Jian enough high praise. The day before the tour there were heavy rains and alot of our stops were still cleaning up on the day of the tour. Ever the gentleman, Jian took me and the other lady for lunch and apologised for the inconvenience even though it wasnt his fault. We agreed to meet up the following day and he was flexible to time as I had a pre booked event early in the day.
It was worth the wait.....oh my....all the food was amazing....from fresh lumpia to the dumplings...the dumplings....were mouth watering to the duck to the pies...it was all so tasty and even writing this review has reminded me how much I miss it....(man the dumplings especially).
Please take this tour and have Jian guide you to food heaven

very good experience for tourist and locals..good food, informative tour guide, interesting place. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the place history as well as the good ingredients. The tour was 3hours and the time was well managed. had tried about 7-8 different food ranging from snacky to filling all while covering the areas showing the rich legacy of the oldest chinatown.

For me, it was the 2nd food tour I did with Chloé and I was very happy (Did the Street Food Tour Introduction 2 days before). Especially since I got her all to myself!
Same fun and energy as in the 1st tour and this time around, ALL the dishes were so tasty!
I've never been a big fun of Chinese food but the Filipino version of it is nothing short of awesome!
If you want to do ONE food tour in Manila, THIS IS THE ONE!
Chloé gave me info not only about the food but also about the history of the Chinese neighborhood. She also helped me buy fruits after the tour was done and waited with me until I boarded the taxi. Much appreciated.

I booked this food tour for myself, my sister and nephew and we loved it! It was great to learn about the history and thought process behind the restaurants and stalls we experienced. The way the tour is set out makes a lot of sense and you will definitely be full. It was nice to have a guide to help navigate the bustling area and ensure we had tables at busy restaurants. I would definitely recommend going in the morning when its a bit cooler and on a weekday if you can. Jian was amazing and made the tour a favourite part of our trip in Manila. Thank you so much.
