💯 recommend this bike tour. Paolo was a wonderful guide. I really enjoyed my time riding my bike and learning so much about the history of the Philippines and Intramuros. Paolo and Christian took good care of us, making sure we were safe while riding, staying out of sun as much as possible, all while teaching us about all the places we visited. We got sunscreen & bugspray at the beginning, a cold drink in the middle and cold towel at the end. Wonderful time!!!

We are a couple from Manchester, UK, and we cannot recommend the Bambike Ecotours bamboo bike experience in Intramuros highly enough – it was genuinely one of the most unique, fun and memorable excursions we’ve ever done in the Philippines. From the moment our wonderful guide Justine greeted us with a warm smile at the Casa Manila meeting point and helped us choose our handmade bamboo bikes, we knew we were in for something special.
Justine was an absolute star – the perfect Bambassador! His knowledge of Manila’s Spanish colonial history is encyclopedic, but what really stood out was how he brought the old walled city to life with such enthusiasm, humour and genuine passion. Pedalling through the cobbled streets and along the ancient walls felt magical, and Justine made every stop fascinating. At Fort Santiago he shared moving stories of its dramatic past that gave us goosebumps, while at Manila Cathedral and the beautiful plazas he pointed out little details we would have completely missed on our own. He kept the pace relaxed and safe, made sure we all stayed together in our small group, and was so patient with our questions and photo stops.
The bamboo bikes themselves were brilliant – sturdy, surprisingly comfortable and such a lovely eco-friendly touch. Justine was brilliant at giving tips on the ride and even cracked a few jokes to keep everyone smiling through the heat. We loved the little extras too: plenty of filtered water refills, a refreshing cold towel at the end, and that surprise local ice cream treat which hit the spot perfectly.
Everything ran like clockwork from start to finish – professional, safe, and with that personal touch that made the whole day feel like a lovely adventure with a friend rather than just another tour. Five-star service and a five-star experience all the way. If you’re in Manila, do not miss this! It’s the best way to see the historic heart of the city.

This was a fairly easy bike ride around various historical spots within the walled city. Our guide, Josh, was excellent in displaying to us, on his iPad, the various stages of destruction and rebuilding which occurred during certain wars and reigns of Britain, the Spanish, Japan and the USA. The day was fully enjoyed by those of us in our small group of five. Josh communicates well in English and the tour was more than ample time to see the sights and get a good understanding.

Chi was a great guide. It was a fun ride around with interesting stops to go over the area history and monuments. The red tea and the ice cream were nice treats and we had a very friendly and interactive group.

This was a very enjoyable way to see the main sites across the city. Chi was a great tour guide. The biking was slow-paced and casual. The occasionally went on some busier roads. I appreciated the ice cream and cold towel at the end. Also, the restaurant above the ice cream shop and a great beer selection and delicious food.

Loved this tour, the bikes are super comfy and cool made from bamboo. They have all different styles of bikes too. I prefer biking over walking. It's less tiring, the breeze is nice, and you get to see more. All flat roads and there's an extra safety guy riding with you who stops traffic for the group to pass. Our tour guide ChiChi was great! Very informative and even answering questions about current controversial topics and we learned a ton. Thanks ChiChi!

Not too much actual biking involved, we could have done so much more! This tour happens rain or shine and it did start raining while we were biking, but it is warm rain and the guide provided ponchos. It was interesting to learn the history of Intramuros.

Whilst it was good I think it could be improved possibly by cutting out the first one or two stops and spending more time on the later ones. There’s not a huge amount to see but that could just be personal opinion. It’s a social enterprise so worth supporting

The tour itself was great, especially for people who enjoy biking. However, I want to share a few heads-ups for future guests.
There was a strong sewage-like smell in the area for most of the tour. The bathroom at the Bambike office was very dirty when I used it (there was vomit in and on the bowl, and no toilet paper), so I recommend avoiding it. I also don’t recommend the free ice cream they offer at the end of the tour. I had diarrhea afterward, which has continued for several days.
One more thing: after visiting Fort Santiago and learning about the Manila Massacre (the Japanese army killed thousands of civilians), the tour guide asked only me (the only Japanese person in the group) what I thought. While I understand history is important, being singled out made me feel uncomfortable and unfairly blamed for something I had no part in.
Aside from these issues, I enjoyed the biking experience and would still recommend the tour.

It was an amazing experience riding through the Intramuros area, a historical area in Manila. You can bring kids, but make sure they know how to ride well because you will be riding with cars and motorcycles at times on city roads. If they don't know how to ride, they have a wider seater option so an adult can peddle and the kid can sit in the back while holding onto the driver (like a scooter seat). It rained during our tour and they gave us ponchos to use. We loved riding through the rain though because it added to the memory/experience.
Our tour guide, Chi, was awesome! Very knowledgeable and had a sweet personality. She really knew her information well and was always willing to answer questions. if we could give a rating for her, it would be 5 stars also.

Our guide Chi was really energetic and takes time to explain the history of Intramuros. It was very cool ride inside the fort, stopping at each important points. The awesome bamboo bikes are also a highlight.
