Felt scammed by the boat pperator who required an extra port fee in cash before boating the boat,???! Port Fee, per person, it was unexpected and wrong, if I could demand my money back I would. The taxi driver was not very informative about the area.

Hi Kathy Green, this is Janet. You joined our semi-private group tour of Outdoor Explorers Malta designed especially for cruise passengers, which included pickup directly from the Valletta Cruise Port, visits to two scenic viewpoints, and a guided boat trip with skipper Addin to explore the Blue Lagoon and surrounding areas together with seven other guests. When you booked on September 4th for the October 16th tour, the €29 port fee was clearly listed as an exclusion on the Viator page before booking, again on your booking confirmation, and also mentioned several times in our messages — including in the Viator chat 4 September (4 hours after booking), one week before the tour, and two days prior via WhatsApp. The rest of the group was fully informed about this, so it’s surprising that you may have missed it yet all other info where to meet you have read. We always aim to be transparent and helpful, and this fee was clearly communicated multiple times. We’re a small family-run company that takes pride in offering memorable tours, so it’s disappointing to see a one-star review.

Our driver Addin did a great job on the boat, allowing us to snorkel and swim in the blue Lagoon. The car driver was great as well, We had a couple of the stops on the way back that was a bonus and perk for us.

Communication and pickup spot were great. Bus ride was a bit rough, driver was jerky, drove fast, and bus/minivan was hot. AC not working very well, especially on the ride home. The destinations themselves were outstanding, five stars. The issue was our boat driver...he was a great driver, but decided he needed to smoke some marijuana once we got to our first destination. He said Americans "stress him out" and he needed to relax. Nobody on board caused any sort of problem, everyone was easy-going, so this is just probably his habit and his own hang up. But this is certainly not the safest thing to do when you have 10-12 people on board, including children, that you're responsible for. And the anchor locations were packed with boats and swimmers, as well as the channel between islands going back to the dock, so not comforting knowing our boat driver was high. There are numerous companies that do boat charters to these same locations so I would recommend contacting them instead.

Had a wonderful time visiting the caves and waters off the coast of Camino island. The waters are clear and various shades of blue. The boat driver knew the area well and had some of his top spots which were amazing. Definitely a must do.

We had an absolutely amazing time in Malta exploring the beautiful lagoons and caves! Casper made sure we had a good time and even took our pictures from the boat! this was an amazing tour of the gorgeous scenery! I highly recommend it!

A wonderful way to see a lot in a short period of time. Everything was timed perfectly and we got back to our ship in plenty I of time as planned.

This tour was too short and very rushed. It didn’t help that we had one couple who was very late and we had to drive around in circles for 20 minutes to get them picked up. There was not nearly enough time to swim and enjoy snorkeling as each stop was only about 15 minutes. The drive from the cruise port to the port the boat tour was on took up the majority of the time a little over an hour each way. The boat captain was great! The water was so incredible. The sights were amazing! But it really needed to be longer to enjoy it. Our cruise ship was still in port for over 3 hours after we returned so we would have had plenty of time for a longer boat trip. If you have limited time I would recommend but if you have more time I would find a longer tour.

Hi Adam, it’s Janet. This is a semi-private group tour, and as per cruise guidelines, we are required to have all guests back at the port 2 hours before ship departure. For peace of mind, we even add an extra buffer in case of traffic, which means the tour is not cut short but designed to ensure you never risk missing your ship. Regarding the late couple, while we did wait for them, this did not reduce the time of your boat tour. The group still enjoyed the promised 2 hours on the water along with the planned land stops. The rest of the group just managed a bit quicker to get off the ship but we all enjoyed the full tour.

We were picked up at the port on time and took the approximately 10 mile drive north to the ferry. There are very curvy roads!! It didn’t bother me for the most part but you may want to consider this if you do not like right side driving in fast traffic! Our driver was excellent. He dropped us off at the ferry and then we met Owen. He was an excellent captain with incredible boating skills. he brought us to all the points of interest and let us swim before taking us back to the ferry. Our driver took us to the red castle and Popeyes village and got us back to our ship on time. Excellent tour and we could’ve used another hour or two but our boat left too soon. Big thanks for offering this tour!!

Crazy waves during the crossing in a small boat, but they did warn us. Snorkling and caves was a lot of fun. We saw some fish but not much coral. Just great to get into the beautiful Malta water.

The boat captain was wonderful and very friendly! The driver was rude and erratic. I would not recommend this tour based on the van driver.

We were picked up from the port and taken to where the boat was . The guy driving stopped off so we could take pictures of popeye village and some of the beautiful views. The guys on the boat were great taking us all around the caves and the to the lagoon to have a swim for half an hour ,we got back to our ship/port with enough time to visit valleta which was well worth the time to do

The communication regarding pick up upon getting off the ship was outstanding. Our driver Claire, was terrible. She drove very erratic and quite frankly made us sick. The hour drive to the port would have been better had we received some information about Malta’s history.
We arrived at the port and the boat Captain was lovely. He explained the cave stories, the Blue Lagoon and the rest of the sites. We were able to swim around for about an hour.
After the fun boat ride, we boarded the van and endured the same erratic drive back to the cruise ship. We stopped to see Popeye’s Village on the way to the port, but never stopped to see the Red Tower as promised in the excursion description.
Overall, it was a nice day minus the hour drive to the boat and then again back to our cruise ship.

Driver, staff, and boat crew were super friendly and easy to communicate with especially around pick-up/drop-off arrangements. The only downside was the swim time was only 20 minutes. Our primary reason for booking was the Blue Lagoon (swimming, snorkeling) so we were a little disappointed that our van ride to/from the port was longer than the whole time we were actually in the water. Other than that everything was great!

Very well organised and the driver and skipper were very friendly, everything ran on time. However it was a little expensive when including the additional €29pp payable to the skipper. Does that mean the approx €70pp was just for the transport to/from the port?

Really great experience! They were super communicative about what we needed to bring and where we needed to be for our pickup. Very responsive. Our Boat Captain Lucas was awesome! Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and devoted to making our trip great. He showed us the best places to swim and really let us choose where we wanted to spend more time or less so we could see what we wanted. The lagoons were gorgeous!

This was one our favourite Mediterranean locations, made even more memorable by this tour. The boat ride, the lagoons, caves and pop-eye village were all spectacular.
The only disappointment was after paying Viator for this excursion we were then asked to pay an additional €29 per person cash to the skipper of the boat. None of this was mentioned at time of booking.

I double-checked your booking, which was made on 31 May, and on the same evening I personally sent you a message explaining the fee. It’s also listed in the exclusions section on Viator before confirming the booking, and mentioned twice in the WhatsApp group chat we created for your group tour. I’m very happy you had a great experience, I hope you understand that it’s important for us to address this fairly.

The transportation was set up to pick us up super close to the cruise ship and was easy to connect with. Friendly driver seemed to know the roads really well and got us quickly and safely to the harbor for the excursion. The boat driver- Casper from Thailand was awesome. Funny and kind. Amazing driver. Able to maneuver through right spots to get us inside of the cave openings and get a great picture. Allowed us time to swim in the crystal clear waters, providing snorkels and masks. Super fun excursion!! Perfect day to have some FUN in the heat wave!! We were with a total of 16 people. My small group consisted of an 81 yr old, 55 yr old and a 10 yr old. And we all had a great time!!

We took a small boat to Blue Lagoon and Crystal Lagoon. Ginger, our captain and guide, was fantastic! Our group consisted of myself, wife and granddaughters ages 9 and 12. We were the only group on this small boat. Fast trip to the lagoons where the water was crystal clear. On the way Ginger had the girls steer the boat and wear captain and pirate caps. He was great with the children the entire trip.
Swimming into the caves was fantastic!! Ginger accompanied us showing different areas to explore.
Again I encourage anyone going to Malta to go on this excursion. From all the places we visited on our cruise this was our favorite excursion.

We were picked up by our driver who was very friendly. He told us a lot about Malta as he drove us through the country to the marina. He helped us to connect with our boat tour guide, Luca. Luca took us into lots of beautiful caves and gave us some choices as to where we would get out and swim (we chose the blue lagoon). After our boat tour we were picked up by our driver again and he took us to see several sites including Popeye’s village and the Red Tower. He dropped us off near a restaurant near the cruise port per our request. Great option for a cruise excursion!
