A lovely and informative trip to the amazing grottoes of Lagos! The guide is a local who knows multiple languages. He's incredibly knowledgable and you will get historic and fun facts throughout the trip. He's also got a great sense of humor, we laughed a lot! His navigation skills through small spaces are commendable. A true professional, we felt very safe.

Rui was a fantastic guide! He is friendly, funny, patient, and safe. He was very informative and switched effortlessly between two languages so everyone could follow along. The tour had the perfect pace: slower on the way out to soak in the caves and beaches, then a bit quicker on the way back, which let me soak it all in as a whole. Experiencing the grottoes from the boat was amazing, and I appreciated Rui’s knowledge and calming personality. You’re also supporting a locally run business, which makes it even more meaningful. Highly recommend this tour and Rui!

This was a fantastic tour! Everything from start to finish was smooth sailing. The tour guides were excellent and very knowledgeable in the areas. It was very enjoyable to get close to the shoreline and see the water and rock formations up close. And early morning trip was a great time to go!

Don’t miss this experience. It was much better than the kayak to Benagil, imho. Rui was full of knowledge and the best boat driver. He could maneuver that boat magnificently through the caves and grotto.

Best Tour to see all the formations

For me and my friend the boat tour was amazing and the pick of our travel in Portugal.we saw all the amazing formations that there are to see , in a very small and intimate group. (much more intimate than other boats around us ) Roi was exceptionally informative, mastered English (he speaks 5 Languages) , gave us a deeper glimpse of life in Portugal, with lots of humour and sincerity and for us this surpassed the tour in comparison to any other tour around

What you see in an hour is really remarkable and nonstop viewing of the Algarve coast with multiple caves and holes in the rocks to see. The small boat can go in and out of the caves. I know we saw at least a dozen formations maybe more. The cost of 25 euros each is super cheap. My only negative is the guide was hard to understand so we didn't catch much of the information, but it didn't matter, you just sit back and see the beauty!

Great value and safe at sea with super professional English speaking guide

I have been in some of the most exotic parts of the world -- done on my own and without a guide. So when I swear by Viator -- that means the company is doing something right. As most of you know, Viator works with thousands of subcontractors. They are up front about telling you what sub is conducting your tour. When I arrived at the docks, an English speaking person told me I was the only one that booked for my time. I feared I would be left to fend for myself, despite having a very tight daily schedule. No, he placed me on another boat with a top notch captain and English speaking guide. We left right on time, returned right on time and every moment at sea felt safe and sound. The narration was spot on. Going out the channel gives a great view of Old Lagos. Getting out the the rock formations and grottos -- on the way to and at Ponta da Piedade, gives you a picture post card view from the Atlantic up to the amazing cliffs and openings.

You’ve got to see Ponta da Piedade from both sides, land and the ocean! Our tour guide gave us the names to the rock formations and maneuvered through the water so well. We passed a lot of kayakers and I’m glad we went with the boat tour instead of kayaking. It seemed like some people were in sync and others weren’t. Since we had a lot to see that day and not a lot of time, going on the boat was easy and didn’t wear us out for the rest of the day. This was a great tour!
