Beautiful boat ride. Loved swimming in the water. I did know about the 29 euros but this was still expensive for gas for the boat.

Malta is beautiful and we enjoyed our drive to the marina. And the blue lagoon was also very nice (be sure to go into the long cave). The boat was underwhelming at best however. And the snorkel gear was not good at all (bring your own). The driver was very nice, but the language difficulties resulted in is waiting around for 20 minutes or more after the trip for our driver to arrive -- because the boat dropped us at a different dock and he did not let the driver know. Maybe it was ok for the price, but we would look for a better option next time even at a higher cost.

Thank you for your feedback 😊 We’re really glad to hear you enjoyed Malta, the Blue Lagoon, and especially the caves — it’s definitely one of the highlights! Regarding the drop-off, the wind direction changed last minute on the day, so for safety and comfort we had to dock on the south side instead of the north side. These decisions can happen quite suddenly, and while the driver did come over to the other side, it can take a few extra minutes, which explains the short wait. We appreciate your Feedback!!

Horrible from the beginning. Picked up by the wrong van, to too many people in a small boat. Not enough life jackets, did not check tickets or names, no safety briefing, snorkel gear dirty and not enough and was dropped off at a different pickup spot.

Hi Janna! This is Janet, sorry to read your review. I do feel this it is unfair to request a full refund and when that is not granted, to leave a 1-star review. For everyone reading here: to clarify, there are life jackets and snorkel masks available for all guests on board. Life jackets are not mandatory to wear, but you are always welcome to use one — ask the captain at any time. Regarding the route, the tour by boat started from North Quay in Ċirkewwa, however due to a change in wind conditions, the drop-off was at South Quay. This is still the same port, just on the opposite side, and only a few minutes’ walk but that was not needed since the taxi just came to the new spot. This is something beyond our control and does not affect the tour experience. The boat used is licensed and safe for up to 20 passengers, and your group of 16 was well within capacity. We always aim to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all our guests.

Make sure your boat captain actually has snorkel gear like the ad says. There was no snorkeling at all.

Th waters were cold and rough, but our captain did a great job making it a fun time for everyone to see the beauty of the island. The drive was definitely long and bumpy on the way out, and they crammed us in a van that was TIGHT. But all in all we had a good time!

Was a horrible experience! Right from the start! Wrong driver showed up even though they sent a picture of the license plate! No ac on the bus. The boat we were put on was not safe for the number of people that were on it. Not enough life vest for all on board. No bathroom, no food or water. The destination was nice, but the biggest rip off was the extra $29 dollars we had to pay per person that we did not know about until the day before!!! What we originally paid snd the extra $60 per couple was certainly not worth it!!! We had friends do the same excuowith another company and only paid $29 per person and had a large boat, bathrooms and snacks!! Very unhappy with Viator and not representing this excursion in the right way!! Should get a partial refund for your lack of performance!!

Hey Stephen, this is Janet, sorry to hear that you felt disappointed. I would like to clarify a few important points. Your booking was made on the 8th of May for the 25th of May and all relevant information was sent to you on the same day. Also €29 per person fee which is excluded and was clearly stated. The same information was shared again in the group chat a few days before, and once more the day before the trip. As you acknowledged the pickup details, it is quite unusual that all the other information was missed. Regarding safety, there are life jackets available for all passengers on board — these can be requested from the skipper at any time. We welcomed 16 guest on board this tour and the boat can welcome 20 guests.
As stated, there is no bathroom on board, and food or drinks are not included, but guests are welcome to bring their own. This is mentioned multiple times prior to the trip and is not advertised otherwise.
We always aim to be transparent with all details so guests know exactly what to expect.

The driver was excellent, kind and very knowledgeable! He pointed out key sites and shared information on local history and customs. Equally impressive was our boat driver who pointed out keys areas from the water and masterfully maneuvered in and out of caves. The description of this tour did not explain that there would not be one constant tour guide, which would have been helpful in knowing what to expect. Regardless, both parts of the tour (driving and boat) came together and it was a wonderful experience!

Felt scammed by the boat pperator who required an extra port fee in cash before boating the boat,???! Port Fee, per person, it was unexpected and wrong, if I could demand my money back I would. The taxi driver was not very informative about the area.

You joined our semi-private group tour of Outdoor Explorers Malta designed especially for cruise passengers, which included pickup directly from the Valletta Cruise Port, visits to two scenic viewpoints, and a guided boat trip with skipper Addin to explore the Blue Lagoon and surrounding areas together with seven other guests. When you booked on September 4th for the October 16th tour, the €29 port fee was clearly listed as an exclusion on the Viator page before booking, again on your booking confirmation, and also mentioned several times in our messages — including in the Viator chat 4 September (4 hours after booking), one week before the tour, and two days prior via WhatsApp. The rest of the group was fully informed about this, so it’s surprising that you may have missed it yet all other info where to meet you have read. We always aim to be transparent and helpful, and this fee was clearly communicated multiple times. We’re a small family-run company that takes pride in offering memorable tours, so it’s disappointing to see a one-star review.

Our driver Addin did a great job on the boat, allowing us to snorkel and swim in the blue Lagoon. The car driver was great as well, We had a couple of the stops on the way back that was a bonus and perk for us.

Communication and pickup spot were great. Bus ride was a bit rough, driver was jerky, drove fast, and bus/minivan was hot. AC not working very well, especially on the ride home. The destinations themselves were outstanding, five stars. The issue was our boat driver...he was a great driver, but decided he needed to smoke some marijuana once we got to our first destination. He said Americans "stress him out" and he needed to relax. Nobody on board caused any sort of problem, everyone was easy-going, so this is just probably his habit and his own hang up. But this is certainly not the safest thing to do when you have 10-12 people on board, including children, that you're responsible for. And the anchor locations were packed with boats and swimmers, as well as the channel between islands going back to the dock, so not comforting knowing our boat driver was high. There are numerous companies that do boat charters to these same locations so I would recommend contacting them instead.

Had a wonderful time visiting the caves and waters off the coast of Camino island. The waters are clear and various shades of blue. The boat driver knew the area well and had some of his top spots which were amazing. Definitely a must do.

We had an absolutely amazing time in Malta exploring the beautiful lagoons and caves! Casper made sure we had a good time and even took our pictures from the boat! this was an amazing tour of the gorgeous scenery! I highly recommend it!

This tour was too short and very rushed. It didn’t help that we had one couple who was very late and we had to drive around in circles for 20 minutes to get them picked up. There was not nearly enough time to swim and enjoy snorkeling as each stop was only about 15 minutes. The drive from the cruise port to the port the boat tour was on took up the majority of the time a little over an hour each way. The boat captain was great! The water was so incredible. The sights were amazing! But it really needed to be longer to enjoy it. Our cruise ship was still in port for over 3 hours after we returned so we would have had plenty of time for a longer boat trip. If you have limited time I would recommend but if you have more time I would find a longer tour.

Hi Adam, it’s Janet. This is a semi-private group tour, and as per cruise guidelines, we are required to have all guests back at the port 2 hours before ship departure. For peace of mind, we even add an extra buffer in case of traffic, which means the tour is not cut short but designed to ensure you never risk missing your ship. Regarding the late couple, while we did wait for them, this did not reduce the time of your boat tour. The group still enjoyed the promised 2 hours on the water along with the planned land stops. The rest of the group just managed a bit quicker to get off the ship but we all enjoyed the full tour.

We were picked up at the port on time and took the approximately 10 mile drive north to the ferry. There are very curvy roads!! It didn’t bother me for the most part but you may want to consider this if you do not like right side driving in fast traffic! Our driver was excellent. He dropped us off at the ferry and then we met Owen. He was an excellent captain with incredible boating skills. he brought us to all the points of interest and let us swim before taking us back to the ferry. Our driver took us to the red castle and Popeyes village and got us back to our ship on time. Excellent tour and we could’ve used another hour or two but our boat left too soon. Big thanks for offering this tour!!

Crazy waves during the crossing in a small boat, but they did warn us. Snorkling and caves was a lot of fun. We saw some fish but not much coral. Just great to get into the beautiful Malta water.

We were picked up from the port and taken to where the boat was . The guy driving stopped off so we could take pictures of popeye village and some of the beautiful views. The guys on the boat were great taking us all around the caves and the to the lagoon to have a swim for half an hour ,we got back to our ship/port with enough time to visit valleta which was well worth the time to do

The communication regarding pick up upon getting off the ship was outstanding. Our driver Claire, was terrible. She drove very erratic and quite frankly made us sick. The hour drive to the port would have been better had we received some information about Malta’s history.
We arrived at the port and the boat Captain was lovely. He explained the cave stories, the Blue Lagoon and the rest of the sites. We were able to swim around for about an hour.
After the fun boat ride, we boarded the van and endured the same erratic drive back to the cruise ship. We stopped to see Popeye’s Village on the way to the port, but never stopped to see the Red Tower as promised in the excursion description.
Overall, it was a nice day minus the hour drive to the boat and then again back to our cruise ship.
