Very well organised. The trip lasts 3 hours, with a 20-minute stop at the halfway point for those who fancy a swim. We caught a beautiful sunset, and managed to catch sight of a couple of sperm whales. Definitely a highlight of our holiday to Madeira.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend this experience. We booked the 5pm “Sunset Cruise” specifically to enjoy the sunset from the boat, yet the tour ended at approximately 8:05pm. We later learned this was around 10 minutes BEFORE the forecast sunset time, meaning we were already back in Funchal port and getting off the boat before the sun had even set.
If a tour is advertised as a “sunset cruise”, I think it is entirely reasonable to expect to actually view the sunset from the boat.
We completely understand that seeing dolphins and wildlife cannot be guaranteed, and that factors such as weather can affect what you see, including the sunset. However, in this case, the issue was not simply that we were unable to see the sunset - we were back on land before it had even occurred. The timing of the tour meant we were never given a genuine opportunity to experience the advertised sunset cruise.
There was also a particularly concerning incident during the “10-minute swim break”. While passengers were swimming, we observed what appeared to be a significant amount of oil/diesel leaking from the back starboard side of the boat directly into the water. We immediately alerted a member of staff, who advised us that this was because the engines had been “worked too hard when turning”. We found this extremely concerning, particularly given that passengers were actively swimming in the water at the time.
On a positive note, the staff themselves were friendly and informative, and the drinks/snacks from the bar were reasonably priced (€3 for a large glass of wine).
Overall, we spent around three hours on a boat, were back in port before the advertised sunset had even occurred, and left feeling that the experience did not deliver what we had paid for. We found it particularly disappointing that, despite the tour not providing the experience advertised, Viator would not offer us a refund.
Very misleading posting. The photos make it seem like it will be a small boat with a small group of people, but we arrived to find it was about 100 people packed like sardines in a boat. We ended up not going as this would not be a relaxing sunset cruise. Be aware that it is more like a ferry than a nice boat ride.

Great company. We were late and missed our tour and they rescheduled us with grace. The sail was fabulous.
The crew were excellent and the whole trip was amazing - due to the unpredictably of nature we only saw a couple of dolphins which was slightly disappointing - the sunset and cliffs were fantastic

The boat ride was amazing, we managed to see dolphins and baby whales. The sunset and the view were so beautiful.
Great looking catamaran with plenty of space to sit & move around. There was a bar on board & toilets, although I didn’t use either - it’s good to have both. We sailed out for about 90 minutes, saw some dolphins, then sailed towards a cove where we had about 10 minutes to swim in the ocean, then sailed back with the sun setting behind us.
The sunset was amazing, we saw also wales and dolphines which was spectacular! All the staff very proffesional and kind. Next time when we come, we will do this trip again!
It was amazing to see a whale in the left and dolphins at the right. The crew did its best to locate the mammals! The sunset was fantastic, so was the coastal view of Funchal at night. There was enough space for everyone and the Puncha was delicious.
The only aspect that could be improved is the swimming. Only 10 minutes is really short and we decided not to plunge into the water because of this.

Se sale desde el puerto, no tiene perdida. Hay que ir hasta la caseta de la empresa para que te den las entradas aunque tengas la reserva previa. El trayecto fue increible, nos dejaron bañarnos unos 20 min con el atardecer de fondo (fatasía). Lo malo es que no avistamos delfines ni ballenas ni nada... Aunque al no haber visto nada te dan la opcion de darte el mismo trayecto gratis al día siguiente. Muy recomendable, repetiría sin duda!
