Itinerary

Begin your tour to Pachacamac with hotel pickup prior to your selected morning or afternoon departure time. Climb on board a comfortable vehicle and start off in the neighborhood of Chorrillos which was an important area during the Peruvian-Chilean war. You also enjoy views of the Pantanos de Villa Wildlife Refuge and the Costa Verde Beach.

Then drive to the Pachacamac Archaeological Site and listen to informative commentary from your guide as you go. Upon arrival, tour the various temples and buildings and learn about the four cultures that lived here over the centuries. Be sure to stop by the Temple of the Sun for a panoramic view of the surrounding area out to the ocean.

Complete your tour in the historical Barranco district, where you can stroll by the Bridge of Sighs, Barranco’s Boulevard, La Ermita Church, and other colonial-era buildings.

Return to your hotel, or specify another drop-off point in Barranco. Drop-offs at centrally located restaurants can be arranged.

The day was lovely, and the hike up to the Sun God temple ruins was vigorous but not too much for a 70 year old in fair shape! The view of the ocean made it worthwhile, not to mention standing on sacred ground for the Inca people. The immensity of the archaeological site really struck me; essentially, I learned, all of Lima area is built on top of layers from ancient cultures. To touch the stones that workers used 1000 years ago to build a temple is the best way to learn history. A very good tour! Take sunscreen and water; it is warm and dry there!

We are sorry to read you have this bad experience. Our staff were at the pickup point and couldn´t find you anywhere. Our driver and tour guide were there from 08:45am until 11:00am. We even sent photos of them to the Viator webmail waiting for you at the port. Unfortunately, the bad organization of this port caused that we couldn´t find you. They told us to go from one point to another making it impossible to find you. Once again, we sincerely apologize for these inconveniences.

Not as described, but still a good tour

The tour was great, but not as described. The tour claimed we would tour Chorrillos and Barranco as well as the Pachacamac Inca Archaeological Site. Our tour just went to Pachacamac Inca Archaeological Site and back to our hotel. This was a bummer after our tour finding out it was supposed to include more. This is why I gave it a lesser rating. Besides that, we very much enjoyed visiting the Pachacamac Inca Archaeological Site. This was very cool to see. Our tour guide was very great also. I would recommend the tour, just ask ahead of time if it does include those parts of the city as well.

Everything went very smooth. Excellent tour guide... Very thorough and knowledgeable!! Always willing to go that little extra to make our group seem special.. Couldn't have asked for a nicer tour guide (Jessica) or a nicer tour!! Worth every penny!! (We enjoyed everything, but the only exclusion was the sandwich we were supposed to receive!!!

An afternoon into the past

Lucas our guide was personable and professional. The tour started with an introduction at the modern museum. There was a good explanation of the pre-Columbian cultures, which are many more than just Inca. We then maneuvered the site by car and foot which was necessary to get it all in (it's huge) and not wear yourself out. We touched the other points of the tour including a short stint on the Pan American highway, but these were really only points of interest drivebys. Overall a worthwhile half day investment to a major archaeological site just a few kilometers south of Lima .

They company supplied a guide who spoke no English. He did not speak a word to us while we were going from place to place to pint anything out and felt if he kept repeating what he was saying in his language maybe wed finally understand him. I would not recommend this tour with this company.

Nous avons visité le site de Pachacamac lors d'une escale à Lima. Pas mal d'explications fournies par le guide qui est arrivé 15 minutes en retard mais l'hôtel où nous étions avait bien été prévenu ce qui était très correcte. Temps bien géré par le guide qui nous a ramené à notre point de départ comme prévu et gentiment nous a proposé de nous déposer ailleurs si cela nous arrangeait... Bouteilles d'eau fournies qui auraient mérité d'être plus fraîches surtout qu'il faisait bien chaud.
