Overview

Peru is filled with natural wonders and this day trip from Lima visits two. Join a small group and head to Paracas for a boat trip to the Ballestas Islands. Loved this 1 day experience! My tour guide (Hugo) was the best :) I was the only one that booked in for that day and they still went ahead with the tour, so they really mean it when they say small groups!

Honestly, you can do this trip in one day if you really want to, but I’d recommend two days to really enjoy all that these locations have to offer. Also, the experience says that it’s offered in English and Spanish, but we happened to be the only English speakers in our group. So, everything was done in Spanish, even though our tour guide clearly spoke great English. That said the tour guide was really kind and did a great job of keeping us on schedule. I just wish I was able to retain more of his knowledge than my limited Spanish skills allow.

Day experience in Huacachina, ica & paracas

My partner and I did the sandboarding, boat tour, w/ a Pisco tasting. Carlos our tour guide did an amazing job taking us to all of our spots on our tours. The 3 experience's we did, the hosts were all really nice. For every tour Carlos would drop us off and wait for us exactly where he saw us, which made us feel comfortable since we didn’t know the area at all. Also with all of the spots being 3-4hour drive from Lima Carlos made us feel comfortable enough by driving safely!

This was a great trip that covers a variety of experiences. The best part was definitely the sand boarding. You will however have a ton of transport time. First leg is about 3.5 hours then another hour to get between each cities then finally 4.5 hours to get back to Lima.

Hugo was amazing! Such a fun and well organized day! The boat tour was so nice. The buggies and sand boarding was such a thrill! Lunch also was very good food and traditional.

AMAZING TRIP! In the morning our tour guide Hugo (who was absolutely amazing) picked us up in a nice sized mini bus. It is an approximate 3 hours drive to Paracas so Hugo stopped half way for gas and restroom and breakfast. The boat trip in Ballestas was cloudy but nice and the boat guide was informative in English and Spanish. We saw penguins and sea lions. There was even a mystery Nazca like line formation. We then drive to winery with Pisco for lunch and tasting. Lunch was delicious, take Hugo's recommendations! We then went to a Pisco distillery that was gorgeous with more tasting! Lots of information and history. Following this we headed to Huacachina oasis! This was the best part. We took a buggy that was crazy fast and fun until we got to the top of a dune and belly boarded down all the slopes. The sunset was breathtaking over the dunes. We stopped for ice cream back in the oasis and then headed home. Overall PERFECT day and SEAMLESS execution! 100% recommended to everyone!

Such a wonderful day!! Our tour guide Hugo was very helpful whenever we had a request. Our trip was private and he totally customized it for us. We started with seeing Paracas, an oasis in the desert that is breathtaking. Then, we had a delicious lunch followed by Pisco tour and tasting. The sand buggy and sand boarding were just the icing on the cake. We got lucky because tourism is not too active due to cover so we didn't have any crowds. Simply WOW!!!

I was travelling Peru for about 8 days, and I'm glad we chose this one for last! It was the perfect ending to our Peru trip! No one else booked the excursion, so my friend and I ended up getting the car solo for the day, with our driver Luis! Our boat guide at Ballestas Islands stopped in the waters when the sealions and birds were feeding, giving us to watch the animals in their natural habitat! We also had the dune buggies and sandboarding in the afternoon, which was perfect timing for the sunset! It was the best day ever!!!

We really had a very gr8 time with this Tour. The experience of watching nature , ocean, desert and sunset all in the same tour was amazing. On top of it, This tour was more of a private tour so no overcrowded, rushed experiences.

No english speaking tour

We booked this daytrip from lima to the islas ballestas and huacachina with a english guide. It was well organisazed and a great experience. Only the english speaking guide wos missing. Our car driver - we had no guide - understood and speak nearly no english, but with hands and feet comunication was possible.

Thanks for your comments, it will make us improve the experience. We would like to know if on the tour of ballestas island and pisco tasting the local guide did not speak in english? Because our local guides make tours in spanish and english. Transportation from Lima to Paracas and Ica is only the driver, who can speak english or maybe not, but we have all arranged in order that you have a nice experience on the places :)
