I did this tour solo with Carlos and Abraham, I had an amazing time. Carlos is an excellent driver and we made it to the best spot on the dunes no problem. Abraham was a very good teach and his tips quickly helped me pick up sandboarding, which I had never done before. They also showed my a 4x4 bus from another tour group and let me sit in the cab.
10/10 experience, I highly recommend Carlos & Abraham. They gave me some excellent restaurant recommendations too!

This sandboarding tour was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The guides were incredible, super friendly, patient, and really skilled at teaching us the techniques in a way that felt easy and fun. They kept the energy high the entire time, making the experience not just exciting but genuinely entertaining.
What really stood out was how much effort they put into helping us capture the moment. They took amazing photos and videos, making sure we had the perfect shots while still keeping everything safe and smooth.
Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, this is a must-do. It was one of the highlights of our trip!

A fantastic experience! Never sandboarded before, but Carlos and Abraham made it especially special and their rapport was great. Very prompt and understanding from pickup to the experience to the dropoff. There is absolutely nothing to worry about—now go have some fun sandboarding!

It’s only about an hour away from Lima depending on traffic. It’s a great option if you’re pressed for time. The driver and instructor were so fun and great! Had such an awesome time. Definitely was scared at first but the instructor was great and helped me a lot! We also tried sledding down and it was incredibly fun!

Carlos and Frost were amazing!!!!!!! We had the best day with them, so much fun, even though I was too scared to do it standing up. My son loved every minute of it too. If you do anything in Lima you have to do this. 10/10

What a terrific way to spend a day. The drive to the dunes was about an hour but be stopped for a snack along the way. The dunes are beautiful and the driver and instructor were wonderful. Sand boarding is SO much fun!

Such an amazing experience with great hosts. Carlos and Abraham had great personalities and were extremely patient as we learned how to shred the dunes. The off-road trip into the dunes was extremely fun as well which was a nice surprise. If you want to go sand boarding I would definitely suggest this as opposed to traveling 4 hrs like those other trips offer. These dunes were only about 1.5 hrs away and we still had about 3 hrs to board.

Blew my mind! Amazing experience and must try adventure! The landscape was stunning with cool off road ride through the desert where the kindest instructor guides you step by step to be able to snow board down the most jaw dropping dunes!

We had a fun time on this tour. Abraham was a great instructor who gave us some great tips for our first time sand boarding. He also took great pictures to capture our experience. Jose was also a great driver and picked us up exactly when he said he would. Jose and Abraham also gave us some great restaurants recommendations to try near our airbnb.

What an amazing experience! Everything was perfect from the pick up, to the restaurant stop, to the actual experience. Carlos was very accommodating with the time/date and very patient as it was my first time sandboarding. The sand dunes were a bit intimidating at first, but with practice and his guidance, i was able to conquer the large hills. This is something I would 100% do again!

The host was able to accommodate our pickup spot and were prompt with responses to any questions. Drivers were nice and got us there safely. Driving over the dunes was a blast and instructions on the boards was clear and everyone had an amazing time.

It was an amazing experience! I ended up being alone on the trip since it was a Christmas eve, which was amazing. Carlos is super attentive and a BIG PLUS, they had a friendly doggie in the car :)

My partner was not feeling well the morning of the tour so we called the company and sent a message early to see what options they provided. We were expecting to have a conversation with the company to come up with a plan to postpone for later in the day, the next day or maybe one of us would go. Our concern was to go on the tour and impact the rest of the participants. This is what we wanted to chat with them about. Unfortunately, we never got a chance. Our pickup was at 10 am and we waited in the lobby for our driver from 9:50am til 10:30am and never got picked up. I am still unsure if they cancelled the driver or what happened. To our surprise, the only message we got from the company was a message saying that we would have to book the tour again for the next day and pay again. I was confused. I reached out to Viator to better understand how we lost the tour by just asking to see what options they could provide. Unfortunately, Viator does not have a policy in place for situations like this. I did not take the tour and still got charged for it because of trying to have a conversation with the company before the tour to ensure the experience was as good as others had mentioned. If you are willing to take a chance and book this experience or use Viator, just know that they don't have policies in place to handle customer service requests. You are on your own. That is literally what my experience has been. It is very unfortunate because there is a lot of value in connecting tour companies with travelers but trust is key and when that is lost, your don't really have much left. I wish anyone else has a better experience and the company and Viator take this feedback to improve for others.

Hello Juan, Is very easy to write a bad review, but luckily we can respond.
You write to us at 9:17 am telling that your not going to be available for the tour because your wife feel sick, as I already tell you for your tour we have a designated 4x4 truck just for you, as same the instructor and equipment.
The instructor and the equipment was already at the desert (making our first cost), Then we have to pay our driver for the day that's he's going to drive for you, (second cost), and for last we have to pay the 4x4 we are using to make your experience (third cost). As you can see is not as simple that making the experience without cost. We offer you a 30% discount but you rejected because you want it for free. So is not true that we didn't care about.

This was an incredible experience and vastly underestimated! We were picked up promptly from our hotel for a personal experience - 1.5 hour drive south to the desert where we experienced a super cool and wild off road/desert ride in a Toyota Land Cruiser (thanks to our driver Rodrigo!) and then a couple hours learning to sand board down some huge dunes with our instructor Abram!! This was so much fun - and also a workout! This is the tour for you if you want a personalized and fun adventure not too far from Lima! We highly recommend.

This was an amazing experience. They were so patient, helpful, and funny. They even had a little dog (Cusi) that came with us who was ADORABLE. We had a private tour and it was only an hour outside the city. We got to do both standing and sled boarding. We absolutely LOVED this experience and highly recommend for everyone.

We had a great time! Communication beforehand was good, we were picked up on time, and they communicated well about how long it would take to get to the destination. Both the instructor and driver were great and friendly. Our instructor was a very good teacher and gave us different options to try, especially because we came in with no snowboarding experience. I would recommend bringing Dramamine if you get carsick at all just for the off-roading portion. Definitely worth the experience!

Amazing day. Carlos and Abraham were incredible. We learned how to sand board starting easy and increasing hight as we became more confident. We had loads of fun with beautiful sights. 100 out of 10 recommend. Also trip is very doable time wise 5-6 hours perfect if you are looking for a great experience without a very long drive.
Ps during the drive you will stop at a local bakery tonito, buy the local bread with cheese and oregano, it is so fresh and the best bread we had on our trip

We loved sandboarding - it was so fun! We had no prior experience, but received great instruction and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The only reason I gave this 4 stars as opposed to 5 is that the agenda advertised said that it would be approx. 20 minutes to the sand dunes and the actual ride is 1.5 hours or more (depending on traffic) which we were not expecting. Otherwise, it was a blast and the instructor and driver were super! We would definitely recommend, just allot more time than what is advertised.

We had THE BEST time with Cusi and her team :) Just kidding, Cusi is the dog, but she was a highlight for sure. Romero was an excellent communicator and driver and our teacher was AMAZING. He made us feel like we were killing it even when I’m sure we looked like toddlers. They really a unique experience even more special. Every detail has been thought out for you and they are flexible as well. 10/10 experience I will encourage all of my friends to do!

The tour started with the pickup at your hotel. Eddie the driver was punctual. The drive out to the sand dunes took ~2 hrs due to traffic, it was a Saturday rush out of town. Driving back was faster less traffic.
We met our sand-boarder teacher on the dunes. Abraham Fretell said he walked there from the bus stop to the top in 80 deg F for an hour to meet us. Wow. He spoke english well and taught all the basic movement for sand boarding. Similar to snowboarding except you will have to wax your board every time you go downhill. He was very patient and helpful.
The 4wheeling on the sand dunes was an experience that you will never forget. Dunes coaster! The views are amazing!

We had an amazing experience - 10/10 would recommend! Easy pickup from hotel and about 1.5 hour drive to the sand boarding spot, but drive goes by quickly.
Once we get off road, we experience some thrilling drives in the sand dunes with an experienced driver in his personal vehicle.
The sand boarding experience was more fun that I expected. You start on a few practice runs to get the hang of things with the instructor. Once we were comfortable, we went down the longer runs. You can go as fast or slow as you want. We definitely fell a few times but it’s so soft on the sand and you get right back up. Our instructor took some amazing pictures and videos of us in action (professional quality). After two hours, we were exhausted but felt accomplished. They had cold waters for us throughout the experience and the guides were awesome.
